    It is time for the newest instalment in that beloved cinematic automotive UA-cam experience where we film practical cars that can be bought for less than £1,000 in a manner befitting of their inexpensive value! This may go horribly wrong (and frequently does)...
    This time, as we test a 1993 Nissan 100 NX, we wax lyrical about the GA16 engine, talk about aftermarket wheels, get excited about driving dynamics, fit some secret mission documents into a glovebox and drone on about very little of any importance at all. Nothing untoward, then...

    Goodness, I haven't seen one of these in a very long time!
    Extremely low mileage.
    I would definitely recommend this over a Paseo!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 роки тому +2

      I like the Paseo, sir, but they don't drive like this does. I am tempted by one of these myself, but the rear headroom was truly awful, sadly...

    Had one of these. Only thing that made me sell was the asbestos in the bulkhead which concerned me. Great content 😊

      Thank you, sir! Didn't realise they had asbestos in the bulkhead.... I was too busy enjoying myself, I think.

      Also sold mine for that very reason. Very rare for a 90s vehicle in Europe to contain asbestos anyhow, but the overall amount was of great concern.

    This was one of my dream cars back in the days, alongside the Honda del sol! It’s amazing how this one is so well maintained! Heads off to the owner(s) for keeping it alive and well.

      It was an absolute delight. I love cars with the GA16 engine, I think I would prefer just the normal N14 Sunny as it is a bit easier to get in and out. This one is superb, though!

    It seems to be an all round good design. The wheels suited the car very well, too. The owner must share my aesthetic taste.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 роки тому

      Yes, as you saw, the standard wheel was in the boot, and it looks just fine, but these also do suit the car quite well.

    Liked these when they first came out, sounds really nice with the aftermarket exhaust not too loud or boomy! And I am in agreement with you the wheels really suit the car.
    Excellent Review as always Sir.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you, sir! I don't think that you can get a standard exhaust for these anyway, you have to modify an N14 Sunny one, so a lot of people choose a slightly modified one anyway. This one seems fine.

    A lovely example. Stuart always manages to find stunning examples!, Great video Joseph!

      Thank you, sir! Yes, drove all the rest of Stuart's collection last year. Absolutely amazing in every respect. Your car will be coming up in one of last Sunday's other videos.

    My mum had one of these in white in ‘93, absolutely wonderful car. Very fond memories of it when we lived in Cyprus. If I saw one for sale and had the cash I’m positive I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Many seem to be red over here though which is a shame, imo it doesn’t look anywhere near as pretty compared to the white.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  Місяць тому

      Yes, they aren't massively common over here, as they weren't the biggest sellers, but you do find the odd one from time to time. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting!

    Such an interestingly styled car! 😍 I never realised that these were also available with fuel injection, just assumed carburettor only.
    I think it is a shame that there are very few (if any) coupés like this around. I can't think of one that can be bought brand new.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, both carburettor and fuel injected versions were available, and we were able to feature both in the video. There are no coupés like this left on the market now.

    A really attractive little Coupe. When it was current it not a pocket rocket loke GTis of the time but that was not the point of the Nissan NX, Toyota Paseo, Honda Coupe or Hyundai Scoupe. Their mission was more to be attractive sporty looks.
    Really good to know that it drives well too.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  Рік тому

      Yes, they drive even better than you would imagine. Could have done with the SR20 engine in this country too, but you could, of course, get the Sunny GTI or the Pulsar GTI-R, which shared the same platform, if you wanted more performance.

    There is a red one of these I often see at classic car shows here in Yorkshire.
    Great looking cars.
    In the 90's it seems every manufacturer has coupes and sports cars in all sizes and the Japanese were probably the first out of the starting blocks.
    Such a shame that manufactures today refuse to listen and only want to build SUV's.

      Mr Parr, these are simply amazing! A little bit too cramped for me, perhaps, so I would just prefer the Sunny that this is based on, but an amazing drive, and I do like the look of them too.

    Thanks for this video! These cars used to be quite common in New Zealand. One was even used as the Pace Car in the 1993 Nissan Mobil 500 on the now-defunct Wellington Street Circuit!

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  Рік тому +1

      Yes, they weren't that common over here, due to the initial pricing issues and other factors, but they are fantastic.

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting They and the Paseo were 'common as' in New Zealand, but you would be hard pressed to find a decent one of either car nowadays due to the tightening of screws on pre-2000 cars. Can you please be period correct and play 'Cotton-Eyed Joe' by Rednex on the tape deck?

    Nissan 200 ex styled. Ish. Nissan sunny liftback based (1600 slx) he says it but not very hearableFront is in all probability not because Nissan insisted on nongrille, but for a little bit of a Corvette feel. But sublimal. Since it does have headlights, not pop up
    It has a predecessor whose rear light were sorte copied in a Peugeot 307 cabrio coupe. T roof remained extremely rare. Something is difficult fragile, or expensive to produce about it. Idunno what

      Netherlands Toyota mr 2 was definitely more expensive. Being a faster cooler poor Mans sportscar Capri and manta were competition. Maybe latter was already calibra..yeah think i izz

      Toyota paseo is a greyer competitor, as is the Hyundai s coupe, Pony/Excel coupe version.

    • @rheijm9201
      @rheijm9201 Рік тому

      The Mazda mx 3 if v6 version is surely a competitor,. but a well maintained technically solid one is scarse. That isn't objectively a lot faster, but it feels quicker. It has thesame low roof feel, they still did that for their customers in those days (: now they just do ipo Porsche , never sell one to validated people specimen, nobody s bothered.. 136 cm high.

      Yes, based on the N14 Nissan Sunny. As I said right at the beginning of the video, we do not use anything over than a phone to record these videos on, with no separate microphone, so sometimes the sound is a bit muffled, even if I turn it up in editing, but that is the way No Budget Reviews has been for 120 episodes and almost three years, so we like to keep it that way.

    I remember my dad working in a Nissan dealer from 89 to 91 and seeing him bringing a 100NX home one day, was fascinated by the targa roof at the time, was red too!
