We love your stuff Eric! 🤙🏽
This is the Eric Hanson channel, no reason to limit your content. I'd love to see it.
The most interesting man award goes to… Eric Hansen! I’m here for anything you make! Woodworking and alternative off grid living content sounds very cool!
Agree!
Ha! Thanks Gordon! I beat out the Dox Equis guy?!
@@eric_hansonThe Dos Equis guy has just been watching you this whole time.
I’m here for any and all of it. Love your personality, presentation and vibe. Would love to see the woodworking and off grid content. One day I would love to come along on one of your guided trips.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the note. I'll probably host another trip next year some time but no plans at the moment.
Definitely don't get stuck in a niche, show us woodworking, show us off grid, show us all. You're such a talented presenter, with a really nice personality and yea, we want to follow along on your adventures! 🤘
aw shucks, thank you!
One thing I always thought about UA-camrs is getting pigeon holed in specific niche and identity. In one time frame it’s so awesome to be able to do something you love and make money. But what if the thing you love changes? How do you do that and keep your brand, your subscribers, keep a livelihood together? Well I can see a shift here that’s so cool. That’s great!!!
I'm a lifelong Carpenter. I love backpacking and watch your channel. Off grid living is also something. I'm interested in.
The travel photography/videography you displayed here from your travels was incredible!
Thank you! I've always loved photography. It was fun going back through those old images.
I have thousands of things I’m keeping from you.
Of course you should go for it! You do what makes you happy and everything else will fall into place.
haha, well, it's probably wise to keep a few things from you.
@@eric_hanson I couldn't comment on the video so I replied to this comment. I have all three original Earthship books. I am disabled and poor so making an Earthship is just a dream at this point for me. My understanding is there are so many downfalls to Earthship construction/ownership that most earthships are not owned by those who started building them.
Haha!😂
@@pyronymph-868 hmm, interesting. Well I know they've come a long way since the inception of the concept decades ago. We're interested in taking earthship concepts into the build, but not necessarily making a pure earth ship. I'm interested to hear your experience!
I’d love to see some variety! Woodworking, earthshipping, you name it! Sounds awesome!
Yeah man, definitely rock some new and different videos. I really respect your courage to do all this.
I'm new to hiking and have watched tons of your videos. Your ease in presentation would translate well to a woodworking video. As a recreational woodworker, I would certainly watch any video you made on woodworking.
I'm good with all of it dude. it is your channel. hike your hike through life man, the trail is not the end all of it.
Thanks so much for sharing more about yourself… and yes to everything!
Love this Eric! It’s a pleasure to have spent time on the trail with you and hear some of these aspects of your life.
Thanks Devin! It was great to backpack with you. Let's cook up another!
Love your videos and the variety that each possesses. From gear reviews to trail cinematography, the personal touch you add to every video is very rare and one of the reasons I started following you. Even though we've never met and probably never will, I'm sure we would be good friends if we did. As far as doing videos about woodworking, building an earthship, and going off grid... I'm here for it! The range of topics would be endless and always give you fresh content to share with the world, so my vote is to go for it!
thank you! And hey, with enough time on trails, we may meet some day!
I've lived in 3 off grid homes in very different setups. I've also watched many videos on the amazing earthships. I'm always looking for new ideas and different ways people live off grid and would love to see what you do. Beautiful photography too!
Yep, I’m a hiker, woodworker, and like the idea of off-grid life. If you get a dog you will have all of my bases covered. Good luck!!
A fellow hiking traveler as well. I'm nowhere near as widely trodden as you. Enjoyed this one. Love the channel Eric.
Awesome. Go for it!!
As a carpenter, who loves the outdoors I am here for all that!
My wife and I follow you for you. Sure, you make great hiking and outdoor videos, but you've always come across as a cool and supportive person who loves sharing what you know. So, I'm fine with other videos beyond just hiking and outdoors stuff 😀
Eric, I found you when you did the backpacking TV videos, and subscribed to this channel when you started it. You do a great job. Been backpacking/hiking/climbing for 50 years when I was a wee Boy Scout. Grateful to the good Lord I still can. I can say a huge YES, I would love to see woodworking, and “pioneer” content.
Amazing! You've been doing the thing for a long time! I love it. Cheers to more!
You have done a great job presenting videos on gear and backpacking. I would enjoy seeing you present other subjects. Wood work and alternative living are subjects I’d watch. Maybe talk gear around you finished projects. Or how you incorporate wood working into the earth ships🤷♂️
While I am not that interested in woodworking/off grid living with your passion you will succeed. You already show what you love and that brings people in. If it is what you love, show it and share it.
Two of my favorite things outdoors (backpacking, camping, whatever) and woodworking... I'm 61 and just discovered I really really like to make things. Right now I'm in the big middle of converting my van. Honestly, I just really like reminding myself I'm alive by taking risks - even if it's just a new joinery idea. As for living off grid? Do it do it and document it. I'll watch!
I am finding it funny how many people who love the outdoors also love woodworking. So much crossover!
I am 100% interested in your carpentry and sustainable building ideas for videos. It's awesome to hear from people on UA-cam about their other interests and could hopefully alleviate any pressure that you might feel from specializing in a single topic.
I would be very interested in seeing your woodworking projects, also your homesteading projects as well
I would love to see your wood working, off- grid living, all of it! Keep the great content and photography coming!
What an incredible journey! Would love to see your wood crafting creations!😎
We all have more than one interest, and I hate to hear when creators are stuck doing what they started out in when it is time for them to expand. I'd absolutely love to learn more about the Earthship stuff too! Do your thing, Eric!
I would truly enjoy additional content about all the topics you discussed in this video. I have enjoyed all your previous work and look forward to the future possibilities. It's not always about the topics, but how it is presented and you have done a wonderful job over the years. Thank you for you contributions!
Hi Erik, I would enjoy seeing more woodworking videos. I also enjoy hearing about why you do whatever it is you’re doing and what you enjoy about it.
We are all more than what those that tend to “label” us. Thanks for sharing your other interests.
You and Wandering Switchback are the only youtubers I know of who consistently respond to comments. I have always admired that. Whatever the content, I'll be watching you videos because you are a good and sincere person.
I think it would be great to see content around the other things that are important to you in life. Interesting people are rarely so because of only one facet of their lives. Even people with a passion are better if they are well rounded, so by all means, share whatever makes you round and therefore whole!
As a retired architect, camper, traveler, hiker, novice woodworker, I would love to see all you do.
I'd watch some woodworking videos for sure. If I lived in a house and had some workspace, rather than a dmall apartment, I would maybe try my hand. I loved wood shop in school.
You have had an adventurous life Eric. Keep on traveling! My grandmother traveled to every continent, including Antarctica. One of my goals is to go camping there sometime 😊
Camping in Antarctica? Well that would be epic! Go get it!
Your layers of experience are what draw my attention to your content, it's obvious you have a complex connection with backpacking/adventure travel and now i understand why. Yes, an occasional creative woodworking video or off grid living, or anything else, is good, it provides a broader perspective of your purpose in life. I've backpacked for 60 years and been around the world, but there's so much more to see and learn, your perspective adds to life's enjoyment.
Please share your woodworking projects!!! My teenage son is a huge woodworker and I bet he would love watching your videos too.
Eric, we thank you for sharing more of yourself than just backpacking. Your table is amazing and we would love to see more! Thanks for sharing....
I would love to see the woodworking side! Maybe another UA-cam channel for just woodworking projects?
Yes I would love to see your other stuff 100% here for it!
Eric, I'm here for any content that you're willing to create and share. Woodworking, travel, gear reviews or storytelling. Keep it all coming!
Bruh, endless content opportunities for off-grid living, but it's been done countless times over so maybe look into establishing sponsor support prior, that way you'll have all the needed capital for ongoing but constant new projects too. I love this idea for a pivot, as it allows the flexibility to continue backpacking and traveling too. Man Im pumped, psyched to see what's next!
Eric your experience and knowledge is a gift to share. Living an alternative life is part of why we watch. You have found a way to project a freedom we all want. Be free to be you.
Without a doubt I would personally love to see woodworking videos as well as the adventures of building or help build an earthship, certainly would also love to be able to watch you and your wife securing land and beginning a new offgrid type lifestyle. Good luck and GODBLESS. Stay sharp ,stay safe you two definitely have it in you.😊
I think you would be surprised by how many of us have the same side hobbies haha! looking forward to all of it!
I love everything about this, can't wait to see what you have in store for us.
shucks, thank you!
Your table is simply magnificent!
I would love to see your future projects.
Woodworking and backpacking are 2 of my favorite hobbies! You and Justin were what got me excited to backpack when I first started 2 years ago. You're very relatable to me so I'd really like to see more of your passions here as well!
I would love to see more of what you make and what you do. I really loved the table that you made, and building an off grid home would be really fun to watch.
Thank you for sharing! Yes to all of your idea's and content. Scare yourself a little ! That's my motto. Colorado Girl
Go for it. Coffee tables. Building. It all!! YOU ROCK ERIC
Totals for opening up. Your creativity is very worthwhile.
Woodworking is an excellent addition. My two favorite things. Woodworking and the outdoors.
Bring it on! Definitely into the wordworking. I would like a mini-series on Earth Ship... what it is, who does it, why, why do you want to participate...
All of that sounds great! And sounds like topics plenty of backpackers would enjoy watching. DIY furniture, alternative eco friendly living, that seems pretty in line with us crazy hippie backpackers to be honest
Love watching your videos. I’ll watch whatever you put up. Stay positive and best of luck in the future!
Thanks for sharing your story Eric, I too am interested in woodworking and off grid living, so I am interested in watching those videos!
Hey Eric, you do a great job with your videos. You can definitely make a woodworking video. I also enjoy making things out of wood and would really like to see you in action. The video you made with the van transformation was a good one. Go for it!
I’m down. I enjoy the videos you make so make videos about things you’re passionate about and I’m sure we, the viewers, will continue to be drawn in.
Fascinated by off grid living. Would love to see it on ur channel. Love ur videos and ur positivity.
Hell yeah dude! I'm here for it all!
Hiking/Woodworking/Homesteading...bring it on! Loved this video!
great video. enjoy knowing more about you and your life experiences. keep the amazing content coming.
Thank you so much!
Dude!!! I’m not a backpacker or hiker. I don’t even own a backpack!! But here I am constantly watching your channel!! Love the content! The cinematography. The story thru camera. The adventures. I actually look forward to the next one! I do enjoy camping, hunting and the water. I’ve taken many ideas from you for those activities. Maybe one day you’ll see me on the trail. Just keep churning out content my friend!!
ha! amazing. I really appreciate that!
Most interesting it seems all of us backpackers have the same common interests, I too have remodeled houses and love woodworking was a runner also.
Awesome, do the earth ship and woodwork. I'll watch this for sure and please keep your hiking reviews and travel. Hopefully one day I'll join you on a hike.
Bring on the alternative videos! Your trip and gear videos are some of the best content available, they do a great job balancing entertainment and education. I can only imagine how good some of your other genres could be.
Go for it! Your content is always great, no matter what the subject is 😊
You're one of the realest UA-camrs I've watched. Useful videos AND being entertaining is hard to come by. Great transition of content.
Right? Not that I would show up on his doorstep, but I feel like Eric is a friend!
I’d love to see some of the other things you’d be keen to share!
Great idea, Eric. Sharing a bit of yourself makes your channel a personal experience for us too.
Yeah, do it! I love seeing well-rounded content!
I have started watching more woodworking videos here and there. I don't know what draws me to it, so I would love to see and hear how woodwork fits into your life and mental state. I feel there is a connection between these two hobbies and don't know what it is yet
Awesome! Film what ever bro I'll be watching!
Woodworking videos sound fascinating. I'd love to see your projects.
Awesome Eric! you're living my dream!
Love your ideas! I think most of your followers will be open to whatever you offer.
You're a great blessing to the backpacking community! Your experience is invaluable ❤❤!
We agree!!! 💯
Thanks for sharing more about yourself Eric. I think you sharing more about yourself and your other passions in life will give more depth to your channel.
Thank you! Yeah I will keep rolling out more of myself through the channel, I appreciate it.
Eric I’m here you. I enjoy your personality and I’m up for all
kinds of video topics from you including furniture making and homesteading. It’s your channel I say follow what makes you happy
Absolutely love whatever direction the channel takes. Bought into you and what you’re sharing with the world #KeepItComing!
Love your shared content! I would enjoy seeing your wood working projects and other projects you and your wife tackle.
excellent! Thank you!
My wife and I live in Maine in our Earthship. We lived in a canvas hunting tent for 2 years full time while we got our start. Sounds like you have some fun stuff coming up. I love the guided trips and woodworking. My wife even added some veins of colored epoxy to our upper beams in our house. I’ll watch the new content. You and I have a lot of crossover. Building, Spanish, wood working, hiking etc.
great channel. Keep up the great work!!!
You're one of my favorite UA-camr's!! Earth Ship's are Incredible!! To get to build and have one would be EPIC!! Congratulations guys!! 🎉🎉🎉
I'm down to watch any type of content that you wanna do. Really enjoy you and all your videos, you do such a great job of everything you do. 🤘👍
... Awesome video .... Incredible past opportunities .... Who Knew ??? .. As an Outdoorsman ,, Backwoodsman and Carpenter ... I'm impressed ...
We are here for you Eric! 💪
Thank you!
I would love to see you expand the channel. I think one of the things I enjoy beyond our shared enjoyment of backpacking and the outdoors is your genuine style and varied experiences. It keeps bringing me back and enjoying your videos. I am a woodworker as well and it’s such a pleasure to spend time creating something. I’d enjoy seeing your ideas and projects. Looking forward to it.
I appreciate that!
Yes to woodworking content!
Post it all man! Love watching your vids!
In life you have to follow your dreams. Dreams create success and happiness. I'll follow along monitoring your journey and hopefully learning from your creations! I just hit my 85th birthday and my pledge to myself was to continue pursuing adventure and documenting as long as possible with my cameras. We're still hiking all over the San Juan's, southern Utah, and other destinations. I'm still a CPA and a consultant, but I'd rather be an exploring media creator. I hope you don't mind me copying some of your creation tricks as we continue to explore along the mountain trails and desert canyons. Your a good teacher! Thank You. 😀
Yes, please do show us your wood working projects! I’d love to see them. 😊
Hi Eric, I watch this channel because of you! :) So yes I am interested in all parts of your life that you would share with us...
Give us all the videos! Haha. Seriously woodworking, building homes, it all sounds really cool and definitely something I would watch!
OMG! I Would love to see some woodworking and off-grid related content. Honestly with your photography/videography experience I know it would be great.
There are so many wonderful off-grid content creators that are killing it in the YT space. Not related to them at all, but too see you with an @AmbitionStrikes colab would be so awesome! They have a wealth of knowledge that I think would complement your experience greatly. I think your two personalities and experiences would be a perfect mix.
Their mechanical/construction and offgrid knowledge mixed with your photography, backpacking, and sustainability knowledge would be a perfect match.
Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you! I'm on the lookout for people documenting their off-grid lifestyle really well.
Bring it! I love all of the creative ideas!
Eric, I love the idea of some more personal content. As I understand it, the advice is usually to stick to what you do and just do that as to not loose an audience with confusing content. However, it would be fair to say you have a very solid following and anything new could only add to your tube-folio success. I'm definitely all for it 🙌🏼
Great content Eric! Would def want to see some of your other interests and look forward to your new videos this summer 🏕️🥾
Love your content. I’m definitely on board with all your video ideas, you were floating. Keep it flowing.
