@@WesleyGuitarWebb I also own one of these and bought it for the specific purpose of making my own relic... I can't think of a better cheap guitar to relic up and I've gotta be honest. playing this thing on a fender champion 40 in my home, I don't need to change a thing except the tuners, maybe...
-I absolutely am blown away at what you get out of a Harley-Benton for the price. I remember being 14 and knowing not to touch a Squire because if you plugged it in all you'd hear is garbage. The pickups aren't anything to write home about, but for personal home use, on a really nicely mixed clean tone in my small studio, I see not a thing wrong with them either

Thanks for the vids man! I was on the way ordering my first electric guitar, was going for the fender player series but then I discovered these TE20's and also watched your upgrade video. It seems almost too good to be true, but they sound as good as a fender.. I ordered this exact same model and color, also went for the same upgrade as you did. Hope the microcube gx amp will do it justice as well!
I also watched a video were it was in a blind comparison with some original fenders (1800 USD pricepoint) and I thought this TE20 model was the one that sounded the best.. incredible. Let's hope the saved bucks will be worth it :-)

    • @kiiroMADE

I just received it an hour or two ago and I must say it's just simply amazing so far. The finish is great, it came perfectly setup, no sharp fret ends, nothing wrong with the tuners and everything else is just personal taste..
This is the first electrical guitar I have in my hands so I have nothing else to compare with except my fender acoustic which was more than 4x the price of this one. Can't really say the fender guitar feels more premium in any sort of way..
I was also very happy that the maple fretboard was way darker than on the picture at thomanns website!
I also understand why people say that you could take your telecaster to war, it's a heavy beast and getting hit in the head with this one means bye bye for good.
About the Roland Micro Cube GX I can say that it'll be good enough for anything me as a beginner will do with this guitar. It can also be way louder than I'll ever want it to be!
I'm rather happy that I chose this path instead of the fender player series at the moment, this seems like it is a perfect beginners guitar that will suit me for a long time ahead.
PS. Alan QCed my guitar as well, he seems like a great guy ;)

If you’re having tuning issues, I’d highly recommend Harley Benton’s locking tuners which are sub $40 and are extremely easy to install and use. They will keep your guitar in tune extremely well.

Emerson Vella you’re correct. As mentioned in the video, when I started playing it I had to keep tuning it as the die cast tuners aren’t the best, but after a while it was stable enough with very subtle tuning slippage. The same day I recorded this video, I played a 2 and half hour gig with this guitar and it did the job 👌🏻
For a guitar under $90, you could put a Graph Tech nut and a set of locking tuners for under $50 which would make a big difference to the tuning

Maurice Kilday Hi Maurice, I did not set the guitar up at all. All it needed was a bit of a stretch on the strings and a bit of a tune up. However, I would definitely recommend a set of Harley Benton locking tuners and a graph tech nut for better tuning stability, or at least put your favourite brand of guitar strings on it as the ones that come with it aren’t that great.
However saying that, the same day of recording this video, I played this guitar at a 2 and a half show and it was amazing! With no set up or re-string. One of the best guitars I’ve played live 👌🏻

How's the playability? Isn't to hard to handle? How's the string action out of the box? Aren't those pickups to noisy? I play bass but looking for cheap but playable out of the box guitar to have some fun from time to time.

    • @WesleyGuitarWebb
      @WesleyGuitarWebb  4 роки тому

The playability out of the box was pretty good! I’ve had Squiers out of the box with worse playability. It’s a very easy guitar to pickup and play. The strings aren’t great but I played a gig with them on. I would suggest replacing them after a little while as they will go dull very quickly. The pickups are single coils so they will have a little bit of noise when played on the dirtier channels but other than the usual noise any guitar would have, its pretty decent. I’d recommend it for any starter/ beginner. I’d even recommend it for advanced players too!
Oh, and I didn’t have to set it up either. The action was perfect for me 😄

High level of crunch is not the friend of any neck pickup and especially not a tele-style single coil.... But overall the Lead was complete trash tbh. Not your play, not the guitar. The tone set up on the amp. Way too muddy even with only the bridge pickup.
