I was there. The racing hasn't improved. It was hard to watch. But of course, a car running 30th with less than 5 laps to go causes a caution. That made it seem like it might get better, but it didn't. Wreck before they got back to the white, no caution. If you thought this was great to watch you would have really loved the racing in the 80s and 90s. Congrats Byron.

Can we just admit 10 minutes of a 4 hour race is not “extended highlights”. indycar does 30 minute extended highlights, can we please do something similar !!!
Terrible race as far as passing goes. This car is just not it on these short tracks. NASCAR gotta make a big big change with this car for short tracks.

I love how on the final lap the other 2 Hendrick boys(Larson and Elliott) Are blocking the rest of the field so no one can get to Byron.That Teamwork reminds me of Earnhardt and Earnhardt jr helping mikey win his first race at daytona(RIP Earnhardt!🫡🙏)
Not sarcasm-Are you not familiar with martinsville? It’s I think the shortest track on the circuit. It’s only about half a mile long. Doesn’t make for high speed racing, it makes for very technical racing.

Have you ever wondered how every championship race the final 4 cars are always upfront unless a wreck or something uncontrollable happens? My theory they give them more octane in the fuel for the final four cars.. Somethings up with that ?
HMS always dominates, if it's not HMS it is Gibbs. I'm not complaining either, it is just where the sport has been for a long time now. It's why I root for TrackHouse Racing, Nascar needs new blood in the game!

William Byron drove from 18th to 1st. I’d say he didn’t have track position and still won. And he did all the passing on track which makes it more impressive.
@@stlouiscjb didn't he take two tires with Logano? Regardless, in a package that doesn't allow passing isn't it kind of weird that he was able to? Sounds like he is getting an unfair advantage. Albeit a short one, but enough to change outcomes of races.
@@TactShooter no, logano was the only one on the first stage break caution to take only 2. Blaney took 2 on the stage 2 caution. Both worked out fairly well. No I don’t think he had any advantages other than the setup in the car and how he drove. Just because it’s hard to pass doesn’t mean it’s impossible or the package doesn’t allow it. Every week there are drivers that hit the set up better than others. Similar to bell at phoenix, he was just able to pass and work through traffic better than everyone else. Normally you’d set up cars to run better in fresh air, but imo thanks to this new car and how durable it is and how little cautions are now, it’s almost necessary to get a setup that’s good in traffic because it’s almost guaranteed the field gets strung out like it did today that you need to be able to pass and get through traffic
