your the cat on bass mr philpot.. and thank you for slowing it down, for me once you speed up im lost !!! im going to to go over this a lot !!!! cheers .... robert
Awesome bass lesson, as always! I started learning from your bass videos years ago. This video about the diminished scale makes the concept easier to understand. Diminished stuff can be heard in great bass solos, but difficult to understand because of the "speed" of the solos. Lol. Besides yourself, which bass players that we all listen to uses the diminished scale (and or arpeggios and or fragments) in their solos? I guess I may try to transcribe one. Lol.
Hey there JR... Apologies for the late reply to this this ! Ok so.... this is actually a prototype model that one of the head luthiers at Xotic built for me after we went through a few different prototypes- and it’s a passive J with an Alder body Xotic pick ups , rosewood ‘board. and very thin nitro finish...💥 I love this Bass!! I’m not sure if this will ever actually be a production model but it’s one of my favorite passive Basses that I own..
Thanks for the video. Can't say I could unpack everything you were talking about.
Glad you enjoyed it!

An emphatic, "Thank you!", to you, Rufus! It's a great start to the journey....
