- Cavaliers Rehearsal on July 24, 2001 in Joplin, MO at MSSU just 3 weeks before they won their 4th Title at DCI World Championship Finals. UPDATE! This is all 11.5 minutes that I recorded with my shaky handicam in the stands and on the field with the brass!
I’m somewhere in there … This was the hardest program I marched in - possibly the most challenging thing I’ve done in my life.
Still I love that closer. Where was the mello solo in the closer? Was Corey out that day?

I know a few people in there! One of the mellos went to my high school and taught me, an incoming naive freshman, all about the shocker, two in the pink... You know what I'm talking about. He was obsessed with it lol
Man that drill was so difficult. Thanks for posting. I’m there somewhere. Every so often I can pick myself out. Hardest rookie year ever.

Set us up for the best year ever the next year. Nothing was too difficult after '01.
Man you all were awesome, I still blast the 2001 CD in my home stereo, neighbors always wonder what “that” music is. lol.
Late 90’s-2010 cavs moved so much! The velocity was intense

@@davewroberts I appreciate that. I marched Cadets in 1999 and 2000, so I'm a bit far removed from them over the past few years. But I AM also saddened by their folding.
@@TheRailwayDroneI pretty much have that whole 2000 show locked in my memory forever! I love that one so much! My first DCI show ever was the 1993 DATR which Cadets won and that started my drum corps journey. I ended up marching Colts the next season and have been to at least a couple of shows every year since then 😊
@@davewroberts Wow that's cool. I initially learned of drum corps around 1994 when a friend had introduced it to me. I saw Cadets live for the first time in 1996 and then after 1997, I knew I had to march there. I wound up marching Surf in 97, Crossmen in 98, then went to Cadets in 99 and finished in 2000. I had two more years left but I joined the Navy after tour. I figured nothing would get better than 2000.
Simply one of the Best All Around show in DCI (maybe all of marching) history. I would often complain that the Cavies horn line suffered because of all that movement (and it did) but this was a masterpiece in all captions.
Did they go undefeated this season?
I wonder what it was that caused that tuba player to just kinda randomly fall over fight after getting to his dot 2:58

@@eldingo617that's the one thing I hated about marching contract is anytime when you go left it's essentially a leap of faith / using the force because if you trip you don't know what you're about to fall on and the other contras that are coming towards you don't know what happened which means a pile up can happen and that would be painful
