Keep the chrome kidney grills. The black aftermarkets always look out of place in my opinion.

I mean the chrome ones don’t look too bad, definitely better than aftermarket, but I like the kidneys from the 5series base model better with black bars and chrome outer ring

You need to address the red release button on the seatbelts. It will make a huge difference. Apply Gtechniq C4 with a Q tip and they will look brand new. I've done it on my e39 m5 and on my e38. Trust me on this one.
My car originally was muffler deleted, put a Supersprint exhaust on it, headers all the way back. Awesome sounding.

You should get the prefacelift chrome grills
Regarding the kidney grills, you can get original BMW grills with black slats, just got some for mine and looks much better than the chrome slats.

Try nice, I have the mundane Carbon Black sibling of your car. It is a daily city driver. These are wonderful cars for every situation. Except passing petrol stations.
If you want to trade your gray instrument cluster for my black one out of my 2000 E39 M5 I'd be happy to make the trade!
Hate the mirrors. Spend the money and put the original, the blue mirrors look cheap. The red seat inserts look cheap. The leather grain is wrong. I don’t get why you would spend all this money to cut corners.

Seats look good as far as stitching/pattern however I’m not a fan of the smooth leather look…something with more grain would have been a little more period correct. I know I’m splitting hairs, my .02….beautiful car nonetheless.

for your headlights, look for TYC headlight lenses, they don't have all that ugly writing on them and since they are pre facelift, they can be changed very quick.

I love black and red seats but idk, I dont think it looks good with the color of the car. I also have a titanium silver M5 ('03). But the seats came with the black and gray combo. Royal blue and black would like nice too with Titanium Silver
Edit: Ive also done a muffler delete on mine it got old real quick. It was nice because it was louder but the exhaust wasnt really refined. Bought a Corsa exhaust and never been disappointed for 7 years. Idk what Corsa did but its quiet when under normal throttle. But when in WOT, it screams nicely. Eventually, I want to get around fabbing some headers, and I dont plan on supercharging it either but the extra HP is always nice lmao

Vanos was already done by a previous owner. Rod bearings are not that big of an issue with these cars

The bongs? It's probably coded off, or your gong speaker (located in pedal box ceiling) is either missing or broken.
You have a gap between the headlight and the fender, is that because of the aftermarket lights or not installed all the way in?
Aftermarket probably. Headlights are fully seated

The car never came with the original lenses. The headlight assembly itself is OEM
