    They all came out so beautiful, it’s the kind of project that looks like trash at first but you just need to give it time and see it through. To make the colors/ epoxy flow after you have all your colors on you I recommend hitting it with a warmed up blow dryer or a heat gun. That’ll warm the resin up making it more runny and the blowing air will help if you want to blend or move more colors around ❤️ thank you

    I haven’t even finished watching the video yet, but I’ve already liked & subscribed to your channel. I’ve only made one cup so far (ombre glitter), and it was midnight when I was working on my cup too. LOL. You’re so right about how addictive making these cups is! I’m happy to see someone else who uses the “let’s try this and see what happens” method of creating. I used a silicone face mask spatula to apply my final coat of epoxy, and it took FOREVER. I’m going to spread the epoxy by hand next time. I’m also going to experiment with using some interference powders too. Thanks for sharing your learning and experience with us!

    Next time you do one of these cups, take it off the Turner after you add the white. And hold it straight up and down, let it slide, then hold it vertical the other direction and let it slide. Do it a couple times till you get it how you like, then throw it back on the turner. Its a REALLY cool effect

    I just tried using my alcohol inks after putting a coat of resin on my cup and it was a supercalifragalisticexponetialdontcious. 🤣 So I spray painted the cup with white. Then did a clear resin coat. Then started dURPing alcohol inks onto the wet resin. The resin seemed to reject the inks and left "bald" spots. It was crazy but thankfully, I'm an artist (not a tumbler artist obviously...LOL!) so I'm good with adapting. Also, I am sorry for my comments on your old videos. I'm just catching up. ;)

    Are you more partial to Ranger or Pinata Inks?

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому +1

      I think the Pinata Inks because:
      1. They are richer pigmented
      2. They are the only ones with white ink
      3. THE GOLD IS AMAZING!!
      ...but the Ranger has a bigger selection of 60 inks compared to Pinata's 17

      @@DuncanCustomAirbrush Ranger does have a White 'mixitive' - Snowcap! But for your application i can see why you would sway toward Pinata - Are you excited for the new colours Tim Holtz is releasing this spring? - do you work with the mixitaves or the alcohol pearls? - I am quite excited to get my hands on his new "Alloys" - Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question

      @@UrbanScrapbookLTD yeah I tried the Snowcap mixative - it didnt work the same for me. I have not used alcohol pearls but would like to and I haven't seen about the new colors, I will have to check it out - alloys sound cool and shimmery

    How soon do you take off the tape? I tried something like this and when I took the tape off it went on the stainless steel.

      Are you talking about the stainless rim I have taped up? You remove that 50 minutes after you applied resin

      no the epoxy went on the stainless steel

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому +2

      @@dominomoody3336 ah I see. You have to wait to about 60 minutes before you take the tape off, but don't wait too long after 60 minutes because you will miss the window. I had a little resin seep under the tape in one spot, but a day or so later I used my exacto blade to get it off (you can get your blade hot too), and if it scratches the stainless steel part you can buff it back to new with a 3000 grit Trizact pad
