Nemophila can play any style with excellence. The guitar work was tastefully done and Mayu’s vocals were outstanding. She’s one of the most versatile vocalists around.
Great metal bands know how to pull it back and do something gorgeous like this. My favorite Nemophila ballad is still "Now I Here", because of the guitar duet, but yes, this is a great power ballad. They are keeping the flame alive, for sure. Thank you for continuing with Nemophila.
The singer is Mayu; the guitarist on our left who played the main solo is Hazuki; the guitarist on our right who played most of the lines that tracked the vocal is SAKI; bass is Hara-chan and the drummer is Tamu. This song was written by Ryosuke Imai for an anime. It was arranged by their frequent collaborator Kensuke Akiyama. Akiyama-san arranges most of their tracks and also writes songs for them. The members also write songs, sometimes with Akiyama.
The mellower side of Nemophila. It has the essence of all the power ballads I listened to in the 80's, as you said. It showcases Mayu's 'head' vocals more than her vocal fry for once but she still has that Bonnie Tyler/Heart/Stevie Nicks melodic, soaring and powerful sound which is matched/harmonised with the lead guitar. I particularly love that build-up into the last verse and the sweet finish.
@@bobcieslinski Always great to see another reaction from you, to Nemophila or others like Band-Maid and Lovebites. Have you found Wagakki Band or Ningen Isu yet?
This little Lady (Mayu) can sing!!!!! She really touches your soul with this one!!!!! Don't know if you have heard of the Korean Rock Band "ROLLING QUARTZ" but they are very good with a unique vocalist!!!!! They are currently on their Euro-tour!!!!! Thank you for supporting all these bands!!!!!
Mayu is the vocalist and does growls to singing. Tamu is the drummer, considered one of the best in Japan. Interestingly I read she at one time did not like herself but now has a kid and seems happy. The two guitarists, Saki (usually on the right) and Hazuki are both well known and have played with other bands. Hazuki often accompanies Lisa-X on her songs. Saki played for Mary’s Blood amongst others. Haraguchi-san is bass, and always shines with smiles. Anyways, all are renowned for their playing ability in Japan. They do covers such as a Kiss song (including makeup) to Journey, as well s their own songs. Very versatile!
They really surprised everyone with this release. Personally, I hope they do more like it. To me it proves they are so much more than just a cover / metal band with screams and fry vocals. These ladies are true musicians. Mayu really shows of her vocal chops with this one to. Hazuki did a very good, classy guitar solo. And that look from her at the end, very nice touch. I understand some Japanese. I lived there 10 years, I better know some..lol. Even form people who know no Japanese, she really puts across the emotion of the song.
Glad you enjoyed this one. Their song Now I Here is similar, however with a very nice guitar solo section. The live version of that song is probably better than the studio. Anyways thanks for the reaction and picking up those particulars that help create the song.
Some bands have already fallen flat on their faces with such songs, but imo the ladies have done everything right with this one, as they did with 'Life', 'Game Over' or 'Now I Here'. Mayu has a fantastic voice that really comes into focus here. 🤘🏻 _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. Hey Bob.. Great reacton as usual.. Check out their new song Ama-Te-Ras live.. Lol like chalk and cheese with this one.. There is nothing these ladies can't do.;They have covered all the greats, from Metalica to Journey, and everyone inbetween.. Lol But their originals are Kick A** Go to their page and check it out.. They really are a once in a lifetime band.. Best wishes from France
Hmmm, don't see my previous post. Anyways, for the complete other side of Nemophila, I would recommend Raitei at ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html or Dissension at ua-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/v-deo.html for all the growls ;)
This was written and recorded for an animated movie, Oshiri Tantei which translates...no kidding...to "Butt Detective." It's a Japanese kid comic/book series.
@@bobcieslinski thanks I will probably get the wireless version especially since the brand is known for good audio stuff like Sennheiser Sony Bose and the other electronic brands I’m gonna get the M50xBT2 headphones
I enjoyed your reaction and appreciate your analysis. I would enjoy it if you went even deeper. MAYU does a bunch of new things here including sitting down and using a mic stand. And HAZUKI is usually blowing us away with her shredding, but the power of her lyrical solo is astonishing. And listen closely to the intertwining guitar lines from SAKI further back in the mix. Try the latest video from NEMOPHILA. AMA-TE-RAS will surprise and delight you totally different ways.
Hi Bob thank you for your reaction. I don't this group, but enjoyed listen to this. I must have missed your first reaction to them. I have tried to join your channel membership however unfortunately I get this message. ->The product has not been launched in the country. Please listen to Forestella . They are a South Korean classical crossover group that came together because of the South Korean programme Phantom Singer 2.If you decide to venture down the rabbit hole that is Forestella, try and do it chronologically. Their first appearances were more classical, while they ventured into various genres ( in terms of song choices, putting their own spin on songs) in there later appearances. The song Champions are my favourite and is more classical ( The Seoul Festa performance are one of the best).Their harmonies are spectacular.

I loved this one Jesse.
I did forget to add that Saki's and Hazuki's guitars meld so well together. They have different tones but blend to put out some powerful sound.
That’s a good one too. You would notice that being a guitar player yourself. Nice one.
Rock ballads are literally my sweet spot. This song put a huge smile on my face. These ladies are SOOO GOOOOOOD!
I don’t think anyone can do a ballad better than a metal band
💯
NEMOPHILA have already delivered many other musical surprises. They are quite versatile and never boring.

Yep, this song sounds like it was written by Diane Warren, produced by Mutt Lange and recorded in Nashville. Ladies killed it!
