Imagine being that old pallet and preparing to become firewood. And then suddenly out of nowhere you become a guitar. How amazing is that please?
Sounds like some Pixar personification. I like it.
I like how this man puts the music demo as the background music instead of shooting a shit ton of different demo videos
I put short demo vids on my other channel of guitars I have for sale, but I don't clutter my main channel up with them.
Palletcaster
"Les pallet" 😅
jacktheripped I just pissed myself you fkr 😂😂😂
Brilliant work man
You're living the dream!
so are you, now!
Nice! I made maybe 4 basses from pallets back in the early nineties. I was in a school, cabinet maker line. They got some machinery from Japan and that company used bubinga for pallets.
In the past couple years, I have watched this video several times. It inspired me to build a few guitars electric and acoustic, something that a few years ago I could never have imagined doing. Thanks, Tim Sway. You have proven to me that not only can almost anyone build a working guitar from scratch (not a parts-caster, but from boards and fret wire), but that a guitar can be built out of almost anything.
awesome man. Very kind of you to take the time to write this.
That guitar is amazing ,design and idea ,everything . It's also slap in the face of music instruments industry . A statement
B-but it's not made from flamed maple and premium mahogany toanwood
Tim once again looks and sounds awesome, thank you.
This is the greatest guitar that i have seen. Love the tone and pure simplicity. This is the essence of an instrument - hand made with love from just about anything.
Looks and sounds great, Tim! Nicely done.
Love your work, Tim!
Well .. once upon a time a friend just drove through the harbour of hamburg to all those storage houses in search for good wood. He had in his van some pallets for exchange. The guys who ran those storage houses had no problem whatsoever when he wanted one special pallet and gave one of his in exchange. And a bottle of liquor and a tip on top. For them pallet was pallet. But he knew better. The better Pallets are made of locally cheap but sturdy wood. And in some countries that is (or was) teak or similar exotic hard woods. Pallets are used again and again and again. So it's quite possible to find a pallet that is real old and seen a lot of places.
I've yet to get the mahogany or teak pallet, but I've gotten a few good ones, like this ash pallet.
@@timsway I had a pallet from India made from a dense, reddish brown hardwood. It planed up into some super stuff. It looks a lot like mahogany. Great find!
@@The_man_himself_67 some day I hope to get that lucky!
I love watching your work Tim. You take the phrase "think outside the box" to new levels with each project. Your imagination and creativity knocks each guitar design out of the park. Keep 'em coming dude!
thank you very much
Tim,
Don't know what I like better, the build or the tone! Simply amazing job! You Rock!
thanks man! I'm kind of glad the pickups I had in mind didn't work because these are much better. I just wish I designed the body for them!
beautiful, Tim. Thank you
Beautiful work.
LOVE IT. I love the records being reused as pickup covers, what a cool design solution. Very cool guitar, very cool tone. Nicely done!
thank you!
Nice project. Love it. Great sound.
Most beautifully one yet!! Excellent!
you give more than just ideas but also hope..thank you so much sir Godbleess
Excellent work!!! Usually pallets are used and abused so amazing such a lovely guitar can come from one 👍🎸
Talk about ALL the tools and an amazing artist that knows how to use them, great work sir. Thanks for sharing. A pic guard made from a record might be cool as well.
thanks. I use records a lot for pick guards and even pickup tops nowadays for my own custom p90s and humbuckers. be good! -T
Yup, I need to watch your channel. I'm chomping at the bit to start building and this is just the inspiration I need. Great stuff.
i love this song in the background! great job!
Another beautiful looking and sounding guitar. Best use of a pallet I've seen in a while and no drama about it being food-safe.
hahaha! thanks man
I really love this kind of build. It makes me want to get some wood tools and try to make a guitar.
Good job, and the final product is amazing!
thanks! check this out: ua-cam.com/video/AzDnHc8FJjQ/v-deo.html
Amazing work Tim! Absolutely love these projects!
thank you!
Looks awesome, keep on building
I really dig your aesthetics. Great job!
Must be nice to have a cnc machine
It is really nice! Steep learning curve but totally worth it. It doesn't really do anything I can't do by hand, but it does it repeatably, more accurately and, with intricate carvings, much faster.
Has it paid for itself yet?
I'd love to have a cnc machine but a basic 3 axis is around 10 grand...
I think it's paid for itself - it or at least it earns its keep. I started my biz with a circ saw and no table saw. I could still work without the table saw, but man I'm glad to have it! my machine is a cncrouterparts.com and you can get in the game for well under $10k with a smaller machine like mine. $6k-ish, depending upon the trimmings. you assemble yourself but it's easy. Tell them I sent you!
Ok thanks for the info! :) and keep the good work!!
I always come back to this one for the background song (and i love the design) something about that song just vibes so well with me
I love that we get to hear the guitar you're building while we watch you build it.
thank you! Most commenters just complain about what a horrible guitar player I am. lol
Wow man, you are very talented, congratulations! That guitar is awesome
Woww you is a genius, it's incredible the pure sound, very clean and nice chords. Thank you so much. From Brazil, we love instruments. 🎸🎶🎼🎵🎻🎸😍
Beautiful playing and tone.
Such a charming video! And all looks so deceivingly easy.....Thanks for making these masterpiece's!
Damn, that guitar's beautiful. Really shows what a talented luthier can do with scrap wood! You're a great inspiration, between you and Crimson Guitars, I started building my own guitars, I feel like I am in great luck to live in a time where I can watch inspirational people do amazing things with tools from the comfort of my home, and learn a lot!
Tin Man awesome I am also a crimson guitars watcher XD
This world is smaller and smaller !
You’re right !
He is a good builder of things, but he is not a luthier.
Anyone who can build a functional guitar neck is a luthier, believe me. It takes precision that a simple "builder of things" will not be able to pull off ;)
Tin Man “Builder of things” isn’t an insult first of all and second, I guess his CNC is the luthier according to what you say. You can think what you want to though, fanboy.
Right, according to your ideas, there are no human luthiers. Instead of Tim, the CNC machine is the luthier here. Previously it was chisel, hammer and a router.
Also, soldiers aren't killing anyone, the guns and explosives do all the work.
Came for the guitar, stayed for the soothing music.
Great stuff, Tim ! This was an awesome video. Thanks for posting
thank you!
Great job! Thanks for sharing.
Well done. skillful fingers.
It sounds great ..
Sounds so great!
Looks great sounds great as well, amazing work.
It's pallet heaven. Beats going to pallet hell and getting thrown on a bonfire.
One Pallet, One guitar, One by Metallica please , loll
Great work. I like the clips in the body
Nice work, thanks for inspiration
tonewood has left the chat
Tonewood never existed in the first place. It’s all a lie
Captain Cabbage In electric guitars it’s B.S. in acoustics there are differences.
Still blows my mind to hear some of the all-time greats, like Greg Howe, still talk about "It's made of swamp ash, so it's got that (crisp, rich, warm, whatever whatever) tone..."
Not disregarding what you're getting at here but you'd be very surprised at the type of wood some pallets are made from...
@@GriffinBenchmark yeah, some are some really nice and good-looking wood
After studying all of the guitars available on the market the only thing I can say is good for you!
Awesome. I love the song. A Jazzy unique sound
Thanks for sharing
Wow, amazing work! Tfs!
that is bad ass bro.
hope your making money its nice to see someone doing something they love a guitar made with heart and soul already in it yours keep it up
thank you!
Bravo!!!!!!
Beautiful work!
They keep getting better and better. Great work.
thank you!
Im loving the reclaimed timber stuff. I find some real gems at my local wood reclamation yard. It the source of my guitar building inspiration. There is no such thing as scrap wood 👍 just a lack of imagination .
your playing is very nice. you are almost upstaged by your own music (joke). I feel very chilled after watching and listening to this one Tim. Thanks.
oh wow, thanks man! I played bass for a living for a long time and picked up a little on guitar (taught some guitar lessons and such). I have my limits on it and try to stay within them :)
Brilliant work. A piece of art you must love what you do.
good work!! Wonderful guitar!! Best regards, Giovanni from Italy
Sweet looking guitar, super cool that it’s out of a single pallet
thanks man! I already started a couple more bodies from the same pallet, too! :)
I've got this coffee table that Ive been trying to make into a pallet!?!?..haha!....love your work man! BE GOOD!
:) ua-cam.com/video/g0uoxJDBsh0/v-deo.html
That was very awesome! I hope you get over a million views and are compensated well for what you do man! (Monetarily)
Tim, I love these reclaimed guitar builds. They are probably some of my favorite videos on UA-cam, along with your whiskey cabinet builds. I can’t play guitar, in fact I have absolutely zero musical talent, but these are just amazing. Thank you for sharing your talents with the rest of us!
Chaser Williams thanks man. I'm glad you like them!
Tim - put some P90's in that monster.
Just don't get the stock Epiphone ones, the ones in my Wildkat are garbage lol
I wish I could build a good guitar from scratch like this guy. Tone sounds rich IMO!
A pro shop guitar builder using a couple pallet boards for a solid body is not much of a challenge.
If he made the neck too I would be impressed. If he did I missed it.
To make an acoustic would be subscribe worthy.
I love the nail holes. It gives it more character.
Awesome, you´ve left me without words!!!
thanks man!
That's amazing and all from one pallet, you are a very talented guy and use of the vinyl was a stroke of genius, have a thumbs up just for being talented with timber
Crushed it. Again.
Thanks amigo. I thought you were gonna call me? #mancrush
That's one premium pallet.. (Pallets are usually made out of pine or fir in varying quality, which first had me wondering about this build. But then when sanded, I saw it was ash. Was surprised.)
This pallet was ash. Thanks
We get a lot of oak pallets around here. Neighbor collects them when he can.
an Oak pallet would make a fine electric guitar, just like this one
@@telerooo5213 oak is too dense for good guitar. Maybe it could work on semi-hollow, but definitely not on solid body.
Oak pallets can be found near any business who ships across the USA
Great work .
That’s it!! That’s my favorite guitar you have build!!! Looks great and it sounds really nice!!! One of these days I’ll have enough money to buy one and display at my studio! Great job again man!!!!
aww, thanks man, but you haven't seen the next one yet, or the one after that :)
Love it! I have a tele made out of a cutting board. Everyone laughs until I start playing.
So, just a regular tele? :D
David Frantz the builder’s take on a Tele, so yeah. 😎
Awesome job, I wish I could make guitars too, but I just have the pallets.
Nohpa :3 just start! Check out tdpri dot com forums for building threads.
Your channel is awesome! So inspiring, Thanks✌
Beautiful guitar Tim. The combination of hand work and CNC was really great to see.
cheers! It can all be done without the cnc, but man that thing speeds up the process :)
The machinery is one thing But you're imagination is outstanding
Well this blows the whole "tonewood" thing out of the water.
Great guitar build! You make it look fun! Love your soundtrack too. Nice playing!
thanks! it is fun :)
Love what you do Tim
thanks!
Damn cool. I'd love to see a Les Paul Junior built this way
Linda guitarra! Deve ter ficado super leve e barata, menos o maquinário. Uma pena os pallets daqui acho q não tem uma madeira tão seca. Belo trabalho!
Great video,great talent!!!
Awesome work! 👍
Now in my mind why would anybody thumbs down this, right on bro.
; i think that some people do it in spite. the nay sayers.
nice amazing
Beautiful
Fantastic!
One man! One soul ! One mission ! One vision !! 😎
Much better sounding music on that video👍 still some work to do on the playin’ but very nice work😀 Jag pickups sound amazing
It looks great and I love the use of records brilliant idea. Forgot to say sounds awesome.
amazing craftsmanship. and nice playing, too!
Thank you!!!
Love it, nice! Probably would've made the body double the thickness to have more body to the sound, but it really is just down to personal taste.
cheers. I was in to making very thin guitars when I made this batch, but I did get a little carried away.
It would give more body to the guitar but nothing to the sound.
Benedek Gál n
Bad Azz Brother. And nice use of a soldering iron for marking fret positions;-)
William Lutes Yeah isn't he a genius ;)
I learned it from watching you!
Simple but great sound.congrat boss
Wow, great job! Congrats!!!!
Check in Memphis to see if Gibson left any pallets not destroyed. Premium stuff I'm sure.
My brother awesome pallet Guitar good job later :)
Beautiful work my friend..😃
Beautiful job, sir!
