was on silja serena yesterday in celebration of my dad surviving ms estonia. the ships band even made a costum announcement in remembrance of the sinking ship and song for them. My dad got a Greeting from the captain. This defenetly goes down as one of the most tragic ship sinking in the peacetime ❤
(Sorry for typing too late, I’m blaming myself for this). 30 years since one of the biggest tragedy happened. I’m working with MS Estonia for 8 years, and I’ve watched a lot, from a visor lock failure to the Swedish submarine collision. But still 852 people died and from the sinking of this beautiful ferry with beautiful lives onboard we learned a lot to prevent this kind of disasters. Rip 28.09.1994.
I think the animation shows the ship below the surface too much before it starts to rotate, survivors reports that the ship was almost vertically before sinking.
@@ShipVSAnimator i'm not talking about war time i'm taking about all time and this bs of peacetime is riddiculous to me lets just talk about deadliest ships and thats it
@@AmicusAdastra peacetime bs? that was the whole point of the original comment, if he/she states that "One of the worst sinkings that occurred in peacetime", I don't get who in their right mind would just step over it and be: yea but fuck what you're saying, I'm talking about more important stuff here and everything else is irrelevant. If you want to talk about deadliest maritime disasters regardless of when they happened then take your discussion elsewhere.
Imagine being launched into the wall and then ceiling as the ship turned over, most likely being injured in a way or another and being left there to drown as the cabin slowly flooded with the ship now at the seafloor, all that during a thunderstorm. Is this accurate description of what happened?
Yes but it did not happen in an instant. This video obviously sped things up. It took 30+ minutes after the visor blew off. Some people had time to escape.
How many survived?
852 (out of 989) lives lost. 137 survived
@@caljucotcas thank you

One Of My Favourite Ships 💙🖤🤍

Thanks for this informative video. The ship took almost 900 people with it, so this video is very important to explain how it all happened.
RIP to the lives lost in this horrible tragedy 30 years ago.
The video is wrong because the ramp was NOT underwater. It was above the water more than a meter.
Nice video you make
