Well said Shade...hope they can make it out to California...but if not...how I'll catch them next summer while I'm in Europe for vacation...it's not likely but if the stars align, right? 😎🎸
@@Thommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm This is incorrect. It sounded great, and they started & finished at their allotted time (16:00 - 16:25) after their allotted changeover time (15:35 - 16:00). 🙂
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Dave, Ben, and Rabea are a super rare combination of equal parts cerebral, visceral, and virtuoso. Bea, you guys are the best thing going in rock and metal right now, prog or not. Have a great weekend!
From 7:26 onwards... Ah man that brought a tear to my eyes :') I know how all of you guys have worked so hard to get to this point. Bea you are my absolute inspiration as a guitarist, and your songwriting is just out of this world dude... And Dave and Ben are just so tight, and so fucking talented as musicians! Keep on plugging away, you guys are meant to do this. Much love!
No they won't. Not for an instrumental band. U see Steve Vai, satriani selling out football stadiums? No. They will sell tickets, but not at big venues.
@@reselling4life31 exactly. In those 10 minutes I heard maybe 10 good riffs that could be foundation of good songs, but each one was repeated once or twice and then hastily changed to some other riff or (even worse) weird marginally atonal part which supposedly is there to connect those riffs. For example that move at 5:57 which lasted whole 4 seconds. Seriously this kind of bands are like jazz for metalheads. Good to grab some ideas, refresh your ears and feel cool and elite. But it will never get popular. Not even close to Vai or Satriani level, heck even monsters like Guthrie Govan can't get there.

I haven't heard such a powerful trio of soloists since Cream. Each song, each player - are basically playing rhythmic solos like Cream revolutionized. Toska is God. Toska is Cthulu.
That really pleases me, because I always feel like I lose the biggest part of a band's energy through the loss of the integrity of their tone. And Toska, dare I say, is one of the best sounding bands in the business.
I spotted myself! This was one hell of a good set, just wish it was longer. One of my highlights of the whole weekend was being right at the front for this. Loved it!
I can't believe how huge this sounds! I know it's been recorded properly and not off someone's phone, but holy shit, it sounds like Bea is about 12 people, Ben is a titan and Dave is a goddamn earthquake!
you gave me n my son a fistbump in the disability zone that weekend, my lad was so fkn happy (me too :D).. was nice of ya to come over and say hi... legendary status in our eyes!
Never have i ever come across something like this in life! That was so epic, a complete journey i must say! Can’t admire you guys enough for this! Thank you for your music! Cheers from Pakistan Rabea! ❤️
I can not imagine what it's like to realize dream together that you had all three for over 10 years "we will do the download festival someday," they said, and they realized it, congratulations Rabea, Dave and Ben and all those who could help you near and far along this journey, before new projects that many like me are waiting to hear and support and encourage as it should !!
I just realised which band Toska reminds me of, in a sonic sense, not because the music is the same, but because the HUGE sound belies the fact that there are only 3 guys. RUSH. There's a "big" thing going on that few 3-piece bands manage to achieve. Wall of sound, yet not cluttered or messy.
dave's bass tone is incredible
5:33 favorite part
Everything Dave is incredible!
More mids, less low-end, and all through a Darkglass Microtubes amp I believe.
So djent
You know a band has that X factor when they can sound better live than the actual record.
And the sound of the record is phenomenal!

seems to be fixed in post tho.. sometimes Bea's guitar makes sounds he doesnt play in the video..
It sounds so good because the amps are mic'd. But yeah this is killer.

Revisiting all the Toska after today's news... Sad times, but we've still got the tunes. Thanks for being amazing!

David Rowlands I agree it was amazing. I'd love to see Bea do a video on his ambient sound setup

add john mayer trio to that list
Thank you Toska for bringing such music to the world! Forever legends!
That end bit is the best outro ever
Believe it or not people but this sounded like it was on vinyl in that tent, most crisp metal sounds I've ever heard
That really pleases me, because I always feel like I lose the biggest part of a band's energy through the loss of the integrity of their tone. And Toska, dare I say, is one of the best sounding bands in the business.
That snare sounds powerfull
That outro is probably the best piece of music ever written..
Don’t think I’ve ever clicked so fast
HOW TF DOES THIS SOUND SO GOOD - CLEAN AND MASSIVE AT THE SAME TIME - OMG
I spotted myself! This was one hell of a good set, just wish it was longer. One of my highlights of the whole weekend was being right at the front for this. Loved it!
Words cannot describe my love for this ... This inspires me
Omg ! The sound quality is fucking amazing. The best talents, on the stage where they belong!
7:26 Gives me chills this bit.
Holy crap dude. That was amazing. Gave me goosebumps watching that. ❤️
Great performance, would love to see you guys live in the US!
And Australia
I’d love to see a live recording of When Genghis Wakes! It’s such a strong song.
Damn this looks life changing, nice going guys👌
Toska.
I may have been living under a rock, but you are my favourite discovery of 2020.
Brilliant......just Brilliant 🎸✌️😎🎸
end of the world music till 7.26 then the bliss of a final breath wow
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!
(also, the sound quality is sublime)
All three of you are so talented....
God damn, this is on a completely different level 😦 just jaw dropping is all I can say
No words... simply badass
I'm somewhere in that crowd! Honestly I can say that this was one of my favourite performances at download, definitely the best on Sunday 🤘🤘👍
I'm somewhere in there too man, it was excellent!
The last riff is simply iconic. 🤘💪
Devastating bass tones and killer guitar tones brother.. super tight especially the odd times. Much love Bea
the sound.... the clean playing.... 11 /10 points
What a shame I'll never get to see them live. This is probably one of my favorite songs of all time!
This sounds so rad guys! Massive props. What a crushing tone
Love your Jam :-) Please endless!

Beautiful.
Seeing this in person was unbelievable
Great compositions
Ohhh I love Toska!
Awesome!
Wonderful!
Wow, their sound is MASSIVE.
A lot of talent on that stage. Brilliant.
Mind blowing!! Would love to see more live performances with the mastered sound!

I was sadly only on the edge of the tent, but they absolutely owned the place. Love this band, hope to see them at their own show one day!

My favorite song by Toska!
Absolutely epic. These three just kill it, every single time. Amazing.

Impressive & tight playing - great show💪🏻👍🏻 New VX100 Super Kraken looks cool on that big stage!
The vibe In that tent was amazing. Wish I could he back there again. Smashed it lads ❤️
Great!
Bea, just wanted to comment on how organic the three of you are together. Just true talent and musicianship. Great performance.
Hell yea. I appreciate a band who claims their performance is live and it's actually recorded live. Sounds great.
Wish I could’ve been there to see this godlike performance 🤘
Low key obsessed with that snare sound
I believe there’s a sample layered in. Sounds like a sample from GGD
Jacob Craddock that could be it. I remember Bea saying that they used the Brass snare when they record Ode to the Author
I can only hope to one day be as good as Rabea.
This is so damn good! And that Poe shirt is metal AF.
When I read that comment i had to look to see if it was Teletubbies or Edgar. Either works for me.
This leaves me speechless!! Awesome
Mega performance!! 👏👏👏
Goosebumps all the way
