The magic of Seiko has faded after I built my own NH35/36 based watch...for 70 bucks. 😮 Yeah. I will buy a solar and GMT Seiko someday but for the simpler models, I'm good with modding/tinkering.

I was buying mainly AliExpress watches, but I recently “graduated” to micro brands like Zelos & Signum. I also have a few Citizen Tsuyosa’s & a few Casio Oceanus pieces. I am content with where I am right now, but my taste is starting to grow a little more expensive. However, I would never buy a Tudor or a Rolex just for the name. if I’m going to spend $5000 or $10,000 or more, it better be a watch that’s worth it - perhaps with diamonds and pearls or precious metal or something like that
You should pitch it to SM. I smell profits for you in the wind! It looks Incredible man. I think this looks on par with the Explorer. Man is that going to piss off people haha! If you didn't tell me you built this then I would have thought this was some super expensive military diver or stainless field watch! Take care Brother!

Love the word 'homage' - some love to use it to hate, some use it to excuse and some use it to tribute a great design. I'm really none - if I like it and it fits I wear it. Almost nobody on a daily basis know a Timex from a Omega when passing by me. Going back to the seventies and the integrated bracelet watches - every major brand had one and they all were homages, all but one anyway.
