They all came out so beautiful, it’s the kind of project that looks like trash at first but you just need to give it time and see it through. To make the colors/ epoxy flow after you have all your colors on you I recommend hitting it with a warmed up blow dryer or a heat gun. That’ll warm the resin up making it more runny and the blowing air will help if you want to blend or move more colors around ❤️ thank you

I’ve only made one cup so far (ombre glitter), and it was midnight when I was working on my cup too. LOL. You’re so right about how addictive making these cups is! I’m happy to see someone else who uses the “let’s try this and see what happens” method of creating. I used a silicone face mask spatula to apply my final coat of epoxy, and it took FOREVER. I’m going to spread the epoxy by hand next time. I’m also going to experiment with using some interference powders too. Thanks for sharing your learning and experience with us!
Next time you do one of these cups, take it off the Turner after you add the white. And hold it straight up and down, let it slide, then hold it vertical the other direction and let it slide. Do it a couple times till you get it how you like, then throw it back on the turner. Its a REALLY cool effect

I'm not sure if anyone made this comment or not, but from what little I know, you're supposed to mix you mica Powders in your Resin mixture. Same with your alcohol inks. Then pour the colored liquid onto your spinning cups.

I just tried using my alcohol inks after putting a coat of resin on my cup and it was a supercalifragalisticexponetialdontcious. 🤣 So I spray painted the cup with white. Then did a clear resin coat. Then started dURPing alcohol inks onto the wet resin. The resin seemed to reject the inks and left "bald" spots. It was crazy but thankfully, I'm an artist (not a tumbler artist obviously...LOL!) so I'm good with adapting. Also, I am sorry for my comments on your old videos. I'm just catching up. ;)

The question I have is do you have to always sand the tumblers and have you ever painted a darker tumbler white then use alcohol ink.. Lots of questions sorry.. I really want to try this.. I have all the materials but super scared to try it..

Good even so i spray paint my tumbler in white then i add the alcohol inks wait for 24 hours to epoxy it once i start epoxy my tumbler all the inks started running all over can u tell me whats the cause it ?

well, i had a little lighter torch and it it probably the best to use so you dont over-torch, but then ingot the big butane torch but you have to be careful with that thing!
I don't, I haven't had much of an issue in my garage...I keep and eye on it and have picked a few things out with my tweezers and then just hit it with the torch to smooth it out
How do you not have the tiny sharp pointy things in your epoxy after it cures? And how do I fix this because when I sand it down it leaves the scratch marks from the sanding and it doesn’t go away even after another layer of epoxy
you mean on glitters? I have always had scratch marks disappear after another layer of epoxy, but you could try to lay down high glitters my pressing them down after about 3 hours into the curing process
@@DuncanCustomAirbrush no its actually not the glitter that's is sticking up, it's the epoxy itself. maybe I am not putting a thick enough layer of epoxy on, all i know is i want to be like you when i grow up lol

@@CrystalWilliams-rt3zm you can send me a picture to my Instagram DM, but it sounds lik you will just need to lightly sand it with 400 or 600 grit sand paper (you dont need to try to sand it all off, just knock the shiny off of it). Then you can go ahead and spray paint it or whatever you're wanting to do with it
🤷🏻♂️tumblers cannot be put in the microwave because of the vaccum insulation properties. Also, all artwork is sealed with food grade epoxy (Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast)
I think the Pinata Inks because: 1. They are richer pigmented 2. They are the only ones with white ink 3. THE GOLD IS AMAZING!! ...but the Ranger has a bigger selection of 60 inks compared to Pinata's 17

@@dominomoody3336 ah I see. You have to wait to about 60 minutes before you take the tape off, but don't wait too long after 60 minutes because you will miss the window. I had a little resin seep under the tape in one spot, but a day or so later I used my exacto blade to get it off (you can get your blade hot too), and if it scratches the stainless steel part you can buff it back to new with a 3000 grit Trizact pad

Never used crystalac, but I so know that the Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast is food grade safe

I didnt because i did a second/final layer of expoy after 4 hours while it was still tacky

How soon do you take off the tape? I tried something like this and when I took the tape off it went on the stainless steel.

@@dominomoody3336 ah I see. You have to wait to about 60 minutes before you take the tape off, but don't wait too long after 60 minutes because you will miss the window. I had a little resin seep under the tape in one spot, but a day or so later I used my exacto blade to get it off (you can get your blade hot too), and if it scratches the stainless steel part you can buff it back to new with a 3000 grit Trizact pad
