- OdysseuS - Speaking from drill experience. It's so damn hard when you're in a smaller group where your drill leaders are more inclined to crack occasional joke. We were running joddies to the "C-130 Rollin' Down The Strip!" tune. (Joddy = a light, formation jog in which the drill instructor says a phrase, and the flight repeats it back.) And then one of our officers, on a 5 year old's bicycle, catches up with us on the taxiway. And proceeds to ride circles around us with the song "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" playing from his fucking iPhone. Our Drill Instructor just shattered into laughter. You are dumb af. They're training to protect the country from the enemy, in order to do that you got to be tough. Why the fuck would they be having fun?
Drill Instructors aka the kids who stood up to school bullies, defended the weaker kids, excelled in everything they did and motivated people around them to do better.
You DO know that for the most part it's all an act right? I'm quite sure 99% of future drill instructors are NOT in the halls of their current highschools & colleges yelling and screaming at their classmates. LOL....it's part of the job.And besides, all you see on youtube is the yelling and sceaming. Very rarely do you see the mentoring that goes on.
Eric D Aww.. look at you: You think you actually mean something and you can tell others what to do. Aren't you the cutest thing ever? :-P It's funny to see how people THINK they know enough about a person who comments to start blabbering all kinds of bullshit... You don't know a single thing about me and still you asume that you do.... moron. And maybe those drill-instructors shape YOUR society, but that's about it frankly. Guess you people need some yelling nutjob to get you to fit in society then. (And to be honest I pity you for it.)
I am a US Marine and I honestly hated the screaming and the yelling, but after I graduated bootcamp and saw the new recruits coming in and acting sloppy and unorganized, I wanted to yell at them too. It's a matter of building discipline. Sure there are other ways, but this is the armed forces way of building it. If you want to know more about boot camp and why we do what we do, you can message me anytime
this is the United States Marine Corps and everything they do has a purpose that is why it is the best military unit in the world. I went through USMC boot camp in 1965 and the things they taught and INSTILLED in me help me through some difficult times in my life. The training is for a life time. Thank you USMC.
One drill instructor tried testing out a recruit in my platoon and said spin spin around look up look down right now look right look left look right look left spin spin spin 🤣🤣then u hear fast as he could "AYEAYESIRAYEAYESIREAYEAYESIRAYEAYESIR
They are the funniest people on this world. My GREATEST thrill was when I became an officer and they had to call me SIR and SALUTE ME... The ONLY sad part was I was so use to calling them sir, I cost change that part inside of me. I owe them my life...
Look, people. Joining the Marines means something not physically but mentally. It represents pride, loyalty, guts, and glory. Joining proves you've got what it takes to fight for what you believe. And instructors aren't always mean. When you're a recruit, they piss on you and toughen you up, to make sure you're not a phony or just some wanna be. They want to see if your truly want to fight for your nation, not just say you did. After all the training is over, and they're sure. They make you run a long track. A terribly hard track. And at the end, you get a pin, a pin of the US marines.. and for the first time your instructor looks at you with respect and says "It's been an honor teaching you, Marine". During that moment even the strongest and the quietest People cry tears of joy...Learn something from these brave men..
18tangles bullcrap... the men who survive the training prove they have the determination and backbone needed to be soldiers, marines... etc. I am in the Army and your mentality is destroying the core strength of the force. I didn't like getting put down when i was junior enlisted but I definitely learned when to keep my mouth shut and when to have a voice. Something many soldiers today don't understand.
18tangles Sure, except this is a tried and true practice and Australia isn't exactly known for it's military prowess,(you sure taught those emus a lesson though). So excuse us if we continue with our own methods.
Like i said. You guys really handled your business in the great emu war. I wouldn't dare have a laugh at Australia's expense with experience like that under their belt.
This clip never gets old. BTW, if I had to take a lucky educated guess as to why the Drill Instructor was adamant about drilling the cadet like he was, I'd be willing to bet that it was due to the fact that everytime he lowered the rifle for Port Arms it could be heard. I know my DIs were hardcore about slamming our rifles against the deck.
he kept doing it because he would call for inspection in which you'd pull up your rifle and pull down the bolt for in section and you'd have to look down while pulling the bolt down and this cadet didn't look down as he was pulling the bolt down. I don't see how he made it to comp for rifle team if he didn't know this simple movement.

Warlord Cleon not what he meant. He’s just saying that the title of the video implied something funny would happen here.
my military bearing would go to complete trash I'm sorry when someone is trolling I can't help but laugh
This should cause the kid to go into ANYTHING other than the Corps !!!!!🥳😆🤣
"The Drill Instructor then flips his kill switch to off, and calmly moves about his business"
'Drill Instructors': a.k.a. The kids who always got beaten up in school and never had friends.
Drill Instructors aka the kids who stood up to school bullies, defended the weaker kids, excelled in everything they did and motivated people around them to do better.
daillmeskin Motivating people around them to do better? Well... that's 1 way of looking at it. (A twisted way, but a way non the less.)
It's funny to see how people THINK they know enough about a person who comments to start blabbering all kinds of bullshit...
They are only as good as the enabling support they receive as a complete fight force.
@@im-that-guy-pal Huh?

Getting that voice box ready for combat baby! OOHH-RAHH
aye aye is two words and he wasn't calling his instructor by his rank.
One drill instructor tried testing out a recruit in my platoon and said spin spin around look up look down right now look right look left look right look left spin spin spin 🤣🤣then u hear fast as he could "AYEAYESIRAYEAYESIREAYEAYESIRAYEAYESIR
:57 - 1:00 watch that guy to the left smile lmao. I've been there fighting a smile when drill instructors get funny so I thought that was hilarious!
That's how it's done. No one even questioned or talked back. Good job.
They are the funniest people on this world. My GREATEST thrill was when I became an officer and they had to call me SIR and SALUTE ME... The ONLY sad part was I was so use to calling them sir, I cost change that part inside of me. I owe them my life...
The guy beside him tryin to hold back his laughter
You dont make men feeding them Marshmallows and gummi bears...
18tangles If you can't handle someone yelling at you, you definitely can't handle someone shooting at you. It's as simple as that.
18tangles Sure, except this is a tried and true practice and Australia isn't exactly known for it's military prowess,(you sure taught those emus a lesson though). So excuse us if we continue with our own methods.
18tangles Lol thanks for the laugh mate. Talking a big game for Australia is like your little brother telling you how tough he is.
People watching the video: "Wow this is funny!"
The soldier: "Am I a joke to you?"
Wtf why drill instructors always wear tight ass pants!
you very observant what else do you bitch about?
He must wear tight pants.
Floyd jackson Be thankful it wasn't Jack Black as your DI. He'd be in *Stretchy Tights*
@S V you right bro
I love how the other recruits just have "Again with this shit..." looks on their faces.
This is amazing. Just goes to show that drill sergeants have a sense of humor, and aren't these cold hearted jerks.
you know that kid is going to be a great marine
human's are so weird
he kept doing it because he would call for inspection in which you'd pull up your rifle and pull down the bolt for in section and you'd have to look down while pulling the bolt down and this cadet didn't look down as he was pulling the bolt down. I don't see how he made it to comp for rifle team if he didn't know this simple movement.
*inspection
oh...ok.
I thought he was just ducking with him, but that's understandable.
gotta do it right, otherwise you're doing it wrong.
+Dave Marx for a recruit, there is no doing it right
Eric m
Hah
Ah, that's what he was doing wrong... Thanks for the clarification!
