Emily fits right in, I've been a fan of hers since Dead Sara, and admittedly I didn't know her name until she joined LP.. This track makes me cry happy tears, Linkin Park is back baby!!
I love, love Emily. I literally think they couldn't have picked better. It's not just about the skill, it's about the chemistry too, and from the interviews and behind the scenes, you can see that Emily has such a good chemistry with the rest of the band that it almost makes you think they've been together for years. This whole album is a 10/10 banger for me, and I'm excited for what more Emily will bring to the band. And of course props goes to everyone, everyone in LP still slays it. And can't forget about our other new member Colin, he's also such a spectacular addition.
It's all Linkin Park. There is Linkin Park with Chester, and no we have Linkin Park with Emily. both are good, just different. I'm liking this new era. The 4th single off From Zero, "Heavy is the Crown" is my favorite of those. Haven't got to the rest of the album yet. The 3rd one, "Over Each Other", is different from the other 3, Emily sings the whole song.
I agree with you I am liking both versions of this group. I did that Heavy is The Crown but I didn’t know it was on the new album. I heard it in a show I was watching and saw Emily and Nike sang on the song so I did that version of it. If I had known it was on the new album I would have done their full version.
I absolutely love having Emily in this band and I’m also loving the new Linkin park sound this coming from someone who grew up with this band in the 80s and 90s and also a huge fan of the old sound to.

I miss Chester so much and no one can ever do what he did. But Emily does her own different thing, not trying to replace Chester, just being Emily, which is different, and I also love that. I wish Chester was here so badly, it hurts my heart that he’s not here, but to see his friends making music again makes me glad, because I think it’s what he would have wanted. I don’t know that of course, I just suspect it’s probably the case. Chester did what he did because of a lifetime of traumatic memories that just kept pulling him back into his own personal hell, if you read about his childhood and stuff you’ll know what I’m talking about, it’s pretty shocking. He only wanted his awful pain to end. He never wanted to hurt his friends or stop them from making music. When you are having a bad flare up of PTSD or depression, you can’t think straight, you genuinely believe that you don’t add anything to anyone else’s lives and they don’t really like you anyway. He would have still known on some level, but I don’t think he would have really properly known how totally it would shatter his band mates and his family for the next 7 years, and forever. I say all that to say, I can’t speak for Chester, I don’t know what he would have wanted, but my suspicion is that he would want Linkin Park to come back. He would want to see Mike and the others continuing their passion and their life’s work. He only wanted his own mental torture to stop, he just wanted freedom from the decades of constant pain and sadness every day inside his own head, he never wanted to end the project they fought so hard to build together, and he never wanted to stop them all from doing the thing they love.
I was never a huge fan. loved some of the songs, but never as a real fan. But the new Linkin Park are great. maybe I am a fan now^^ Emily is great. She is not Chester and never will be, but that is perfekt. It´s a new start for them and the have fun, doing what they love to do. Just wonderful
