Great videos! I replaced the right upper and took about 1/2 of the vibration away on my 2016 Escape with 2.5. I had the power steering gear replaced this week and found the lower transmission mount to still be good. Now I will replace the left upper as you have shown. Thank you!
Update on the left transmission mount replacement on my 2016 Escape. Your advice about attaching the metal weight to the new mount before installing. I dropped one of the 8 mm bolts down in the transmission bolt hole well twice before I remembered your tip! I noticed you had the cowl panel removed to reach the battery hold down. On my Escape I removed the left cowling bolt and pried the panel up so I could remove the hold down nut with a ratchet. Also there was a also a small torx head screw holding a sensor on the battery box. Great advice, thanks! No more vibration in my seat!!
Would this mount also cause a clunk (feels like the vehicle jerks forward when going from park to drive & also when accelerating ) or would it only cause the vibration ?
Feel more vibration in the dash than normal and when you accelerate from a stop. You can have some start the car while parked and put in drive/reverse while you look at the engine to see if it’s moving around more than what it should be, and if it is the area the motor leans to will indicate what mount is bad
when you drive, if the let go of the acelerator slightly and back again you can feel the car surging back and forth. like on a motorcycle when your chain is loose.
You can pay as much for all 3 Chinese made mounts, that you will have to replace again in 2 years, as one Ford mount costs, or buy Ford mounts and get another 100,000 miles out of them. I've worked on cars too long to save some money up front, but have to do the job over and over again. Nice step by step explanation though. Thanks.
Has the original from ford a brand or is it only ford? I got one from Rockauto, and the crap last one year, now it is totally destroy. Need to buy a good one, so ford is the option or is there another good brand you can recomend?
@@alley55customs93 lol, the original failed... that is why you are changing them. why would you expect them to be good again from the same people? on most cars those are the kinds of parts that last until the whole car is gone.
Watched this twice before doing the job. This was a TREMENDOUS help.
Great step by step, no skipping. I appreciate your help buddy!
Your sure welcome. Glad I could help. Thank you for the positive feedback.

@@MrRschonf - The original would either be "Ford" or "Motorcraft", which is also a Ford brand. Either one will take care of you.
