Good Day Tom: I just returned home after taking my 3 Grandsons to a Safari Park that features many wild animals, however; they are not caged, for the most part. They have hundreds of acres to roam free within the Park. We were driven through the Park on an old bus, with the Roof and Windows removed in order to better see and feed the animals within the Safari Park. Deer, Buffalo, Elk, Emu, Scottish Highland Cattle, Bulls, Fallow Deer and much, much more. The grandsons loved it, as did I. I just finished watching your latest Video where your friends little boy, Tristan, was enjoying your camp and meal. I'm certain he enjoyed himself a great deal and, thanks to you, will possibly carry on the tradition of Bush Craft. It was apparent he was enjoying himself. Another very enjoyable, well crafted video, with the bonus of learning the technique of making the leather case for your seasonings. Very nice job. I'm going to give it a try myself. I can't imagine how ancient the art of wood carving and leatherwork are, but you are a master at those ancient folk arts. Your visitor is clearly super intelligent and has a lot to teach. Well done Tom, this is what little lads and girls should be learning and what a great teacher. I myself grew up Playing around the canals and making dens with my friends, whittling sticks and generally getting covered in muck in the countryside, catching fish and tadpoles making bows and arrows, or sometimes just sitting and loving what I could see. As a boy and as I do today, I always had a penknife that my grandfather gave me (my Dad didn't know or care) and I learned to keep it clean and sharp and never use it for the wrong purpose. This is so much better than TV games or Cell phones, get the kids out while they are young and they will learn life long skills and be healthier for it. all round better people. Great video Tom. It’s fantastic that you’re teaching young Tristian about the outdoors and bushcraftIng. I’ve just started teaching my grandson as well. He’s four years old and we’ve been learning how to identify animal tracks for the wildlife in our area. He’s very excited about learning and can easily identify about 8 - 10 different animal tracks. We’ve been working all summer on it. I also gave him his first pocket knife. He can only carry it with me under my supervision but my daughter (his mom) isn’t very happy about it. She’ll get over it!!! LOL!!!! I’m sure that you’ve found as I have that teaching and encouraging our little ones is as rewarding to us as it is for them. @@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Wow, thank you so very much, I have the bushcraft knowledge, but not the UA-cam and video knowledge, so have a long way to go to be anywhere near your quality. The ancient Highlanders and Norse would have mixed along the West Coast, my home town of Oban is Gaelic and Norse meaning Little Bay. There would have been some exchanges of ideas between cultures back then too. My interest in my Jacobite and Highland ancestors is not unlike your interest in your Viking ancestors, people like us, and reenactors, and others to feel the call of our ancestors and try to experience the way they might have travelled through the land help to keep them alive. Those old school aspects are what I like about your videos. Also, your leatherwork, that is brilliant. I'm just learning that, made a few bits from offcuts, but when I get back to work after lockdown hoping to get some hides and make better gear. Keep up your great work. Love what you are doing.

Great to see your new friend. Your food looks great but I’ve recently learned a new way to cut mushrooms, who would have thought there was more than one way. Stand the mushroom stem up ,cut down into quarters giving you 4 triangles instead of slices. More even cooking and better mouth feel. I love it

I love this. Getting children out doors is how we keep these skills alive. I took my son into the Arizona high country last weekend. I showed him how to make fire in the rain (a light summer rain).

Well done Tom, this is what little lads and girls should be learning and what a great teacher.
I myself grew up Playing around the canals and making dens with my friends, whittling sticks and generally getting covered in muck in the countryside, catching fish and tadpoles making bows and arrows, or sometimes just sitting and loving what I could see.
As a boy and as I do today, I always had a penknife that my grandfather gave me (my Dad didn't know or care) and I learned to keep it clean and sharp and never use it for the wrong purpose.
This is so much better than TV games or Cell phones, get the kids out while they are young and they will learn life long skills and be healthier for it. all round better people.

That is nice that you have him to enjoy the country side and get to be with you and I love the gifts he had for you. Great video Tom. It’s fantastic that you’re teaching young Tristian about the outdoors and bushcraftIng. I’ve just started teaching my grandson as well. He’s four years old and we’ve been learning how to identify animal tracks for the wildlife in our area. He’s very excited about learning and can easily identify about 8 - 10 different animal tracks. We’ve been working all summer on it. I also gave him his first pocket knife. He can only carry it with me under my supervision but my daughter (his mom) isn’t very happy about it. She’ll get over it!!! LOL!!!! I’m sure that you’ve found as I have that teaching and encouraging our little ones is as rewarding to us as it is for them. Also...Very nice job on the spice holders and pouch. You’ve given me inspiration for yet another project. Cheers from Texas my friend and thanks for sharing.

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Wow, thank you so very much, I have the bushcraft knowledge, but not the UA-cam and video knowledge, so have a long way to go to be anywhere near your quality. The ancient Highlanders and Norse would have mixed along the West Coast, my home town of Oban is Gaelic and Norse meaning Little Bay. There would have been some exchanges of ideas between cultures back then too. My interest in my Jacobite and Highland ancestors is not unlike your interest in your Viking ancestors, people like us, and reenactors, and others to feel the call of our ancestors and try to experience the way they might have travelled through the land help to keep them alive. Those old school aspects are what I like about your videos. Also, your leatherwork, that is brilliant. I'm just learning that, made a few bits from offcuts, but when I get back to work after lockdown hoping to get some hides and make better gear. Keep up your great work. Love what you are doing.

Great to see your new friend. Your food looks great but I’ve recently learned a new way to cut mushrooms, who would have thought there was more than one way. Stand the mushroom stem up ,cut down into quarters giving you 4 triangles instead of slices. More even cooking and better mouth feel. I love it
