So glad to find a Bible teacher who doesn't cater to the self-esteem philosophy and who wants women to learn to feed ourselves from God's Word and love God with our minds and not just our emotions.
Wait what? How do you love God with only your emotions? 😂 The mind is a body part. Just like the heart. You are able to pick which body part is loving God?
12:29 Thank you! So glad to finally hear a solid Bible teacher explain that God does not "remember against us" our sins. Which is really pretty amazing on and of itself!
Preaching on Psalm 139 this coming Sunday; part of my process is along with my study listening to others (while on my inside bike) for perspective and insight and struck gold with this message. I was first caught by the title - Reclaiming Psalm 139 from the Clutches of Coffee Cups and Picture Frames. Wish I had thought of that, not only for Psalm 139, but for several Bible texts that we have made into posters and cards and have obscured the text. Great message. Very insightful. Thanks, Jen.
Thank you. The self esteem self worth and self actualization takes us away from the very necessary fear of the Lord and glorifying Him as we should. We limit the abundant life In Christ and rob ourselves and others of the Beauty of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. God Bless you.
Thank you so much. Verses 19 - 22 have always intrigued me as to how they fit into this psalm. It seems almost out of place, like the psalmist has a sudden little hissy-fit near the end of a beautiful psalm. And as you pointed out so well, everyone just skips over those verses, like they have hacked out the four verses from the Bible altogether. I think I am beginning to see why those verses are there and what they mean, I would like to explore more though.
Oh finally! A female bible teacher who gets it! All the women are better than men, .....it's all about me and my self-esteem,.................nonsense. It's not about me, it's about Him and what he wants me to glean!
Is there a source for what she said about humans being the only mammals able to feel awe? It sounded really interesting. I googled "can animals feel awe", and the first result says that dogs probably can (contrary to what Jen said.) I'm not aiming to prove her wrong, it may well be that the website claiming that dogs can feel awe is in fact not reliable. I'm just curious, and therefore I'd be very grateful for getting some recommendations when it comes to trust-worthy articles or whatever. And I really loved her teaching so far, though I haven't finished it yet
With all due respect, when a couple goes to an IVF clinic and the contributions from each partner are placed in a petri dish, is life created at that instant? "Knitted me together IN my mother's womb." Is that not a picture of the soul entering that which resides in the petri dish?
A gripping sermon, but the Psalm does speak for itself. I think that it is the NRSV which calls it, “the Inescapablle God”. We are created in God’s image, and God is Love, Truth etc. And so we meet God in everyone. I am uncomfortable with liturgies and hymns which invite him inti lives and worship. He is inescapable
who has GREAT, reformed, female bible teachers on youtube, isntagram, or elsewhere? Recommendation? I till take males too, but especially trying to weed out the mommy blogger women who are wishy washy. Thanks!
I recommend Wendy Alsup. She has a blog "Theology for Women" and wrote some books. I cannot say something about the political or church abuse articles she wrote on her blog, because I'm not from America and I'm not familiar with those instances. But her thoughts on biblical texts and the way she interprets events in a biblical light are very interesting and worth reading (and not those superficial wishy-washy feel good messages). Also Sheila Wray Gregoire. She, too, has a website with a blog and wrote several books. What I read from her was biblical and really well thought out (and again some out of the box thinking).
Jen Wilkin has strayed far from obeying and properly teaching the Word. I humbly encourage everyone to research her teachings and behavior in the last couple of years. Very sad and I pray she repents. ❤
@@mfredcourtney5876 I've replied to both of you with linked videos of some of her problematic teaching and a TGC article. It's been removed and/or disappeared twice. Not sure why. Not having trouble with commenting on other videos. Not sure if my comments are being intentionally removed from this video or some other problem.

You are wonderful to spread gods word. Thank you soo much. Praise the lord. I love this beautiful chapter. Give God all the glory. Amen 🙏
Great teaching. I highly recommend her Crossways videos on studying the Bible. So helpful!
So blessed to hear her expound the Psalm. Thank you and God bless you abundantly
Last comment: wonderful talk! I don't think I've ever heard a more encouraging, thought provoking and exciting exposition of a Psalm.

We need the awesome fear of God. My daughter told me she feared God....i was upset at the time but learned she was way ahead of me. ....

Thank you. This is an excellent and critical realignment of my favorite psalm who's meaning has been glossed over by its own popularity.
What a great teacher. Wow.
First time I've heard of her, thank you Jesus
I have been blessed by this video🙌🏼🙌🏼

Excellent
Well said.
Hebrews 12:28 is the reference in Hebrews.

I think she mentioned an article from the New York Times.
If they can, they don't know to whom they are feeling awe!
I found that very interesting too

A bit of a sad comparison of humans with animal mammals...😲😲😲😟
Well, we're VERY different afterall.

Curious to know what you mean by this?
