Chris Block is the absolute best American reviewer. He knows everything about the boat. He actually knows what the different parts of the boat are called. He's the only American reviewer I've heard who calls the saloon "the saloon". It's not a salon. A salon is where you get your hair styled or your nails painted or even a Brazilian. They don't do that sort of thing in the saloon on a yacht.
I found your tour eazy to listen to. Better than most. A great boat. Disappointed by the angled internal chart station. Psychological I want to face where I'm heading.
We appreciate your feedback in regards to the tour and we are glad that you liked the boat. Pretty sure that changing the angle of the chart table shouldn't be a complicated fix.
Hello. Yes, the Lagoon 46 is a fantastic catamaran and the favorite or more than one of us around here. If you are in the South Florida area, the boat can be viewed at the Lauderdale Marine Center, right next to our floating offices. Thank you for watching the video.
20 tons - that’s a big PIG! The mail sail looks as small as a napkin! Tiny chart plotter I would have expected room for at least 27in. Great boat if you stay at the marina all the time. Excellent walk thru - Thank you brother.
The thing missing imo, is the helm station (or alternate helm station) on the aft deck port side. Also, the exterior forward cabin trim overhang has more of a design which seems to direct rain water into the windows and to run down the lower window seems. I would've recommended the design so that the water would drip straight down.
It seems to me that an “owners” version and the fly bridge are mutually incompatible. I don’t imagine many owners will appreciate such remoteness from the rest of the yacht at any time, let alone in docking situations where it is probably hazardous when short handed
Yes, most electric winches allow for manual operation in case of electrical failure. This boat is currently available for showing in our "Catamaran Row" inside the Lauderdale Marine Center. Getting better. But not quite there yet. Almost anything under 50 foot can utilize a boom furling main. No more reefing, and no more lazy jacks. Also, lower the boom and hard top at least 12 inches. You won't be standing at the helm all the time. The two attached showers can be consolidated into Jack and Jill heads, thereby increasing the size of the guest suites. I guess it's about time for me to bite the bullet, and just have some custom modifications done.
@Geoff Strebel Yes, more sail area closer to the deck. Thereby slightly minimizing the chance of being over-run in a freak squall while on passage. I'm a sport top guy. A Fly Bridge on a boat shorter than 60' is for tourists.
Hello. So far this boat is only offered with a flybridge. We haven't heard any news of a sport top option being prepared, but if and when this does happen, you will certainly hear about it in our channel. Thank you for watching.
With an experienced crew it is certainly possible. Remember that most Lagoon boats are brought over to the US on their own bottoms, so by the time an owner of a new boat takes possession, these boats have already crossed the Atlantic once.
@@jjjoooojjj If you watch Catamaran IMPI, theirs is a L440 fly, they sail that thing everywhere...Watch their crossing of Bass Straight( Australia - Tasmania)
The benefits provided by having a vent, outweigh the potential trip hazard in the view of the designers. It's nice to walk into a boat, and not be greeted by the all too common smell of humidity. These vents provide air flow inside the boat, without having to open the hatches and they can take rain or rough seas. Flush mounting the hatches greatly minimizes the area where you could trip over. The hatches and the vents are made by Lewmar, and if there is a better solution, they can easily be swapped.
The vents are part of a system meant to keep air circulation throughout the boat, and which includes fans in several areas, location of the AC vents, etc. We have never seen a buyer back out from purchasing a Lagoon boat because of the vents on the hatches. Most buyers realize the importance of this, fully aware that the vents and hatches are easily replaced if needed.
Different types of hatches could be installed on the boat. In this case, it's very practical to have ventilation built in for air circulation. Thank you for watching our videos.
The Catamaran Company I have seen these leak on many occasions, fail and then the replacement is a nightmare. I fully understand air circulation but have to replace them and have customers bitch because they a loud, don’t work like the old ones that failed .... .
And Lagoon still can't get the floors right. Every lagoon I've been in have squeaky floors. Who wants to pay well over a half a million dollars and get squeaky floors?
After being on many boats from different manufacturers, we can attest that squeaky floors are present in just about any boat at this price point. Thank you for your comment.
A quick fresh water rinse every now and then, and after a day on the ocean can do wonders. We thank you for watching and invite you to subscribe to our channel.
Hi! Have a look a this Nautitech 40 Open video, showing a dual helm station configuration: ua-cam.com/video/Ca303WKbs_k/v-deo.html it offers an alternative to a flybridge setup. They also make it as a 46'. Thank you for watching our videos and for your comment.
All of that seating in the stern of the boat on the main level none of the seats are big enough to sleep on. Personally a bad design. If you can't sleep outside its a big fail.
Thank you for your feedback, but also remember that parts of the layout are customizable when ordering from the factory, in order to satisfy a buyer's different needs. Feel free to reach one of our brokers at yachtsales@catamarans.com to learn about the different options. Thanks.
Catamaran builders need to strike a fine balance between features that appeal to a growing market, and those that more experienced users, or "die hard" enthusiasts are looking for. This is not always easy to do, and with all the ever increasing development costs required to bring a new model to market, some prefer to play it safe. Feel free to watch more of our videos and subscribe to our channel to see the wide variety of catamarans we offer for sale.
I do think Chris did a perfect no nonsense ( no bullshit) walkthrough. The best I’ve watched and most informative. Thank you Sir. 🇦🇺
We'll make sure Chris gets your nice message. Thank you very much and keep watching!

Large saloon, and plenty of storage, places to get personal space, just wonderful.

Have these designs of the 46 been improved over the substandard bulkhead designs of the 450 series?
Love this but would show a lot better if ya backed the camera up so you could see everything.

If I have a CPAP breathing machine I need to use at night as i suffer from sleep apnea what adaptor do I need to plug it in ?
If your machine uses standard 110 V type plug, then you wouldn't need any special adapter.

Why go to all the trouble of fitting flush hatches only to stick a vent that blends in with the hatch and becomes a terrible trip hazard?
