So let me get this straight. This big celebration. The countdown that I had to look at whenever opening the Disney World app. All the hype pushed by Disney, the 50 plaques posted everywhere. It all culminated to some popcorn buckets and a pre recorded speech? Very cool, Disney. Very cool.
And let's not forget the new nighttime show which also was a complete disappointment that will last almost 2 years running. Before, that show almost made people cry, now it feels like they want people to fall asleep.
U Didnt miss shiiiiit I promise. We felt very duped. I’m pretty sure based on what I saw that they use covid excuses to slack. The merch is cheap mostly. Very disappointed in the quality.
I saw it before sunrise 50 years ago as we arrived to play in the 1076 piece ceremonial marching band for grand opening. I was 14 yr old and none of us had ever seen anything like it. We entered the MK through the gate by the firehouse and looked left up Main Street to see the castle. We practiced all day and performed in the afternoon. None of us had ever heard a sound so big as that band that stretched from the RR station all the way to the castle.
I always appreciate your positivity! That being said, you are giving credit where credit is not due. That lack of celebration was absolutely pathetic. They painted some buildings and sold some overprice merchandise. Nothing more. Disgusting!
I agree. While I understand he wants to keep up the positivity for the sake of his channel, it comes across as forced to try to make something out of nothing. It’s all a bunch of hype and no substance. Good effort but in service to nothing worthwhile.
The last 30 seconds is why I appreciate your channel so much. The opening day and 50th celebration is night and day. We should have gotten so much more than .... whatever that was :(
Disney on opening day: literal huge choir filling the entire area in front of the castle, balloons and confetti everywhere Disney on the 50th: cavalcade, rope drop ceremony BUT WITH NEW OUTFITS, fancy merchandise
We were there today and we expected it to be exactly the opposite of what happened. We expected to be browsing the gift shops because the lines for the rides were so long. Instead, we got to ride everything, and some things twice, because of the madness at the gift shops. Kinda sad that there was not more happening to celebrate than a gift shop cash grab…
We had the exact same thought! We had no idea what to expect, were half expecting to sit and people watch all day. But we walked on everything all day and made fun of the popcorn bucket and mercy crazies. We were disappointed that the WDW Company sat the day out, but the cast members were excited and we ended up having a terrific day.
Thank you so much for your ending. I worked at Splash Mountain and was in a bad relationship at the time. I cried, I wished upon a star and 3 weeks later I met my future husband when he was vacationing at the most Magickal place on earth. Disney brought us together and mickey will always hold a special place in our hearts
Brayden even on a day you film and post the same day your video is still one of the best of the day both in details and editing and camera shots. Also you do stuff others don't. Keep up the great work!
I will say I have been watching you for a while now. You have grown so much in your editing and telling of the things going on with Disney. But the end of this video tops it all!! Lots of VLOGGERS have done stories about the 50th, but your ending with the "beginning" of WDW is perfect!! Disney should look into hiring you to get some of the heart and soul back into the company the way it use to be!! Thank you for such great reporting but also for doing it so RIGHT!
I’ve watched the all-day streams for Oct 1, and am underwhelmed. Disney either won’t or can’t hire back the talent they laid off, and it really shows. The execs have degraded the company and reduced the park experience to that of a small regional carnival. Sad, but Universal benefited.
But don’t tell the Disney shills that they will freak out at you. Learned that one the hard way after criticizing/joking about how it’s taking forever for Disney to complete Tron.
@@ninjagirl226 And how they cancelled all the stuff they said they were going to do, like adding the Disney characters to It's A Small World, or redoing the Speedway to look like TRON.... funny how those things were cancelled, but yet still do that overpriced Star Wars hotel...I went to Disneyland's 60th and that was WAY better than this... it's like they didn't even try...😡😡😡😡

Wow that ending! 🥺🥺🥺 Leave it to Brayden to bring in the nostalgic history and celebrate the true beginnings. Why can’t you be on the team that creates the shows?!
Totally said when I heard that the executives did the dedication away from the 1st Oct crowds that they did it because they knew from the true Disney fans they'd get a bad reception. Says it all really. The people at Disney know they're not popular.
B-man, you did a great job. Short, sweet and to the point. I agree, I think the leadership team may not be showing face to avoid a bad PR situation, but then again, that can be taken as bad PR within itself. I was expecting more with all the hype that has gone into this celebration. All that being said, I am sorry that I missed it and was not able to be there today. You hit the nail on the head about the merchandise experience, “Black Friday”.
Your videos are great. Brilliantly edited to cut out the fluff and always honest but not in a negative 'woe betide us' kinda way as despite calling Disney out on what they should do better, you still manage to communicate your infectious enthusiasm for things like Liberty Belle etc.
I was there bright and early. On the 45th I was too far back and vowed to stay at Contemporary and walk over to get a great spot for the 50th ceremony. My disappointment was off the charts when they did NOTHING for us at opening. A huge slap in the face to Walt, Roy and the fans the come back year after year after year. Then to see leadership in the hub filming promos was like them giving us all the middle finger and charging us for it.
Oh wow!😳 So basically they just did, what used to be, a rope drop ceremony? Hope everyone stopped to personally thank Paycheck for taking away half of the magic, and charging twice as much to try to enjoy what's left..😜

That might of been due to the pandemic restrictions, but totally agree. Could of provided a special, grand presentation for the 50th anniversary. I finally figured out Bob Chapek is the world’s greatest magician. Everything he touches disappears. Parades gone, magical express gone, meet and greets, good nighttime fireworks, the most magical place on earth…….all gone.
Oof a focus on Black Friday like retail buying, no leadership speeches. And clear and obvious emphasis on media events for the 50th rather than actual better experiences for the guest in the park. ☹️
It's not like the peasants ever rebel 🤷 I see endless bitching and whining but not one person is putting their money where their mouth is and staying away.
We live near Disney and have been saying for the past month that this was going to be disappointing. It's all about merchandise and projections. Epcot is a disaster right now. Tron isn't close to being ready. WDW Railroad is going on 3 years of being down. I truly wish Chapek would stay out of sight. His lack of emotion and passion for Disney makes me sick.
@@brianhill6842 yeah, because he's void of any emotion for anything but money. I've never seen anyone speak for the company who is so out of touch with the guests or what makes Disney special. It's sadly very depressing.
We where there until yesterday; totally disappointed with Oct 1 opening. It’s basically the early opening show it will be the same every morning. Oct 1 was basically about selling merchandise and food. Overall I did enjoy the energy and excitement of being in the park. Many thanks for all you do!
You’re good, man. Your upbeat, friendly personality got me to watch a video about a place that I’m loathe to go to due to the fact that it requires planning similar to what must have gone on to plan D-day. It’s good to see someone who enjoys what he does so much. That’s worth the watch!
Speaking as a Disney fan who has gone to Disney World for over 25 consecutive years we think that the World's Most Magical Celebration is really the World's Most Monstrous Disappointment. Our local park, King's Island had a Carnival festival with a parade this summer that was 20 times better then the Cavalcades on Disney World's 50th anniversary. Why should we go to Florida anymore and spend the money Disney is charging when I can get just as good or sometimes better entertainment for less and much closer to home.
GREAT JOB, thanks for all your hard work on bringing us a glimpse into the 50th anniversary!!🎉🎉🎉 I believe you nail it on why the top management team was not present. 🤔😊 I was there at MK on Christmas day in 2019 for the most magical sunrise. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤😎
It must have been hard to remain so positive doing the video, when I'm sure that inside you were very disappointed with what you were seeing. Why can't they bring back management that cares more about the product than the bottom line? You really NAILED IT with the ending that you put in Brayden. Sincerely, your newest subscriber, Matt M
Thank you for your wonderful tribute at the end. I wish I could have been there when it was true Disney magic even when I started going in 2013 I feel like things were so much more magical than they are today hopefully the next 50 years will improve
Thank you, Brayden for bringing the magic of the 1st day of the 50th Anniversary to those of us who couldn't be there:) I love your enthusiasm and fresh perspective on all things Disney!
My first nostalgic tears came with your montage at the end (that choir singing on opening day)!!!!!!!!!!!!. I've been glued to EVERYTHING this week, and nothing moved me until your video! Awesome job! I'm heading to your Patreon ... thank you Brayden. ºoº
EXCELLENT coverage! You nailed every sentiment of myself and so many others about Disney "Leadership". In truth, they aren't connected to the original vision and I personally think ruined a great opportunity to reconnect for this 50th anniversary celebration. Great job! LOVED this video!!!!
Oh, so you were one of THOSE people, today, in at the open-open. This video is fantastic. I was hoping to get to meet you, today, but I did not see you. It was such a crazy day. MK was capped out, but waits were tiny - Splash and Space were both walk-ons for most of the day, and EVERYONE was camped on Main Street almost all day to get their fireworks spots.
Bravo Brayden! Always love your videos. Just got back from a trip to WDW a week ago and had an amazing time. Happy 50th birthday to one of my absolute favorite places on Earth. This trip was a very necessary one for me personally and I couldn’t think of a better place to go. I know there is a lot of negativity surrounding Disney management but for today I choose to just embrace the magic! For me, that’s what it has always been about. Brayden, thanks again!
Oh man, the time before opening is exciting. You rarely get to see that, so I'm happy you are showing this as news. It's just what I expected from your video so I'm watching all the ads, too.
Great vlog Brayden!! Much better than a Live stream! I get the excitement of being there for the opening today, but what a slap in the face from management to all the fans for doing absolutely nothing special at park opening. Sorry that's ridiculous waiting 12+ hours for a spot to view Enchantment, especially when it already debuted the night before. But to each there own seems like a waste of a reservation to me. Keep up the good work Brayden, looking forward to your next vlog!! 👍👍
Hey Brayden, my wife and I saw you on Main Street USA and shouted while you were filming. You smiled and waved and clearly restarted your take. While I'm sure you deal with it a lot, we just wanted to say we're sorry! We were just so excited to see you in WDW! You're our favorite Disney Vloger by far and we were looking for you all morning. You did a great job with this video, and sorry again for ruining a take as you were doing your thing.
I was only a few feet in front of you at the castle. I too was bummed there wasn't much of an opening show. Merchandise was nuts, it was impossible to even get a t-shirt.
Beautifully done, Braden! Looks like your video may have been more special than what the WDWco did for the morning? Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
That outro really missed the mark for me. Not because you didn't do a great job with it, but because it really juxtaposed old Disney leadership with new. The corporate cynicism that reflects current leadership looms over the experience and the 50th has been off to a rather disastrous start. Animal Kingdom's new show has people being bombarded by kites and the two new fireworks "spectaculars" have really under-delivered in the worst way possible. All of this in combination with the brawling of eBay price gougers in the Emporium today reflects a sad state of things.
I wanted the second half to snap through hundreds of things from between now and then but for the sake of getting the video out this year I went with just today stuff haha. Thanks for watching! ~Brayden
The only time I got chills watching a variety of coverage for the 50th Anniversary was the last minute of Brayden’s video!! The nostalgia that was missing! 😒Watching a few shots of the opening day festivities compared to today it is astounding how much was missing. Well done and keep up the great work you never disappoint unlike Disney lately!!!!
Thanks so much for your vlogs Brayden! It was my goal for years to go to WDW's 50th Anniversary, but I'm "stuck" in the Netherlands, haha! So thank you for taking us with you and have an amazing time!
I have to agree with everyone before me in the comments, I can’t believe that was it.. that has what has been talked about for so long, new costumes on the characters and 50th merch. wow very disappointed in Disney again.. great job again covering it..
Yeah, they would get booed for sure! The fans are too mad at them right now and I'm glad they know it. So I'm seeing how crowded it is at the castle, but sometimes that can be just because everyone is gathered there and once they spread out it's not so bad. I've watched the wait times today and overall they were pretty low, which I was really surprised about.
We were right there near that boat too Brayden! We were disappointed and felt kind of duped to give up our Halloween trio we do evey year to go to this and at least we got the poster and map set. We were fortunate enough to get 2 sets so 4! 😁the crowds were nuts and I was just happy to be at old key west and get extra hours last wed. The crowd was about as bad as 2019 (going to 1/1/20) New Year’s Eve. I am guessing by 2pm there 700,000 in MK. Easily
I'm currently in the middle of a 10 day trip, and Disney did a damn good job of making October 1st like any other day. The exception being the "madness for merch" event. A highly disappointing day for lifelong WDW fans. After seeing how well DL's 50th was treated by the company, I could only imagine what they'd do for WDW's. Still imagining it, but sadly, the day has come and gone with no chance for redemption. I'm still having my "normal" great time at WDW, but certainly was expecting something over the top for Friday Oct 1.
We figured it would be crazy so we will be happy to watch through your vlogs. My Dad has known three people who just in the last 2 months caught COVID so still nervous about large crowds. Maybe we'll take a trip in Spring Break.
Seeing the opening choir at the end of this video made me sad. That felt so much more magical and special than what they did 50 years later. Thanks for making these great videos, Brayden!
Best 50th anniversary ever. Well i wasn't one of the crazy ones there i went to Hollywood studios and guess what it was dead. Longest had to wait was 35 mins for ror and mickey than did them an hour before close and 10 min wait each lol. Such a nice and calming day at the park, shows why lightning lane is stupid bc that day it would have been worthless. And oo yeah i got one of the 50th popcorn bucket i wanted and waited 5 minutes lol. Laugh if those mickey ear buckets u can get on later in the year.
Adding a little history... Admiral Joe Fowler riverboat actually opened on October 2nd... Very close to opening day. I'm Slightly glad I didn't partake in the madness this year. The last time I dealt with this was in 2011 with the 40th. THAT was insane too, but this looks much much worse!
Thanks so much for this video. Our family was supposed to be there today but due to concerns over covid and our young children we decided to postpone until next spring. It was awesome to see the excitement that we would've experienced even though we couldn't be there ourselves
For me, still planning my trip to florida. But some got changed. I Will spend the Double of time at Universal and Sea World and enjoy the Magic of that awsowe paks
Sunrise at Magic Kingdom is spectacular! Have seen it dozens of times at the Half Marathon and Marathon in January - they let guests in Main Street from about 6:00am until 8:00am to watch the runners (free of charge). Well worth it!
Brayden added more nostalgia to his video then Disney did to the whole park.

Tron isn't close to being ready. WDW Railroad is going on 3 years of being down. I truly wish Chapek would stay out of sight. His lack of emotion and passion for Disney makes me sick.
Did you see his speech next to Bob Iger??? One was completely void of any ability to connect and inspire.
@@brianhill6842 yeah, because he's void of any emotion for anything but money. I've never seen anyone speak for the company who is so out of touch with the guests or what makes Disney special. It's sadly very depressing.
Chapek needs to leave! He‘s a joke next to Iger!
We where there until yesterday; totally disappointed with Oct 1 opening. It’s basically the early opening show it will be the same every morning. Oct 1 was basically about selling merchandise and food. Overall I did enjoy the energy and excitement of being in the park. Many thanks for all you do!
I think this is the happiest I've seen Brayden in a park since Rise opened.
King’s Island Fans here too!
Canadas wonderland is in the same boat
Same. I’m traveling to Cedar Point next week for a fraction of the cost.
Disney is the king of wokeness, that’s why.
There was more love put into Disneyland’s Celebration compared to this.
Liberty Square used to be my second "home" where I used to work on the Liberty Belle. I loved how much you were excited to ride, made me happy :)
I'm heading to your Patreon ... thank you Brayden.
ºoº
I love Disney and all, but there’s no way in hell that I’d get up and be at Disney World by 5am 🤣
You've obviously never done a RunDisney race 🏃♀️
@@anncorrigan9370 that’s true and I probably never will 😂
Well I'd definitely recommend it as they are superbly well organized, entertainment along the way and best of all you don't even have to run! 😉
Well done! I hope the hoards of people losing interest in Disney doesn’t hurt your channel! Maybe expand to Universal?
Bravo Brayden! Always love your videos. Just got back from a trip to WDW a week ago and had an amazing time. Happy 50th birthday to one of my absolute favorite places on Earth. This trip was a very necessary one for me personally and I couldn’t think of a better place to go. I know there is a lot of negativity surrounding Disney management but for today I choose to just embrace the magic! For me, that’s what it has always been about. Brayden, thanks again!
Loved the ending. Was getting WandaVision Vibes with the transitions. I was living for it.
Great coverage of the 50th Anniversary celebration, Brayden!
The editing at the end made me cry! Wonderful job as always!
Brayden needed to be on the 50th event team. Made me more nostalgic for Disneyworld than anything shown in the park that day.
...nice being the first on the boat!... wow!..
Loved the ending clips! Thanks, Brayden, for always leaving me with a happy feeling after watching your vlogs.
The contrast between the festivities of the past and what’s happening today is SHARP
Yep, this celebration is the perfect metaphor for the state of Disney parks at the moment
You are my favorite! This video is great and the ending is spectacular, you totally get it, so thankful for your channel !
Wow, very underwhelming indeed! Looks just like a busy day at Disneyland with a rope drop. Hopefully the evening events are much more special.
The Riverboat segment was awesome. Bringing us real 50th excitement compared to the neutered Disney company
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
oh my gosh setting up and waiting for 12 hours. Thats commitment. Love the ending of this video so much.
~Brayden
I absolutely agree with you. Disney feels so disconnected.
I agree. Disney has done a complete lackluster job with a celebration for a milestone as big as the 50th anniversary. By the way, I love your videos!
Once again, fantastic, spot on coverage! Telling it like it is. Management was disappointing and tacky. Lackluster 50th. So sad.
Thrilled by your profile name and photo! Loved Penelope Pitstop when I was growing up! Any ideas where to watch those cartoons now?
Excellent video. I loved the ending, I was a cast member for the 15th!! It was an amazing time!!
Easily
As always top-notch video it was amazing I actually teared up in my eyes at the end
The Ending of your video gave me more Goosebumps than the new Firework shows for the 50th…. 😩
Thank you for posting! I always appreciate your thoughts and feedback on all-things-Disney!
Best Outro Ever! (And I watch my share of vloggers) Great job Brayden!
Wow! Talk about an underwhelming opening for the 50th birthday! Shame on them.
Great job fighting the crowds. I can’t believe how early people went!
This video was amazing as always, but the end was something special!
Wow what a beautiful ending! Thank you for that! Absolutely amazing!
Thanks for these peeks! I’m glad you were showing it so I didn’t have to fight those crowds!!
1/2 of those people in line for merchandise are going to buy their limit & sell it on Amazon!!!$$$
What a rip!!!
You did a great job man! Felt so happy for you :) thanks from Brazil
thanks for covering, brayden. didn’t seem super exciting, but i always enjoy your perspective. 🎉
I like the way Brayden does his own thing and doesn’t gum up his videos with all the other Disney vloggers in them.
That was brutal. Just brutal. WDW deserves so much better.
Dang Grand Opening was way more extravagant than 50th Anniversary Celebration! Its like a bad marriage anniversary..ye we are still together
🤣
