I think that switching to maxis match hair was the best decision ever 💕 but I still love my older alpha Sims!!

I'm thinking of making the switch, did it help make your computer go faster? Some of my alpha hairs take up soooo much space. Btw beautiful!
@@jillianmarcoccia1439 for me personally it did! Alpha hairs made me lag so badly all the time 💀
well, it didn't really matter for me because my computer could handle it but I can definitely tell you that it's a huge improvement when it comes to storage! my cc folder is literally half the size after deleting alpha hair lol
but I think yes, if your PC is having trouble with alpha cc, mm should make things better when it comes to performance too

@@thilseyI use both still. It just depends on the save file because I still adore alpha and mm cc. I don't think we should shame others for using cc they like because it's just about personal preference.
for sure!! right now I have a mix of both in different saves too because I'm switching to mm slowly. it's nice to have both but I'd like to have on or the other because it's easier to manage haha right now my mods folder is looking crazy@@idkkkk7588

I’m genuinely really happy to see you enjoying MM! I love it and tried alpha originally. I thought there *was* only alpha. When I found MM I never looked back

@@st4rzjd maxis match and alpha! They are different types of custom content!
To add on:
Alpha looks more realistic and like real life, while maxis match blends more into the game and is in the style of Maxis. There’s also Maxis mix, which is where people mix the two styles.

The move from alpha to maxis mix with maxis match hair is the evolution I’ve seen in so many simmers, including myself 😂

I only did alpha hairs because I thought that if I didn't I wasn't a real simmer. Now I just have a couple of maxis match hairs and maybe 2 pairs of clothes but I reduce reuse and recycle my lashes. Sims look like they just escaped the zombie apocalypse without lashes
I'm sorry to hear that you felt pressured to use alpha tho! how you make sims should never define how real of a simmer you are

I use alpha cc most of the time, but the maxis match one is so good! Also, what shaders do you use?

I only use like 2 or 3 alpha hairs but most are maxis they're so cute though!! (Ur sims)

idk about yall but I just download pretty hairs, idc what type they are lol
(i do wish there were more maxis match hairs that I liked tho. alpha doesn't render properly on laptop mode and, although the game looks much nicer, it gets laggy if theres too much on the lot when i dont have it enabled)
doing both is great! it just depends on if you mind the mixing or not
alpha is MUCH harder to run tho, maxis match might be a better option for your pc but treating yourself to a good alpha hair here and there is nice haha

I'm glad you switched to maxis match. Because I was an alpha player too because it looked so much like The Sims 2 and I played The Sims 2 in Sims 3 when I was younger and alpha custom content fits in perfectly with Sims 2 and Sims 3 however when The Sims 4 came out like a thousand years ago I started putting all kinds of alpha CC into my game and I was like grossed out by it but I dealt with it because I was an alpha player but I was like no I don't have to be an alpha player so I started looking at Maxis match content and I realized that it just looks so much better in the game it looks like it belongs there as long as you pick good creators who are good at modding and doing their job right. People say they're maxis match when they're really like a mix between alpha and maxus. I prefer to go all Maxis cartoon look versus having a little alpha thrown in anyway I'm glad you made the switch because you won't regret it
that makes a lot of sense and I've seen a lot of Alpha players say the same, it matched The Sims 3 so they just moved on with the same type of CC in the next game! the weird thing is, The Sims 4 was my first one so I have no idea why I went with Alpha hahah but switching to MM was the best decision ever 🫶 altough I'd say I'm still Maxis Mix because I use Alpha clothing and skin details sometimes

I find/download CC from different places! I think that the best starting point is Pinterest to look for stuff and then you can find all the links there and thank you so much 💕
