It is awesome and you can always change it back for downhill. ill bet it feels way different. I have always wanted to try rigid forks on a full suspension mtb.
Tom, just curious. You have 5 bikes of every use from to enduro to trials and more. Why turn a downhill into what is now, essentially, is another enduro? As a guy who has only one bike and dreamt of owning a downhill, I think you’ll miss those double crown forks on a true downhill run.
Hey Tom. I'm completely new to emtb but have over 20 years on motocross bikes. Im looking at the Yamaha ydx-moro emtb. If I do get the bike I'd like to swap out its single crown fork to a dual crown. Any help with what parts and or tools I may need would be great. Thanks for the great video.
HI Tom, Have you thought about switching the shock to an air shock? That will give you a lot more adjustability in terms of spring rate on the fly with a shock pump. Other than that you will need to put a bigger spring in and probably need to get it tuned with a heavier compression tune. You will loos a little of the suppleness with an air shock but for what you are doing I don't think that will be much of an issue.
Would a suicide bar be possible? I mean like a flick of the bars and suey in one? It'd make the spin less accurate, but you have your eyes on the bar anyway. And with the grips as you have them now, you would in theory be able to predict what happens, wouldn't you?
Dude i done this to my commencal furious, i changed the dh forks to single crowns 180mm travel. Bike is so playful. Plus i run a 500lb spring on the rear coil, im just under 12 stone and it works a dream
Yo! Im in the process of rebuilding my furious into a single crown, looks like the 180mm 27.5 zeb has the closest axel to crown length as the boxxer that came stock on it, should work right?
Needs to be a 180 or 190 38 to keep geo roughly the same as dh bike and also allow the bike to be more balanced as its 200 rear and 160 front which is a silly difference

I don't know why it worked but it was a sick vid as always. Keep the sick content up 🤟🤟

For the bar spins and tail whips
It's content for his channel.
He can just quickly swap it over
How'd you fit the tapered steerer tube?

Been thinking for a while and I do think it needs to happen! I like the bike stuff and this coil I have is way too soft!
Yes change to an air shock. My stock dhx2 was recalled they gave me the float x2. The float x2 is like riding on a cloud

Looks amazing 😍
Thanks?

Sick! Sounds perfect! They ride so good with a single crown!

I’ve been wanting to do this to a dh bike for ages I probably missed it in the video but is that 38 180mm?
160mm I believe dude!
You can adjust that 38 up to 180 mm which would keep the geometry closer to where it should be on that frame
Dirthill 💯
Looks amazing
Thanks dude!
Pretty cool 😁
Thanks! 🤟
Does this guy actually need brakes at all?
Naa never!
Nice,single speed her m8
Thanks dude!
Did he ever actually tell us the travel of the new forks?
That bike deserves to be ridden in places like Dyfi and Wales Bike Park
Agreed! It needs to happen!

but he didn't want to keep the geometry
Did he ever actually tell us the travel of the new forks?
नमस्ते
Air shock, brakes and go flex that new painted lid at dyfi or wales
That’s exactly what needs to happen!
Linda bike 🇧🇷🇧🇷
🤟🤟🤟
