The best are the Malt Liquor ones featuring the soul and disco supergroups. My least favorite are the "gusto life" ones that almost seem to mock your mundane office life, compared to treasure hunting or bush piloting. And Schlitz had a ton of slogans, sometimes using three or so at a time. "Go for the Gusto with the beer that made Milwaukee famous, or you're out of beer."
22:23 Hunter von Leer, in the red cap & white shirt....Later on, in the 10th season of "Dallas", played B.D. Calhoun the terrorist. And was also Gary Hunt on "Halloween 2".
These old ads were great. Now Schlitz is hard to find an way more expensive than Miller High Life. That's odd since it is contract brewed by Miller. You can find Old Milwaukee everywhere but Schlitz is hard to find.
It's amazing how products/companies at the top of their fields can disappear as quickly as they came on the scene. Schlitz was the #1 beer in America for most of 50 years from 1902 - 1955. Now it doesn't exists. Think Sears, kmart, A&P, Polaroid, etc.
Frome me and the Schlitzman. This American classic is back. And from the forties, sixties, and seventies, the greatness is back. Drink this remarkablely fine tasting beer. It still promoted commercial sales during the 1980 football season but Schlitz was slowly dying to Budweiser. The old Schlitz has made a remarkable old style original to shame anything that way overrated Budweiser has today.
There was another commercial that I did not see it was a spirits beer commercial made about the urban cowboy movie in Pasadena Texas. I think it aired in late 1980 or 1981. Can someone post it if they have it.
I'd might of been slave at Marriotts theme great America.. Santa Clara,ca during the making of that beer ad..bz wit sippn lager 🍺 beer beverages and snackn
To bad this is isn't still America's big beer. I love the taste it. It's so much better then Budweiser, Miller and Coors. Even like it better then Pabst which I also like.
This beer is great. You can taste why this beer was legendary once in the country.
This is one the greatest movies of all times!
Thanks for collecting all these. I work at the former brewery in Milwaukee (now offices).
The river’s running high and wild....those are my favorites.🍻

The only beer my Dad would drink when I was a kid (Schlitz).
My dad's favorite also, until they changed the recipe . He then angrily switched to Budweiser.

im a schlitz drinker i get it out here in new lenox il they stock it herey
It's a shame that they messed up this beer.
Do they still sell Schlitz?
They started to make their beer with corn syrup. It tasted like crap, that’s why they went the way of the dodo bird.
Haha, those old-timey people didn't have jack shit in good beer.
Is it just me or, is the 1st commercial racist?
Schlitz Light killed regular Schlitz and they lost almost ALL of their drinkers to Miller Light back then.
