There are many tax, administrative, and contractual reasons one might use that number of entities. It could also result from profit sharing among different partners and investors, holding different rights and assets in many jurisdictions. I’m not speaking on whether his companies are for illegal purposes, but the number of companies and jurisdictions is not necessarily indicative of wrongdoing. Again, not saying anything political, just saying a lot of entities can be involved in a deal. The purchase of a hotel for instance or a private equity investment in a company, could involve 25 entities and it wouldnt be j usual. Ive been a corporate and investment attorney for 18 years just as context for my view.
