Don’t worry Elliot, you’ll be the one coming out ahead. I’m the youngest of what was 10 brothers and sisters. I’m 58 now and run my own concrete business also. What my brothers and sisters never realized was I was learning a little bit from each of them. Great job, Tom, you never disappoint with the quality work.
I do concrete. Been in it for four years. Without a doubt, your videos give the best idea of what it's like to do concrete. Please keep doing POV videos. Honestly if all you did was put on a go pro through a pour without any edits, it would already be better than every other concrete video out there.
My personal respect Cement technicians, has definitely grown up and onwards in the past few years, at 68 I obviously missed so many opportunities in my career, although I achieved many concrete objectives by hand around my home, I had no idea how amazing, 😊😊.
I remember those days when the concrete starts getting ahead of you. The struggle is real. I like seeing this part of the job but feel the frustration too. And the back patio looks great just like it is but I know you will improve on the details. 😊
The 'chaos' comment, so true, easy to get overwhelmed and overthink when it gets crazy. Amazing how things just seem to work out right when you get ya head down and check boxes.
One of the hardest jobs out there. I'm 6'8" and my first father in law had a concrete business and when it hit 35°C here in Queensland Australia you wanted too be anywhere else but near bloody concrete.
Good morning Tom, in this episode you had your work cut out for you. You Conducted Symphony of work and facilitated a Harmonious result that the Customer will be Smiling about for years. You are planting a supportive confidence in the younger generation which they will harvest and carry with them into their value added life. 😊👍👍👍
Walking around back, you said not much to look at now. I know what you meant, but still, i thought the patio wout any color or definition was beautiful. The broken stone edge really does look nice, but if the yard goes up against it, nothing lost. I was so happy to hear you say that you was sure to keep the mix tight because of the downward grade. I spent three decades driving forklifts up and down a concrete road poured too wet and left to travel after the concrete guys left. Those indoor lifts w solid tires, no suspension and loose material on the forks was a bad headache!!! After joining your channel i learned how they did that by watching you not do that!! The kids helping w the cold patch warmed my heart. For the next 20 years every time they pass that drive they'll remember putting hands on the build. So cool!! Late truck. I kniw that's not the first time, i also know how well you handle pressure. Even though you had no seconds to spare, you still stopped and relocated the camera for us!! Thanks Tom. Your channel gets better every day!!👍❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Tom I’m so glad that I’m retired after watching this podcast I was a concrete Forman for over 35 years with a very large company and I feel for you but I loved what I was doing it gets in your blood.
Really like the back patio Tom it turned out awesome. You really sounded stressed when you were doing the front step for sure. But as always you and the crew pulled it off beautifully 👍
Helloooo everyone…late catching up on yinz videos due to driving from VA to MA for a funeral 😢… Quick visit with my son in CT & heading back home to VA tonight… Nice Job Tom & guys…I bet you were freaking out (off camera) on that 2nd concrete truck. Steve did a great job on that retaining wall…very impressive. As always thanks for sharing. Have a day 😊
Very nice Tom, i thought, truck down 30 minute delay, hot, somebody fixin to sweat, a lot. I know you guys do everything and every trick in the book for NO cold joints. Turned out really nice though. 💯🙏
Id love to come work with ya for a week just to give concrete a try i know i could finish. I do flooring for a living and have floated and patched hundreds of floors for sheet vinyl which has to be really smooth. Love your videos.
Great work, Great family! I’ve watched all your videos since you started. Do you have a “company stamp” to leave your signature on your work? A friend of mine here in Tulsa does this on every job. I think it’s nice
I enjoy your videos so much Tom. Always wished I learned concrete work as I admire the talent it takes to create your projects. One question. I had a small sidewalk poured beside my garage and it was sealed after 24 hrs. Is there any point in sealing it again after 2 years now.
This is probably the most tired I've heard your voice. With the exception of the day the whole crew about passed out a few videos back. Still looked great when you were done.
Just my opinion, that approach to the front porch is way to shallow. As someone who's had over 40 years moving stuff, people in and out of homes. That's a death trap waiting to happen. It should have come out 3 feet more, you could have had your swerve cut, but a straight slant as you would use a hand truck or dolly, even carrying a sofa or divan. Trip Hazzard every time. I know it was probably the home owners finances or practical approach. And aspect saying, esstecticly summoning up, why wasn't a path from front to back did ??? Owner financial records not good, or wasn't suggested. I have done, it's done right the 1st time around. Not in stages we're nothing will remain intact and on even cue. Time, pressure and unseen erosion takes place.

Other than it makes some people that like to watch your videos 😵💫😅 maybe if you hadn’t been in such a big hurry 😢

Thank you very much

Tom - I hate it when "dejavu" happens!! 😂
The 'chaos' comment, so true, easy to get overwhelmed and overthink when it gets crazy. Amazing how things just seem to work out right when you get ya head down and check boxes.
Awesome work on the driveway and patio!!
Thanks 👍

Time and concrete waits for no man.
That’s so awesome that the kids got to be involved!
That makes my day

It does not matter what happens, you and the crew always find a solution and make it work, amazing results!
Love the team work! Your crew is like a well oiled machine.

Good to see you have the next generation in training already!
You are an artist with a hand float!

My favorite video you have done so far. You showed so much more of the work than you usually do. Keep that up. I really enjoyed it.
Looks good. It might have been a rough couple days but you guys still make it look easy

Heading your direction soon
@@Concretewiththehauses Virginia Beach?
That should be an easy job with 6 finishers !
Yup, me and my brother poured lots of driveways of that size just the 2 of us.
Very nice Tom, i thought, truck down 30 minute delay, hot, somebody fixin to sweat, a lot. I know you guys do everything and every trick in the book for NO cold joints. Turned out really nice though. 💯🙏
Thanks 👍
I must buy my hand trowels at the wrong store, they don’t smooth the concrete out as easily as yours do. lol
Id love to come work with ya for a week just to give concrete a try i know i could finish. I do flooring for a living and have floated and patched hundreds of floors for sheet vinyl which has to be really smooth. Love your videos.
Worst feeling in the world. Hot day and a hot load. Makes for sore hands and frustration.
In Florida it's hot like that almost all year you definitely would have sold your tools down here.
Great work, Great family! I’ve watched all your videos since you started.

Gosh you guys were scrubbing. I didn't even have to watch it I can hear it
As my favorite Aunt always said “If it was easy, everyone would do it.”
Awesome concrete to work in it fogeret here in europe
This is probably the most tired I've heard your voice. With the exception of the day the whole crew about passed out a few videos back. Still looked great when you were done.
We will remember that driveway forever
The float looked like it was at an extreme mangle. Does this matter?
Sometimes yes
Tom this is probably a stupid question but, Is there an apprenticeship program for concrete work?
This one gave me anxiety 😂. Not sure how you guys pulled that one off.
❤👍
Have you ever failed to finish the concrete on time and had to pull it out and start again?
Why don't you put the joints in first with a walking jointer?
Not as straight
ELLIOT
😂😂✌️👍👍
Steve, When Tom Says "I'm going to" what ever, Who actually does it?
It depends on,whatever is
👋🏻
Old age is creeping up on you Tom, I know
If it was easy, anyone could do it… nah
Right guys making it look easy
That first pour stayed wet a long time
Was that your sons house?
No
Ha ! Child labor ! Would have expected better from you ! 😜
