Deliverance, The Crucified, Tourniquet, Vengeance Rising...God Bless them for shining the light of Christ in this darkened world in their own special way...the way God gifted them.
so brilliant.....'take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world..'..these were the words that inspired this awesome album and song..
used to go to church with Jimmy Brown, the lead singer and guitarist, right at the time this album came out. Super nice guy, and his brother was the youth pastor!
This was one of my favorite Christian metal bands back in the 80's and 90's...Deliverance, Believer, Sacred Warrior, Tourniquet, Vengeance Rising. We had some awesome metal back then!
This song is so on point. No need to argue eith those who say this music is satanic when I hear these guys rocking out in the name of Jesus. This song is so cool, in a wild sort of way of course.
I used to have this VHS video when I was a teen. Funny thing was that our TV was mono so I used to sync it up with the CD on our stereo so we could really rock. It synced fine until 3/4 into the song and then it was off just a bit so it had to be resynced. Maybe just slightly different speeds. Deliverance ROCKS!! Listened to this CD COUNTLESS times when I was in grade 8 and 9.
I am an aging metalhead, and I have the "Weapons Of Our Warfare" cassette! LOL! If you like this song, you've got to hear the song "Slay The Wicked." God's wrath has never been so fun! I'd put it up against "Walk" by Pantera or "Shortest Straw" by Metallica for riff-o-riffic shredding. I freaking love the sound of this band.
Haven't seen this video for a long time. Great Deliverance song from "Weapons Of Our Warfare" CD. I wish I could find a copy of their 1st self-titled CD somewhere.
I couldn't agree more! But, these are the Christian thrash metal masters in my opinion as Stryper were the Christian & secular hair band/80's metal (whatever you want to call the genre) masters period!!!!
Just bought a cd by Deliverance called "Greetings of Death" a few weeks ago. This song is on it-Great song! Didn't Deliverance do a song called Psalm 23(It was basically the verse word for word)? When I first brought the cd home my wife said "What the heck is that, I said "Christian metal" she laughed at me! Thanks for posting!!
@Travandkaren I heard he's got a sense of humor that rivals Pete Steele. I asked Scott Waters about this and he verified this. Because Jimmy p. would write evangelical lyrics but on his profile he would have Lords of Acid. I could really see myself having a beer with him in Chicago. He'd fit in nicely hanging out with Holzner. I actually know Ted Kirkpatrick's and Rey Parra's old circle. (This circle is Earthen Grave.)
This song is based on 2 Corinthians 10:4 which states (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) KJV
Revelationkings1316 obviously knows nothing about the band Deliverance!!! The members of this band definitely found music through jesus. Wish they were still around

Deliverance ruled for a few years. Loved them in concert.
