As a kid, I thought Jasmine was an adult, no idea she was technically a teen. The things that go over kids' heads... It's even sadder when you learn that back then, no one cared because of the shorter lifespans.
The shorter life spans are the exact reason why she actually was an adult in those times. A girl was considered a grown woman once she began menstruation. I once read that in those times, if you lived to be 40 years old, you were an elderly person.
Also, they worked their bodies so very much harder back then than we do now, so if women waited to have kids, they would have had more complications during pregnancy- just like how today women in their 40's are deemed to have high-risk pregnancies.
Not necessarily saying that it's right, but there are actually legitimate reasons why some things were done the way they were back then. It's not because no one cared about it. @nuez No, I don't approve of people criticizing story building when they clearly have no idea how to do it themselves. You can't logically object to the villain being a villain, because that is necessary to the story conflict. There would be no story without Jafar and his villainous plans for the heroes to overcome; it's as simple as that. And no one who doesn't have villainous tendencies themselves would be impressed by Jafar in this scene: the entire film has made it clear that he is the villain and he is ultimately punished for it. That is how story arcs WORK. Anyone who is admiring Jafar is seriously disturbed, and would be disturbed regardless of whether they watched the film. True. It wasn't frowned upon for 18-year-olds to be with 40-year-old men back then. Even 17 with a 20-year-old guy. We were latchkey kids and grew up way fast. Majority of us were working two jobs to support the family while going to school. I liked that now it's forced for 17-18 to slow down and still look at your future and figure out your life instead of being forced to be an adult and support the family.
The thing is - Jasmine kissed Jafar in order to distract him (even HE was shocked by that). She looked all seducing and alluring, and when he almost turned around to see Aladdin trying to reach the lamp - she did the only thing she could (kissed the hell out of him). Soooo... I don't get all the comments about "villains doing villain things" :) UPD: I am talking only about the fact of "who kissed who" situation :) he didn't do it. I agree that she could have distracted him in million different ways. Nowadays she would definitely punch him, but back then she used "feminine" power. Yeah, it didn't look pretty. But it certainly distracted EVERYONE in the room :))

It was supposed to be gross, that’s the whole point of the scene. Disney isn’t promoting pedos. Literally the next frame is eago making a grossed out face and everybody looking shocked
Lol you sure
@@jessicavedilago7271 ugh, yes. Context. Context is very important.
Wake up Disney Pedo Land is conditioning your children plainly and blatantly in your faces. You the type to hand yours over for a bag. I get it you want to keep Disney pure in your eyes... reality check Disney is never been pure!! Ever!! Enjoy pedo fantasy land!!
If only the world of children's entertainment was as innocent as you clearly think it to be.
@@littlbbygl29 you guys are just desperately searching for the next thing to cancel because you want attention. people are going to get tired of this charade eventually
Aladdin be like: What The Fuck💀
Because in the '90s they weren't really as strict as they are now
Actually the opposite is true, there's a lot more room for story telling than ever before. Thankfully girls growing up don't have to settle for this 14 yr old depiction of them "seducing" a male villain for survival. 😂😂😂😢😢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Soooo... I don't get all the comments about "villains doing villain things" :)
UPD: I am talking only about the fact of "who kissed who" situation :) he didn't do it. I agree that she could have distracted him in million different ways. Nowadays she would definitely punch him, but back then she used "feminine" power. Yeah, it didn't look pretty. But it certainly distracted EVERYONE in the room :))
Thank you somebody who actually makes sense
The company wanted that in there. That's the problem.
@@blueseptember2174 it really not a problem at all....
@@blueseptember2174 you guys just wanna see something thats not their.... everyone got a problem with everything these days
It's like whoever posted this clip never actually watched the movie.
All versions of Aladdin have this scene, Faerie Tale Theatre's version has it.
Actually, almost all fairytale stories have this. Not just Aladdin.
the live action of aladdin doesn't tho
@@alexmartin4994 that's because they fixed the mistakes from the first one so peeps don't get mad like this short.
Every folklore that inspired Disney are f-ed up, but they CHANGE the content to make it family friendly.... Though they did bad job at that... But ig it's old movies so 🧑🦯🧑🦯🧑🦯
Sleeping Beauty's story is messed up
@@everbooked omg totally. That's one of the worst ever created.
SHE IS 15!! 😭😭
That’s scary bc that’s jasmines uncle💀
Aladdin’s face is exactly how I would react to that scene 😅
aladdin knew what he just saw 💀
I’m pretty sure in a different version of the story they were siblings so that’s where my mind went to
Sugar Daddy for Jasmine 😂
Poor animators who had to draw those frames
animators when drawing Jasmine:😄
animators where drawing her kissing Jafar:😐
I think animators would enjoy animating Jasmine in that outfit.
@@vetarlittorf1807I mean:)
it’s not bad writing by any means, it gets the reaction it needed, but either way jasmine in red is so gorgeous honestly
Jasmine was my first crush
Did he say it was bad writing?
@@artistaroundtheblock2047 They probably mean the "how did Disney get away with it" caption.
I didn't even recognize that reference until now.
What? The evil guy in the movie did something immoral? Wow, how dare the script writers allow that 🤯
Aladdin’s face is the face I made when I saw this💀
ALADDIN WAS ALL OF US 😭😭
Aladdin’s face says it all 🤣
the way little me was absolutely disgusted staring at the screen in shock when that part came on screen, because WHAT JUST HAPPENED¿??
Aladdin gonna need therapy after witnessing that
We were supposed to be creeped out and disgusted by it. That was the idea. Jafar was trying to force the Sultan into letting him marry Jasmine. The Sultan even said Jefar was too old for her. Sort of the point. It was the point.
even Aladdin's shocked
and the body proportions go crazy 💀💀
Even the songs says💀"iLleGaL~"
When I was younger me and my younger siblings didn’t understand what this was, we were all like why Jasmine whyyyy? And then when she went back to normal, we were all like yasssss, we knew you didn’t like Jafar. 😂 Now that we’re older, we know it’s smth different- 😂 💀
Me don't understand.
You must've been some real dumb children because it's made very obvious she's only acting as though she likes him to fool him. You literally see her come up with the plan in order to protect Aladdin from being discovered. Like...its a super easy scene to understand and follow.
@@rach992you don't wanna KNOW☠
That’s literally the point though. The bad guy is doing a bad thing.
The thing is is in this instance jafar's actually innocent look at that scene again she kisses him
Me: 👁️👄👁️
Aladdin: 👁️👄👁️
Everyone: 👁️👄👁️
A lot tamer than the original stories and what would actually happen if someone found a genie
altho Jasmine is fifteen, she looks and behaves a lot older, and they never really MENTION her age in the movie so I'm sure everyone just assumed she was an adult.
True, she doesn't have a canonical age.
But the creators knew her age and… 💀
Aladdin's face is my legit reaction
Back when you could appreciate good writing and making someone uncomfortable wasn't a crime.
aladin is like"what the fuck am i watching"😂😂😂
