Tashaun’s backstory always makes me sad, especially the scene where all his fellow fire fighters fade out of the photograph leaving him all alone. Symbolizing how he was the only one that made it out of the World Trade Center alive. Really adds perspective to the survivors guilt he suffers.
I pulled this from the wiki for you, it’s his written biography that you can find in game. “Tashaun was a NYC firefighter. He survived the September 11 attacks but was plagued with survivor guilt and post traumatic stress disorder. For Tashaun, the Great Panic felt more like a change of scenery than a cataclysm.” Now reading that and comparing it to the scene in the video where it shows how he lost all his friends in an accident. And considering he is an nyc firefighter. I’m sure you can put 2 and 2 together.
There is, it’s when it cuts to the image of all the firefighters running up the burning stairs and then get hit with an explosion. Followed by the scene with the photograph fading out everyone who died and him crying all alone.
This reminds me of the original book, where every chapter was a different story told by a different survivor, a collection of those who lived. This mirrors it, by telling a story about the survival of many, rather than one. This in completion tells us about the strength of humanity.

Would've been easier if he just ripped off his arm and bandaged it to avoid the infection spreading like the one shown in the World War Z movie, but it's Ethan's choice, not ours
He had to problem shooting the zombie, but when it comes to his teammate, he decides that instead of an instant death, he’d rather make his friend spend his last moments plummeting to an inevitable death. What a nice guy and what a nice run on sentence.(referring to my first sentence not anyone else)

Unless you were able to stop time (you wouldn't even be able to move at that point due to air being frozen at a solid state), then cutting off an arm would be useless, since the virus would already be propagating through your vein system! Do not trust Hollywood science or any science from movies, as those are incredibly inaccurate, and are only meant for flare, story, or etc.!
That's what most first responders are taught during training. If you can't save yourself, how are you gonna save somebody else? I thought that was a nice touch for a character who is a firefighter.

We also have a News Photographer/Journalist that used to have an Abusive father and a presumably shitty childhood, and a Mexican guy that had an even shittier Childhood

I was disappointed the DLC characters did not have backgrounds like these. Reading their backstories, I could imagine these styles of story telling for each of them easily.
Yeah! And for all I know one of the French was a failing chocolatier who used the outbreak as an opportunity to steal his more successful rivals recipes to use later. The lesson of that backstory being "Even the worst situations can provide opportunities to take advantage of".

Hey they didn't live japa fyi they cameback after a few months because japa never really had a strong ground force they had a competent sea military but they didn't have a strong ground force in the books after they survived and put the civillians in the cruise ships the volunteers and military went back to reclaim japan, there was also countries that got wiped out like greenland and korea

Kinda like Zoey from L4D. She learned a lot more about zombies and how to survive in zombie attacks through films and tv. Thanks to her geeky lifestyle, it helped her survive through the apocalypse.

The art style and music for each video actually make you afraid because of how grotesque and eerie they are, it adds a whole other layer to these stories. You can feel the fear
Sergei Popov and Tatsuo Matsumoto both have the most badass background you can imagine. The ex-thug priest, who found his peace with God and the cop, who finaly have the chains of stupid laws removed from him. The Bunko is the second best, I think.
Don't get me wrong it's a nice game but the book has a lot potential for a game, like the Canadian spec ops, or the German military fleeing Hamburg (I think), or re taking a ship from the undead. That or hunting them underwater.
All of these backstories are amazing, but there is something to the haunting guitar in Angel’s backstory that drives home the whole thing. I really do love how each voice actor really leans into the characters when they tell the stories

Wellll Russia has gone through a ton of bad stuff over the years. One of It's leaders used civilians as shields and pushed back a German offensive just before it barreled it's way to Russia's Capital and suffered heavy casualties. So it's people also became hardened and fierce. So of course they are.
It’s interesting how in some of these background animations the zombies look more like traditional shambling corpses as opposed to the World War Z film/game’s infected runners. Kinda makes me wish for a game on a similar scale to this one but with shamblers, and maybe a slower, more tactical pace with more survival based gameplay. Like No More Room in Hell, but on a larger scale.
Dying Light 2 if you asked me. Why? Because it's open world, various weapons, parkour, cool combat, AND each player can had their own different ending.

This game strangely seems more close to the book than the movie. Yeah I know, even Max Brooks said the movie had nothing to do with the book, but seeing this actually made me feel like this game was based more off the book than the movie. I might actually want to get this.
God bunko Tatsumi's backstory was one of the only back stories i remembered from this video A skilled hacker infiltrating the department of defense's computer network and than finding out about the outbreak weeks before anyone else and preparing for the outbreak everyday while slowly getting more info on the zombies It just fascinated me so much same with the priest one

My preferred characters when playing WWZ. Dina 1:10 - "You want me? Come get me! COME ON, BITCHES!" Tatsuo 14:45 - "You don't stand a chance - YOU ARE IN MY WORLD NOW!" Oksana 8:50 - "Today is a good day! Rest in peace." Bunko 5:30 - "Anybody else? Who wants more?" Also like Ethan (2:10) for the typical cockney accent, and Kimiko (15:50) - "all that practice paid off". Favourite guns, Shotgun, Combat Shotgun, Assault Shotgun. Favourite classes, Medic, Slasher, Exterminator. Favourite episode, Tokyo.
What really i love about zombies games, movies and shows is that we get a glimpse into what a person's life was like prior to the outbreak, whether they were happy or tragic, one thing each person has in common is that the life they once knew b4 the dead rised is gone for good and that they must survive this new brutal reality together, regardless of their upbringings. What i mean is, regardless on how you lived life prior to the apocalypse, it will either bring out best version of yourself or the worst version. Either way goes
I was initially disappointed they didn’t take characters from the books but I actually appreciate that because they aren’t reusing and diminishing stories to fit into a zombie video game. They made characters that fit with the game much better than some of the book characters.
Tatsumi's backstory was one of my favorite such a bad ass Hacker if only people befriended her then maybe they could've been part of her little survival plan
I wonder what it would be like if everyone in the world had these characters skills if there was ever a breakout I guess there would be less zombies to take care of.
Concerning Tashuan, since canonically the game takes place in the same universe as the movie, the wheelchair guy should be fine, since the infected would mark him as an unsuitable host and ignore him.
It’s hilarious that the zombies of the game are the same zombies from the movie and they can level cities and overwhelm the military but get wrecked by a small group survivors with assault rifles.
So far the Russian cast are my favorite I don’t know why Maybe it’s because I love Russian accents and banter but idk they just seem like the coolest to me.
This is a good game. A good story mode, a multiplayer that makes me rage, and backstories. All for 40 bucks. That’s a good price, 20 bucks less than every other new game

It’s interesting how in some of these background animations the zombies look more like traditional shambling corpses as opposed to the World War Z film/game’s infected runners. Kinda makes me wish for a game on a similar scale to this one but with shamblers, and maybe a slower, more tactical pace with more survival based gameplay. Like No More Room in Hell, but on a larger scale.
I like how they took themes from both the book and the movie and kinda made a hybridization.
Some in backgrounds were slow because of fire, and undewater deterioration, but the others are fast

This game strangely seems more close to the book than the movie. Yeah I know, even Max Brooks said the movie had nothing to do with the book, but seeing this actually made me feel like this game was based more off the book than the movie. I might actually want to get this.

What really i love about zombies games, movies and shows is that we get a glimpse into what a person's life was like prior to the outbreak, whether they were happy or tragic, one thing each person has in common is that the life they once knew b4 the dead rised is gone for good and that they must survive this new brutal reality together, regardless of their upbringings. What i mean is, regardless on how you lived life prior to the apocalypse, it will either bring out best version of yourself or the worst version. Either way goes

I was initially disappointed they didn’t take characters from the books but I actually appreciate that because they aren’t reusing and diminishing stories to fit into a zombie video game. They made characters that fit with the game much better than some of the book characters.

Sergei has the most epic background video. His confidence and faith are too much for the zombies to survive.
Concerning Tashuan, since canonically the game takes place in the same universe as the movie, the wheelchair guy should be fine, since the infected would mark him as an unsuitable host and ignore him.
It’s hilarious that the zombies of the game are the same zombies from the movie and they can level cities and overwhelm the military but get wrecked by a small group survivors with assault rifles.

So far the Russian cast are my favorite I don’t know why Maybe it’s because I love Russian accents and banter but idk they just seem like the coolest to me.
This is a good game. A good story mode, a multiplayer that makes me rage, and backstories. All for 40 bucks. That’s a good price, 20 bucks less than every other new game
