We love Disney, and just got home 6 days ago from Orlando. We did the Boo Bash, and we’ve done plenty of private events in the past, yet this year we were disappointed. They shortened the hours. Hiked up price. Now watching this and Enchantment last night, I’m not seeing or feeling the nostalgia of 50 years of what my kids have fallen in love with. Love you Walt Disney World, but I’m holding out hope that you hear what your dedicated Disney families are telling you.
I still miss the train station park opening. It just had that extra bit of Disney magic seeing the characters roll in with the main street townsfolk singing and dancing.
When me and my mother went to Disney world in March my mother started to cry when micky and Minnie came out it was such a sweet moment and the best week of my life!! And most people would get sick of the song the "magic is calling" I NEVER GET SICK OF IT
Slightly humorous anecdote: I'm a CM at MK and, so far, the fireworks at the end of this show have startled me every single time I'm outside at the same time they go off. It's a more effective wake up than coffee sometimes. 😂
Because Mickey and his friends are the flagship characters. The legacy originals who are instantly recognized as Disney. Have the characters that started it all open it all. I'm a designer. Think about it for a branding point: who are the characters that have longest represented the Disney brand and are world-renowned for starting this all? Mickey Mouse and Co. The Disney brand is about magic and story telling. Having been kicked things off as a start to what set the stage for the brand and having everyone else come after keeps up the chronological story tradition.
@@tristahncruzada4338 the castle stage is only so big. Those characters are great, but they need ones that are recognized instantly. Not everyone knows channel characters. See my above comment as to why it's Mickey and friends. I LOVE Eda and most of those characters you just mentioned, but think about it from a branding standpoint. 50 year anniversary are huge, especially for something as big as disney. Why would they choose characters who haven't even been around for 5 years for a 50th anniversary?

I just wish sometimes when filming events they can zoom in a little to see things that are happening the far away shots are nice but when there is commentary it would be nice to see the people or the characters .

One chatty cast member said he didn’t want to get booed. Jokes on him because he was at the GMA area and he got booed.

Another dud. Missed opportunity after missed opportunity. There should be a huge production show with the Kids of the Kingdom on the castle stage. They really screwed the pooch on this entire celebration. Cheapskate Chapek strikes again.
I have to keep reminding myself that Disney is for all ages. I'm that father that puts his kids on his shoulders because they cant see over the adults streaming to make $$.

For the 50th you would expect more. Why didn’t they bring out more characters to open the park? Do something out of the normal.

The sea of smartphones really depresses me. I don't bother filming things like this. 200 more people will have done that for me 🤧
