j'ai eu la chance , ou la malchance, de voir ce mythique navire, ou du moins ce qui en restait il y a des années, ça faisait mal au coeur , je n'ai pas eu le courage de prendre de photos,
The letter (important message in separate envelope, shown in video at 8:53) is something I remember reading as a kid building this. Would love to get a copy (or have you post a copy) of this letter. The kit build certainly brings back memories as does the "model of the month club" membership (sounds like I lasted longer than you did).
Nice video sorry about how it came to you :( something similar happened with the Titanic model I received through the mail. Looks like someone sat on the box and a few casualties in the end still kept it and have it almost finished :). Its not exactly like the actual ship, had to improvise with paint and stuff. I really really hope you are able to find another (if not the same) similar model that you could build because i know that feeling of dying to open it up and put it together lmao. You should've seen my first real model (not a snap) it was the 94 dodge ram smh it was horrible haha so don't feel bad about yer older builds ya did as a youngster lol that tube glue was evil
Yeah! I build the Calypso, Cousteau's PBY and the Polaris Sub !!!!! before I was 12 ... I feel special :) I never did an NCC-1701... because as models go it looked booooooring ;)
Found one of the last kits (1986) on eBay for US$80. Still decorates my book shelf after ten years since I built it.
Awesome!
Just got one mint in the box still wrapped unopened for $140.
Nice! great score! Are you going to build it?
Just acquired this kit from shopgoodwill for $66 couldn’t believe it

Je comprends tout à fait mon ami. La voir ainsi est très douloureux. Il n'y a vraiment pas eu de mises à jour de ses réparations non plus.
I grew up looking forwards to those TV specials. That cool French accent still sticks in my memory
I feel the same way.

Funny you should bring up the Polaris Sub. I was just thinking of getting one again. Of course, the one I made as a kid came out looking horrible!
