  • I’m filming a series of videos in and around Hemswell Antiques Centre in Lincolnshire. In this film, you’ll meet Rober Miller the owner of Hemswell…the largest antiques centre in Europe!
A fascinating chap who’s doing some incredible things and changing the way the antiques business is traditionally run!
Do you have fabulous antiques to talk about, or for me to to sell for you? I’m always looking for interesting items and people to feature and make films about here on my channel
    Contact me David Harper www.david-harp...

Brilliant, outstanding, breathtaking! Kicking myself for not moving into the Guards room last December. Fingers crossed later in the year. Great video.

For anyone asking, that room is the place to go for wedding jewelry! No need to worry about conflict diamonds/gemstones, and the prices for good jools are lower than modern retail for comperable items. By rather a lot. The photography centre is making me jealous - dang I wish. A friend just scored a mother lode of Indian silver in a USA storage locker auction. Ought to tell him to truck it over to Hemswell?

Hello David, I discovered you on Peter Combs's wonderful channel, and now I'm hooked on your shows as well! Are there many dealers that deal mostly in Asian Art in these antique centers? So far, as we pass through the various stores, I haven't seen many, if any...Thanks so much David! You're doing such a great job! All the best from Marin County, California!

Between dealer fees and £12 web listing, doubt Hemswell is a place for good deals.

The industry had been stone-dead for years and it isn't coming back. Mahogany furniture, longcase clocks, china and more, all of it is completely out of favour. He must have another business propping up this vanity project.

There is obviously an elite with deep pockets who like personal service, & who don't want to mess about with auctions or traipsing around the country to get the piece(s) they desire. For them Hemswell looks very much like a "one stop shop", & even if it doesn't have everything, it's a good starting point for many.

@@mikeharrington5593 Indeed, yes and 'new money' types wishing to look otherwise can fill their homes with 'heirlooms' from here. IKEA won the war. unfortunately.

There is just SO much inherent value in the type of furniture you mention, that there must be little doubt it'll all make a roaring comeback when people come to their senses and stop buying the expensive, soulless kind from Ikea and elsewhere...I mean, just look at the gorgeous wood and the intricate carvings on most of those old pieces, and you just know that they're only temporarily asleep...I've been buying some in the meantime, at greatly reduced prices!

He’s doing something right! 400 dealers, all paying rent, 400 dealers all selling stock!
