I had a budgie before and a set a love birds. My budgie didn't have a cage, it lived freely in my room with it's proper little furniture, and my mom once put my budgie in the cage with the love birds because she didn't like it in my room. That day I came home from school and my budgie was dead; the love birds attacked him 😪
@Artoria Pendragon op said it was a pair.. its completely the mothers fault, a bonded pair of birds should never be put in a cage with another bird without introducing them in a calm and open environment.
Hello! Glad to see you making videos again. Masked lovebird is a different species - Agapornis personatus. You have Agapornis fisheri. Although they can interbreed, it is considered unethical to interbreed species in order to preserve the original ones. Also peach-faced lovebird is different species - Agapornis roseicellis. He can also interbreed with fisher lovebird, but the chicks are not fertile and can be prone to sickness, because peach-faced lovebird is even further relative - it is not an eye-ring species of lovebird. So i think the best thing is to get Agapornis fisheri - they also have blue mutations. My blue, probably male, lovebird loved your loki, he was trying to get into the screen when I watched your videos. Unfortunately died two weeks ago. His partner, probably female, cant stand another two lovebirds that I got later, and after her buddy died, it is even more aggressive towards the other two. If they were in same cage, I am sure someone would get killed. I read that female, if with partner, always rejects newcomer. Even if alone, it is not guaranteed that she will accept new male. So be prepared for a challenge. Lovebirds can hate their own more than other species, so you will need to supervise them carefuly. greetings from Slovakia.
It was probably a mating dance to show off or see if the other bird was interested... Then he/she began to try and "feed" your finger... By grabbing it with his/her beak first.
I have a tiktok of my lost lovebird mating with my macaws toys, but my macaw opened a window all my flock got out but I never seen poor Leo again, his mate was on eggs that she had to leave, im not sure they were fertile but I bought a fishers lovebird because sprite was heartbroken over the loss of leo, but I got a not yet ready to mate male, a young bird as I didn't want a randy male coming in trying to mate with her straight away, there together 4 months now and are starting to act like a pair, they were checking out the nest box today, it's lid is broken, my macaw got hold of it so I will pick up a new box today just incase..I've subscribed..

@@loki5595 well, domesticated birds are used to being kept as pets and don't know how to survive in the wild. If you were to set them free, they would die. If a domesticated bird heard another bird outside, it wouldn't always want to play with it because it is a complete stranger to it. Pet birds usually don't get lonely because most owners by more then one bird to keep each other company. You were correct when you said that they shouldn't be kept locked up in cages. However, good bird owners let their bird out of their cage for several hours daily and provide them with a large cage with lots of toys so that they don't get bored. Unfortunately, there are some bird owners who never take their bird out and keep them in tiny cages with no toys.
I would've guessed no -- budgies and lovebirds are in different genuses, and have lived and evolved separately for a long time, and in most cases, even very closely related animals can rarely produce viable and/or fertile offspring. For example, donkeys and horses can mate and produce offspring, but the offspring are infertile. I'd guess that it's likely that different of species of lovebirds and different species of budgies might be able to produce live offspring, though -- since some different kinds of macaws (like blue and gold macaws and scarlet macaws) can mate with each other and produce offspring.
It is impossible for a lovebird to produce viable offspring with a budgie the short version is the genetics are not compatible only birds that are close enough related in a genus can produce offspringthere there instances though we're some species that are not of the same genus have produced offspring but they're usually along the lines of being more closer related such as in Australia a cockatiel produced with a galah
Pick a male lovebirds with the same species ( pisher) any color you like. The problem if you pair the blue black mask lovebird all their babies won’t produce babies anymore even though they are both lovebirds coz they have different species.
you clearly don't know anythings about genetic .. they can't breed together so eggs aren't fertile so nothing will hatch from them..bird sometimes lays eggs without any partner ...
Perfect!!!!! I have a blue masked lovebird. Still, I think ur love bird might experience heart broken if you move the yellow bird. By the way the blood on the egg brought teers in my eyes.
@@aimafaisal4193 From the footage I saw, those birds definitely aren’t mates, they were doing a bit of mutual preening but they definitely aren’t actually in love or anything, especially since lovebirds are usually very aggressive to other species.

you should get another fischer lovebird. you can find a blue fischer mutation but don't get the masked one as they are different types of lovebird and interbreeding isn't exactly good or recommended. its best to keep them to their own species. you'll have pure fischer lovebird babies and you will get a variety of colors since loki is orange yellow and green and the partner would most likely be blue since that's what you want to get.
I am part of a bird rescue. We had a small bird room where we kept several species of small birds, including budgies and lovebirds. We had a lovebird-budgie pair that chose each other, without us trying to do anything. The lovebird built a huge nest at the top of the closet. No eggs ever, but the two were inseparable. And there were up to 10 each of lovebirds and budgies in that room at any given time, all with their own sets of cages but doors open and free flighted in the room. They can get along if there is plenty of room and lots of different feeding areas, so they can get away from each other if they want/need to.
I do recommend the Lotino Peach Face Yellow (male) for a second lovebird. Sure look for a couple when you want eggs and new babv lovebirds. We do have the opposite version which is the Black mask as (male) and a Lotino peach face Yellow (female). Now the female lotino peacht face yellow is the most trained one here and as u know females do learn faster, the black mask male is really hard to tame and is teh most shy and acts more defensive, but he is younger and has more to learn. So fare no eggs, but i'm keeping an eye on the nest. Lives in an appartment like your place, fed with vegetables (chopped), seeds/nuts/rice and water. We still have our old parakeet but they do not want to live next to 2 Agapornis aka lovebirds. Succes
