what's your multimeter set on mate I'm looking to wire mine up also more info on wiring the buzzer would be good mate i got some written instructions for wiring that but don't make much sense cheers mate
Billy The Loam Gardener just 12v. As that is what you are testing for, voltage. Then continuity for earth. Buzzer need to follow the directions given, will follow colour codes for indicators. Basic runs in series with indicator wiring
hi mate that vid was very helpfull, i hava 09 1.6 hdi peu is it the same or near to it the same fittings etc. ? cheers
still a 206?
Great video, do you know if I need a relay box for my 07 206? Not sure if it's can bus or not
It has some multiplex but no you won't need a specialised relay, just the normal type
nice work mate
thank you 😊
i cannot see wiring reference for rear fog. what colour is it in the loom?
helpful vid by the way
see the link in the description :-) its blue/pin2 for fog on the trailer wiring. You'll need to use a multimeter like I show in the video to find the fog 12v wire on the car
Cool video
ManOthewoods no worries :) ta
Mine is being a pain in the ass i have a zafira b (2006) and for some unknown reason Voaxhall have decided to use the same wire for both the side lights and the break light. When side lights are on it sends 6v up the wire and when the break is applied it sends 12v up the same wire how odd.. I have brought a smart universal 7 way relay to try to see if i can get that to work. However this also has 7 wires like the towbar 7 core wire but the car only has 6 wire since the break and side lights work off the same wire. How can this be got around?
Dean Smith Before adding wires, have you checked that you don't have the same problem on the car and actually there is a short or bulb incorrectly fitted on the car and thus sending power where it shouldnt?
My mk7 transit is the same, i wired the trailer cable on the offside, and run a separate wire from the 7core cable to the nearside loom at the light cluster and joined it there, i had to do the same with the nearside indicator
Hi mate.Sorry but how you conecting the buzzer? You joining green whit grey what is right indicator and orange whit yellow what is left indicator and the black is earth.Like that?
Eotvos Marcel all wiring references and colours etc are in the description 😃👍🐷
Eotvos Marcel as per the wiring instructions in the description 👍🐷
I find.Thank you.
Hi good vid but you should use snap wire connectors to join the wires.
From experience I would never use those as a long term solution... often unreliable and due to not being insulated can cause interference issues on many vehicles.
do you need electric harness to wire tow bar to aPeugeot 206s registered April 2006
Hi there, I do not believe you need any additional wiring than what is shown in the video. Follow the PART 2 video to check you have all the wires for signals etc in the boot :)
obviously 12v lol I'm an idiot.
cheers buddy
Billy The Loam Gardener An idiot would have just guessed or not bothered trying.... you are no idiot sir. Kudos for diy mechanics 😊👍🐷
Thanks
You welcome :-)
Wiring references and details now added :)
***** Hi Martin! Thanks for watching! I hope you subscribed :) The captive nuts are not common to be honest and the 106 doesnt have the need for them. Neither does the 306 or 406 funny enough. The kit you have linked to is good, but brand new new kits can be had for similar or less just so you are aware. Take your time with the wiring. Write it all down. You will be fine :)
arkaywat11 nothing to worry about then! Well done! Hope this video helped in some and earns a 'like'👍 and maybe your subscription 😁🐷
shame you did not show connecting and soldering both wires together
Why do you think that is a shame ?
I have some links to soldering if you need a little bit of help with that?
But essentially;
Tin both ends to be soldered together.
Apply soldering iron heat and hold both tinned ends against one another allowing solder to flow across and make the join. Add solder if required.
Allow to cool before shrink wrapping or taping. 👌
Just came on my recommended is that legal to tow with a hatch back?
Not sure if you are joking!? 🤔
@@PiggyPower so I can tow a loaded 3.5 tonne trailer with a smart car? this is news to me
I didn't say that!? This video is also not about a smart car!?
Not sure what you are asking? If I know more about the question I can be more specific with the answer 👍
@@PiggyPower I just presumed the was laws stopping small cars from towing trailers what weight can you tow with the Peugeot
Essentially any vehicle can tow a trailer, even motorcycles and smart cars.
There are two main factors to consider when towing...
Maximum permissible weight the vehicle can tow, you can find this on the chassis plate or manufacturers manual for the vehicle.
Your licence. Licenses these days have strict regulations about what you can and cannot tow.
NICE VIDEO THANKS BUT YOUR CAR IS A MERIDIAN 306
LOL I COULDNT SEE BK OF CAR TILL THE END OF VID HOPE ITS THE SAME TO GO ON A 206 LOL
I do have a 306... but this video and guide is all done on a 206
hi mate no it's a 207 1.6 hdi
Cool
Hi, I've just wired the tow bar on my son in laws 206 in the same way as this, but then I came across "can bus" how can I be sure that the vehicle isn't "can bus" wired? A search on google suggests it might be!
www.mobilityconversions.com/Leaflets/Vehicles%20fitted%20with%20Canbus.pdf
arkaywat11 What age is the 206?
does the wiring all work?
Yes, it works fine
2006 SW
You should be fine fitting this system. But get a CANBUS kit to avoid faults
