I have the 2500 in a fully controlled ambient theater room and its amazing, this thing is bright, sharp and Dolby vision WOW!!!! Best purchase I did it the last 30 years of buying high end tv's
I've received and been using the Awol 3000 Pro for two weeks now, and here are my thoughts. Most video reviews show the projection with a red tint, but in reality, the colors are vibrant when viewed with the naked eye. The biggest advantage of this laser projector is its clarity: the focus is very sharp, every point is crisp, even when I project at 120 inches, and the blacks are deep enough. I didn't notice any lag during gaming, having tried racing and fighting games, and the brightness is sufficient. The downside is that the contrast isn't as high, making the overall picture look a bit dim, but you get used to it after a while. I'm curious to see how it compares to the 3500 Pro and whether that $1500 price difference really makes a significant impact.
@@jeremycai9782 yes, when you use a phone or camera to capture the screen, because the laser has a particularly wide color gamut, some sensors might not be able to handle it properly. They might react to this specific red light source, so the captured image might appears red. However, when you look at it with the naked eye, the color appears very normal.
Great review. The quality of the content, Black levels, DV. 3D, 8ms refresh rate. My fingers are getting tired so I’ll stop listing all the features. For $2900 introductory offers, this could be the best deal ever in the UST market.
I love the videos he does BUT wish he would answer some of the questions; such a great reviewer but there really are some good questions that could use clarification.
The Awol came out on top of the UST laser projector tests in the Hook Up. The absence of the rainbow effect and speckle is a big plus, but in my view there is still room for improvement. They have to implement the latest official Google tv, instead to waist a HDMI port for the fireTV 4K stick. To process all this, a MediaTek Pentonic 1000 CPU is the most suitable CPU for this, together with 4 GB mem and 32 GB storage for apps, this CPU supports 4 HDMI ports (instead of 3 HDMI ports now) this chip has two 2.0 and two 2.1 HDMI ports. That would really live up to the name 'Awol pro'! I hope AWOL reads this too, i would buy it instantly.
Is the projector the same as the older models 2500 and 3500? Do they all have the ricoh F2.0 glass lens or does this new model have this? I know DV and 3d is compatible with all models.
Is the "Control 4" an upgrade for all their projectors or just the 3000pro? They need to redesign the location of the Firestick. My Firestick (have and tried several and new batt) has trouble connecting to the remote. Don't have that problem with any other device. It appears since the remote and AWOL are at almost the same level it is blocking the remote RF signal. Other than that I am super super happy with my 2500.
What is the laser speckle story on this machine. Does it produce a quality image on a wall or regular matte white screen. Those ALR screens add $1200 or so to the investment. Thanks for the review.
I tested the hight model LTV 3500 on a white roan wall at 150". The projector shows perfectly, only with very high brightness, which reduces the visible contrast. The LTV 2500 model, with its brightness of 2000 ANSI, is much better suited for a simple white wall than the TOP model.
Question: Will Dolby Vision automatically enable with the AWOL Vision 3000 Pro? I purchased the 1st generation (AWOL 3500) which didn't receive Dolby Vision certification, which made me doubt the quality of this brand's Dolby Vision promise. (I'm considering Formovie, Nexigo Aroura Pro and may this projector)
The difference between Model 3500 and 3000 is only the 500 lumens and the Price. I have a movie theater with a curtain, which one would be better of the 2 models?

Meanwhile, its focus capability is not that good, you can see there is noticeable blurry than other laser TVs.
@joesiph8021 I ended up returning it after learning it wasn't true 4k. I went with the formovi projector and decided on a wall mount ALR screen from spectra. That's after trying the nomadic projector which is really good but was too big for my application.
With black bars, but not native. Native 21:9 and wider is achieved through a panamorphic lens or by physically blocking part of the output with the lens cover. But on any ust other than the new native cinemascope units, are going to be 16:9
Is this have 3000 lumens compared to the ltv 2500 that has 2500 lumens? Cause I'm finding the ltv-2500 for sale for around $1800 now What are the other major changes besides Dolby vision?
I have the 2500 it and its plenty bright in a ambient light controlled room, the picture is amazing!!! but you need to get a ALR screen to really get a top noth picture.
How does the brightness compare with Formovie Theatre and LTV-3500? Apparently the 3000 "peak" lumen is some marketing BS, and this unit actually has an ANSI lumen at either 2400 (according to AWOL CS) or 2600 (according to Vividstorm AU spec sheet). With 2400 uncalibrated ANSI lumen this seems pretty overpriced.

Seems strange to release 2 new models with not much difference between them and at such a high price point!!? Looks very sharp, but not sure it is worth the extra over the original 3500
2,500:1 CT for 6k? What an amazing deal 😂. Seriously, those specs are a horrible joke at that price. A 13 year old DLA projector will look better than this thing at about 20x less money.
He put the wrong one in the description. The 3000 shown here is around $3000. A 13 year old DLA will have half the brightness of this and won't be watchable during the day. The better black levels won't matter. In a pitch black room sure definitely can't beat them.

Did you prefer this or the Nexigo Aurora?
I can't wait for AWOL to make an LTV-4500. That's when I'll upgrade from my 2500.
You would need to wear sunglasses for the Ltv-4500 .The LTV-3500 is already super bright.😎

If you already have a dark environment get the 3000; that’s what I’m doing.
In a dark enough room will a regular screen pair well with the 3000 or is an ALR screen still necessary?
What short throw laser projector do you recommend more between NexiGo Aurora Pro and AwoL LT 3000 pro???

How does it perform while streaming? Som/ most streaming platforms are mediocre at best, even with a high end Oled.
