Double check your written material for your mattresses, those foam mattresses usually say the slats under them should be no further than 8 inches apart, to save the mattress and have more comfort you may want to put some wood or plywood under them.

off subject comment. i was a flooring installer and later a service manager for a carpet store. i seen you have a steam mop, it can be used to get the carpets to lay a little flatter. try it on a part that won't be seen first to make sure it doesn't get to hot and melt the fibers. all you need to do is start slowly dragging it across the carpet in one direction (not a back and forth scrubbing action) and this will lay the fibers all that way and it will soften the backing too. carpet is basically like your hair, when you wake up its all over the place, but when you take a warm shower, it lays back down in one direction. the way some of your carpets were rolled up with the sharp creases in them, they may never lay flat as the backing fibers have been stretched in unnatural directions for so long. i have seen some that never lay flat again even when doing a wall-to-wall installation with a big power stretcher. it just depends on the type of backing and for long it was folded up. good luck from Montana.

Welcome home. Jeremy your shirt you had on at the airport "Raised on Rice" made my day. My dad spent alot of time in the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, and that region, I grew up on rice. My husband and I eat rice at least 4 times a week. I am so glad you are moving into the house. Your family is so adorable when you all play together and worked as a team getting the house clean. Well raised kids. Until next Saturday hope you get everything moved in and are getting settled. Love you guys.

Congrats on finally getting soft items in the house! With new rugs usually vacuuming several times each day the first week or two will also help a lot with flattening them out. Also with shag rugs having a carpet pad underneath will keep them fluffy years longer(and makes them even more fluffy😁).

I was a flooring professional at home Depot for 6 years, and they sent me to various schools to learn about carpets and rugs and I'll tell you them folding that rug was a bad thing. Depending on what sort of backing was behind it. If it was jute backing that's the worst you can do to a jute back carpet. If it's a woven back it's not as crucial. So if those lumps and bumps don't smooth out it's because of the packaging not because of whatever you did

LAX is an experience of its own. I was stuck there with my two youngest children 4 & 5, alone. We were coming home from Sandpoint, flew out of Spokane. My husband was waiting at Palm Springs airport. There was a bomb scare, we were wondering why there were hundreds of police officers in pairs. My husband told us he was coming to get us, and to have them pull our luggage. Well….some of our bags went to Alaska, and another to Seattle.
We were so glad to see Daddy when he got to LAX for us. They delivered our bags the next day to our home.

It was interesting to see how everyone's energy came back all at once after the arduous trip. I had thought that air travel was smoother in the USA than here in Europe but it seems much the same mess of waiting then connections being 'iffy' as people and baggage are treated the same.
When you got home and started the roll out of flooring and bedrooms taking shape you became like a single entity as a team of individuals with greater maturity and role-taking by the older kids but without losing a single atom of what makes you such a happy family.
When things occasionally go wrong -- usually weather related -- you are ALL in action by age, strength and size. It really is totally amazing.

So you don't have to put a box spring or a board underneath their bedding so it doesn't fall through?

We lived in the Philippines and Panama . We ate lots of rice with different spices. Moved to the south and new ways of eating rice. I love rice...and taters!
Watching y’all roll around on your new rugs brought back awesome memories. When my dad retired from the military we lived in a small camper for 5 months until they decided where to live and and buy a house. We were so excited to spread out and rolled all over our new shag rug... and have ice in our drinks! So happy for y’all. - watching from Lake Wales, Florida

My daughter was stationed at JBLM. I flew in and out of the Seattle airport a lot to see her and the grandkids. It was interesting to see you walk through the airport in areas that I had been to as well. It was as if we could have passed one another in the hall. Life is a cool adventure and one fascinating walk through space/time. Pay attention, and you get to see a great dog, a family building their dream home, and a city so populated that it drives the governance of the entire state. Watching the swallows of Capistrano and the annual southern arrival of the Canadian geese, all those little things and then the big things. Life. Drama. Joy. Peace. And then, finally, moving into that wonderful house. And so much more to come. Welcome home, guys. Welcome home!

I’ve been following you and Jeremy since you packed up your first home…Jeremy’s last day as a police officer, all the way here. In all this time, I don’t think I have ever written a comment. Lol. Now that you’ve started moving in, I’m so excited for you guys!
I feel like an adopted part of the family and I’m over here, eyes all welled up with tears, watching this video! 😆
You have been such an inspiration to me Melissa as a wife and Mom! Thank you for sharing this journey. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you build your beautiful home! To see the finished product from the visions in your head, is absolutely amazing. You can design a house for me anytime! I can only imagine the sunrises in that beautiful kitchen.
I cannot wait to see the rest and what is to come! Beautiful family, beautiful home. Wishing you many blessings!

I believe going away whether on vacation or just a quick weekend trip makes us all so much more appreciative of "HOME"!
Seeing the kids smiles driving up the driveway tells us you guys have truly made a place they love and feel most comfortable at. That's one of our most important jobs as parents!
    Well done!🥰

I love your raised-on-rice shirt, rice is what we grew on our farm until we retired in December 2019, when we moved from Nothern California to Twin Falls Idaho. On a side note, the Wilhelms, from Tin Barn Farm, stopped by here after delivering your horses to pick up one of my mares that I sold to Alan Palmer. Small world.

After spending a week in one of the black holes in that state, I’m sure coming home was a big relief and to realize just what a peace of heaven you have created in Idaho. Great place to visit once was enough for me.

I have mostly good memories of travelling by plane with our four kids. It was 25 to 35 years ago when air travel and life seemed simpler. Great to see you on the final steps of moving into the house. I'm sure everyone will give a collective aaaaahhhhh the first night you're all under that gorgeous new roof.
