Spot on, sir.
+JackHoward hey thanks jack howard
Nice meeting you today, Jack.
Was this joke intended?
+JackHoward *looks in comment section* Oh yeah, it's only Jack Howard, one of my favorite you tubers. Ya know, nothing special.
"Dom Fera is very art" - New York Times
Did NOT see that going in that direction. Loved the bit where she erased the model's hand. and that final shot was pure brilliance.
Bloody brilliant.
She'll just brush it off.
+Lyokokrill With a stroke of good luck, I'm sure of it.
+JC4MC this video was a STROKE of genius...
She looks like she was in a lot of pain...t
Screw it I tried
but like, how does she get her victims. does she throw'em in a van and Gogh?
+RefinedTerror You should see her decoupage (Supernatural joke)
Simply amazing!
+AntVenom Yo thanks AV! Always bringing love, you are
+DominicFear OMG I AM TALKING TO YOU RIGHT NOW YAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS
I definitely did not expect to see Ant here! I had to check if it was actually Ant or just a fake account!
I'm disturbed and delighted. The idea of a serial painter is a blockbusting concept.
I must've watched this video about 11 times now, and I only just realised I need that actual painting on my wall!
The use of colour and the look of the blood is just very stylized and endearing to me. It caught me off guard too which I like. It’s probably one of my favourites that dom has made
That gave me a slight Kubrick vibe. The violent front with the upbeat sounding tune in the background. Good short! Looks like a movie trailer for some kind of French film.
Right when the twist happened I was smiling the entire rest of the video.
This seems like a cold open for X-Files or Supernatural. xD
My thoughts exactly.
Seriously, I was waiting for the x-files theme to start playing
I love the constant balance on this channel between really good filmmaking and videos about space frogs and goats and lazers
Oh my God, this is the greatest idea for a video ever... I'm literally ashamed of myself for not thinking of it first. This is genius. I can't even... I don't... :sigh: You should run with this idea, Dom. This is fantastic stuff.
For those who wish to know, the song is Aline by Christophe.
I guess that's why they call it PAIN...ting.
I have thought about this short film constantly since it first came out. I love it to pieces. Thank you Dom.
Oh my god Dom I was eating! Jesus that took an awesomely unexpected turn though.
Dom, your brain is both amazing and terrifying. Never change.
Still amazing five years later.
In case people were wondering, the song in this video is called Aline by Christophe.
That was really good! I actually got chills! Your use of the red paint was perfect. The thing that a lot of people don't understand is how to make blood meaningful enough for it to be scary. If you use too much, it just becomes obvious that it isn't real. Blood is a precious component to the human body, and every drop used needs to be felt by the audience. Rather ironic that the character is using paint to create this effect. Well done!
As soon as the brush started going for the red, I called it. Really fantastic concept!
Holy shit Dom. Never cease to amaze me
Wow French Death Note is much more interesting than I thought...lol. Really great job, Dom. Did you do the singing?
Am I the only one who thought it was really obvious? The red highlights in among the black and white. The way she looked confused as the artist reached for the red. As soon as she reached for the red I was like "voodoo painting, got it".
Once again Dom has completely blown my expectations this is beautiful yet dark, minimalist yet full of deeper story just below the surface. I can't wait to see what Dom does in the future, in my opinion the most underrated creator on UA-cam.
This is so cool. I almost wish there was more to it, that the idea was expanded on. But the abruptness of it really does serve perfectly.
You definitely bring something new to the table
This feels like an advert for something. This is good, very professional.
That went in a different direction than I expected
Seems like she could be a cool character to have as an antagonist in a super hero series....
I was legitimately shocked by that. Great job once again.
Why did I think this would be normal. It's a Dom Fera video. Couldn't possibly be normal.
In all seriousness amazing job!
Fantastic work. Haha.
What's crazy is the French Dispatch came out about 6 years after this and also includes painting, weird combinations between black & white and colour, violence and the song Aline.
Excellent video! Really breaking away from the lazer collection in a way that's just... awesome.
Holy shit, favourite-ing this. It's like something out of Hannibal
Oh, that is neat!
I would watch a feature length film with this idea for sure but this alone is wonderful because it sparks so many ideas in your imagination such as what happens to the bodies, how and why she gets her victims and how it all started. It's perfectly fine leaving those mysteries to ponder because that's what gives it, it's magic.
"Always leave them wanting more."
Great choice in music and I like how you used the filter for the red color.
from the makers of Death Note... Death Canvas!
Seriously though, this was an incredibly well made film. Dom, you just keep getting more and more talented
I am in love with the concept of this film and it was executed so wonderfully!
That was really dark damn dude
Simply amazing
The power of the paint brush.
Wow dude that was such a great short! Love the stylized colors.
This was eerie... but brilliant. An excellent idea with minimal production needed but played excellently.
holy unexpected dom
Wow I really like this
absolutely fantastic Dom
Such art, very paint, wow, much blooooodie
Very to the point, such an artform to be able to be so concise yet brilliant!!
Dom, thank you for this deliciously creepy and beautiful short. Really gets me in the Halloween spirit!
Took me by surprise, very good!
That was so cool! I would love to see a movie of this. Awesome idea, and killer short. Short, short.
Et j'ai crié, crié, Aline ! Thank you for this man, well done
Holy shit son. You're back and you're back strong.
came here to watch lazer collections for nostalgic reasons, and this was gr8
The final shot reminded me of Dexter and his blood slides!!!
Was not expecting that...
amazing video, as always
i really want that painting now, please auction it off or something
+user_1 that's a good idea, would be worth a lot someday, to someone.
very good video. wasnt expecting that
Wow this is amazing! That last shot gave me chills!!!
Now THAT'S some prime Halloween content.
It had a surprisingly light feel for a horror/slasher short. Very matter-of-fact, if that makes sense. I really dug it, dude. Keep up the excellent work!
that was just freaking amazing
Oh my goodness. Just. Wow
that had such a good twist
beautifully done
Amazing.
Well I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight...
Thanks Dom.
That was actually amazing. Good job, Dom!
was not expecting that. Excellent work, Dom!
Never loved a video more than this one
I knew something was up when the red paint, was, well, red. The glasses were a good idea, too, making it easier to show the blood coming out of the eye.
Well, that was horrifying...
I love it
Damn, was not expecting that. Well done.
Such dark. Very art. Wow.
I'm in love with this
That was awesome.
I can't be the only one who expected things to turn really dark really quickly.
Well, that was far different than I expected. Cool. Side note, I love her sunglasses!
That is actually a really interesting concept.
Fantastic and unsuspected
I watched this when it first came out and now I'm watching this again because it's just so amazing! I wish I could do that
Nice. I figured out the red was for cuts pretty quickly (very cliché compared to 10 years ago) but the white was pretty clever
I WANT A MOVIE
Gotta say, I did not see that coming. Masterful as always Dom, keep it up
Dude....dude this was amazing.
That escalated majestically!
Incredible
this is beautiful
Great idea!
Amazing
This is fantastic. Got a real Winding Refn/ David Lynch feel.
It reminded me of Teller's shadow trick
This perfection, definitely didn't see that coming in the least
Fantabulous, dearie
Awesome idea!
Genius
o.o
That's one hell of a comeback, Dom.
Breathtaking
