  • Here's the opening for the Sunday Matinee presentation of the 1944 Sherlock Holmes film "The Pearl of Death" (title listed on bumper slide as "Sherlock Holmes and the Pearl of Death") on WGN Channel 9. Includes:
    WGN "A Happy Holiday Is a Safe Holiday" ID bumper slide with 1960s "Television 9" logo (voiceover by Clif Mercer)
    Sunday Matinee opening with filmstrip and movie camera graphics, duly backed by instrumental version of The Young Rascals' "Groovin' " by Raymond Lefevre and His Orchestra (released in the U.S. in 1967 on Four Corners of the World single #FC 4-145, and on the 1968 album Soul Coaxing (Ame Caline), FCS-4244 - the full recording can be heard here), with voiceover announcement of film (by Clif Mercer)
