    Great interview Pat! This was refreshing to hear how positive and supportive Scott is on space exploration and scientific developments in general. You and he are a great well spoken team, vs. many of the tech geeks out there who come across as more awkward. Hopefully this will encourage more young kids (and people in general) to have an appreciation for exploration!

    I'm 19, and its strange to me how when we think of careers we always think of first going to university but when we try to think of starting points for any other career, we go blank. Im one of those people.

    I hear it again and again these great stories of destiny, how during a caviler moment when buying chewing gum you get an impulse to pick up a book that changes your life. I use to think wow why do these moments happen to people, but then I realized that Jesus Christ (don't cringe) loves his creation dearly on a personal level, and it's his delight to see them full of joy. Weather you think this or not it's true, blessings to you!

    Coming back here after hearing on JRE that this was one of the rather most dull interviews you ever had, to paraphrase...
    I personally think space is fuckin fascinating, you should totally cover more on this subject.
    Unfortunately some educators are not good at or interested in what they teach and share, so the msg does not get across nicely.

    The sky is blue because there's heavy waters above us.
    Genesis 1:7
    "And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were *under* the firmament from the waters which were *above* the firmament: and it was so."

    • @burkblair
      @burkblair 6 років тому

      The sky is blue because the color blue scatters easier in the atmosphere. This is why sunsets appear red because the blue light is scattered out, and only the red light makes it through the thick atmosphere at sunset and sunrise. When the sun is high up in the sky at noon, there is less atmosphere for the light to plow through, and therefor more blue wavelength in the light from the sun makes it to our eye.

    • @mostever2882
      @mostever2882 6 років тому +1

      Bobpoblo The sun only effects a portion of the sky, the other side of the sky still remains blue. Even at night you can see it's still dark blue.

      Bobpoblo If space existed, we would see black emptiness when we look up, but instead the ENTIRE sky is blue just like the bible says.

      Dariem Pérez Herrera The *physics* of water only takes the shape of any container, you cannot observe, test, repeat or demonstrate water sticking to the outside of a object. For example glass, pool, lake and the ocean it self needs a hole in the ground to hold the water because it needs to be contained within something.
      The *physics* of gas needs a solid barrier holding the gas from elaborating. For example a can, bag, balloon, or a basketball.
      You cannot observe, test, repeat or demonstrate a gas sticking to the outside of a basketball. Nor you can't demonstrate two gasses side by side next to each other without a solid barrier separating it from mixing and elaborating together.
      If the earth is spinning a 1,000 mph, orbiting the sun at 67,000 mph, with the whole solar system moving at 828,000 mph, while chasing the sun at 487,000 mph. We SHOULD feel the air blowing against our face regardless of gravity. For example on a roller coaster you can feel the air even if you're stuck by "gravity" or a car that's only going 50 mph with just one window open, you can STILL feel the air blowing.
      What YOU believe in is called pseudo science. Which is based on assumptions, theories, and beliefs.
      What I believe in is called natural science. Which is based on observable, testable, repeatable and demonstrable experiments that any individual can do for themselves.
      The bible itself tells you to test ALL things even the bible. But of course people like you will immediately dismiss anything that has to do with Jesus or the bible. Like they said dismissing before investigation is the HEIGHT of ignorance.
      Thessalonians 5:21
      "Put all things to the test: keep what is good"

    • @mostever2882
      @mostever2882 6 років тому +1

      Dariem Pérez Herrera Again you cannot observe, test, repeat, or demonstrate any of your claims. Why would I blindly take you or anyone's word for it without no experiments to backup your claim.

    Notice in your interview with Divyank Turakhia, he did not talk about gun laws, politics, space or religion. He avoided your question about politics with a generic philosophy about hard problems being fun to solve. He turned $500 into billions. He spoke about globalization of technology, website advertising and computer engineering. This is where the money is. Money represents public interest. He also said that if you want to be successful, you need to identify where the money is. Think about it. What will your next video be about? I loved your channel and your playlists. I rave about you to my fiance with whom im going into business. I understand innovative content and business pivots. Just please don't pivot too far.

    • @Rising_Pho3nix_23
      @Rising_Pho3nix_23 6 років тому +1

      Someone has been watching too much XMen and Fantasic Four. Someone doesn't understand that evolution happens every second to every creature on earth, and even to non-living things which partake in something called selection pressures, which is part of evolution. LOL read a book.

    • @MrOMgThAtWaSgReAt
      @MrOMgThAtWaSgReAt 6 років тому

      He didn't say we aren't already undergoing evolution and experiencing evolutionary factors in our everyday life, merely suggesting that a drastic change in environmental forces would have a huge impact on selection pressures and catapult us into a different direction of evolution, one which might be more unimaginable than one from earth.

    • @Rising_Pho3nix_23
      @Rising_Pho3nix_23 6 років тому

      Part of evolution is random mutation of DNA. Part is how the selection pressures affect our survival, and part is how certain traits affect our reproductive rates. A long time ago, certain traits made a person desirable. Such as being able to fight (iron age). But those traits became undesirable with the industrial revolution (being able to work became desirable). With technology, brains took over muscle in the list of desirable traits. When it comes to space, certain aspects will create new selection pressures yes. But going to space (like an astronaut) will not change a person's DNA the way people tend to think of the word "change". It might create 1 or 2 random mutations when it comes to solar radiation. So does doing yard work. We have such a clutter of mutations as a human specie that it really won't make a difference. Those who qualify for the space program now are already in "high demand" in the dating/sex world. But then again so are fire fighters. Everyone loves a uniform, right? lol. As to space travel itself, I really don't see a change worth talking about. The main factors a person experiences when going to and from space would be a change in blood pressure, height and creative problem solving. The only part that remains when a person comes back to earth would be the creative problem solving. But you have to have that skill when qualifying for space travel anyway. Overall, space travel wouldn't create any more mutations to the long term gene pool than being a fire fighter, nuclear scientist, detective or school teacher. Evolution in a nutshell is where 2 groups of a specie are no longer in contact with each other, experience different environmental factors, develop different traits individually that allow the traits to either reproduce or die off. Certain traits that have no function could still propagate as long as those traits don't hinder reproduction (such as us having tonsils, appendix or a tailbone) Over hundreds or thousands of generations, sure crossing the street vs j walking could produce genetic changes. Could a person going to space change their DNA? No. That's a thing for the movies like Fantastic Four. Could it change the DNA pool for children? Technically yes, practically no. Are you the same as your children? Are you the same as your parents? No. Technically YOU are a transitional form between your parents and your children. Multiply transition by hundreds of thousands and you have the crocoduck. (half bird half reptile = pterodactyl for the crocoduck literalists out there)

    DNA is what makes apple juice different from orange juice, a dog different than a cat, my dad different than me. So asking if being in space changes your DNA is like asking if putting vacuum sealed pork in the freezer will turn it into chicken...Patrick, the value in value-tainment used to come from educational content for entrepreneurs. Lately, it's been interviews with people and the occasional dumb video title. I, as someone who is a full time entrepreneur, am about to unsubscribe. I don't care about interviews with hyper religious people or astronauts. All I care about is how to make my business boom and make it change the world.
