I worked with ECE's in school boards and daycare as a child and youth worker. majority ECE's make minimum wage . Very few ECE get into a school board to make $30+/hr. The wait list is long and the current ECE's, like teachers don't leave. You wait for them to retire for spots to open up. Unless this is your absolute passion, I wouldn't recommend a degree where most make minimum wage at odd hours. Most start doing after school programs, 3pm-6pm Mon-Fri. That is $45/day.
