Spike, if the steering station is inside the cabin behind the windshield....it seems she is a wet ride at speed. How to keep all the sea spray from entering the cabin if you are keeping the door open for wench controls and adjusting steering auto pilot? Or is the autopilot verbotten (forbidden) on high speed runs like this? Can a husband wife deal with such a big kitty?
@@spikeabram9416 I bet the owner had jizz in his pants. I know i would. I hate Gunboat pornography like this. I won't sleep for a week. Which bank to rob, what relative to kidnap...you know...the usual get rich/go to jail schemes.
Gunboat provides beautiful film of the boat ripping and spume gloriously flying. And the comments complain it’s a wet boat. OMG it’s like complaining your Ferrari is too load at 9k rpm.
nah that's really not the same, your comment is a confession that you do not have much experience sailing or living on the water for extended periods of times.
@@pred7949 If you don't like all the flying spray, you can always reef. If that beautiful cat was bobbing along at 6 knots instead of smoking along at 20 I doubt the spray would be flying the length of the boat. That said, I think it's glorious. In a "dry" boat you can only go slow or slower. This beautiful cat is like having a fast car, you don't have to keep your foot to the floor all the time.
@@spikeabram9416 Okay cool! I am in an international school and I target HEC/EDHEC. I do regattas on hobie sixteens! It's the perfect boat! By the way, can you maneuver it alone if you are a good sailor or do you need a crew?
Im not sure people want to hear the rotating helicopter blades vs music! Come sailing, I think you will be surprised (no helmets or earplugs required!)
The Gunboat 68 is built of foam core and has an inner liner with an air gap in-between, so the hulls are essentially double-glazed, keeping the inside extremely quiet! Thanks for the comment, now you can have your fast carbon cat without the noise!
It has wave-peircing bows. They're designed to drive the boat efficiently through the waves rather than scrubbing off all its speed with violent pitching motions. All displacement sailboats that can do these speeds are wet
Good lord! It's absofuckinglutely beautiful.
bucket list vessel.

Damn thats quick
68 is such a big boat. Really like the 55.
Now that you should have a great time on
With foresails this low over the “deck” and this much heeling how are you supposed to see around ? So when can you use those foresails ?
Thank you for a good video. What speed did she reach?
33 knots with the owner driving during seatrials.

I am 16 right now but I will definitely be one of your future clients, especially for your gunboat 68😉
Yes Eliott. You know where we are when you make it!

Gunboat !!!!
Sailing her like that, what are the breakage costs?
Because she is designed and built right =zero!! to date after 9000nm.
A f*^kn men. 🙌🙌
Sexiest cat ever;)
100% !!
Really buries the downwind hull in a breeze but what a boat!
yeah, no . hull gon get wet some
Wave piercing bow design built for speed to limit climbing over waves and pitching.
@@jamesaron1967 Oh ya, I understand. Just commenting on the drama when moving at speed.
Is that Slingshot
Spike Abram how are you involved with Gunboat? You just seem to be answering all the comments.
I worked as owners rep on the build and now work out of the Newport office-brokerage, service and technical to the fleet.
I'd say "Life is too short to sail a fast boat" but yah.. i'm a bit silly really.
gunboat..…..?????? O.o
Having to have music on the vid because you can't hear anything in a carbon cat. I can just imagine the deafness when the hull slaps.

Wet boat - poor bow design.
It’s sailing 3x faster than any “dry” boat you could name.
