Growing up in Massachusetts this dude is a legend! I graduated high school in 06 and put Ryan Gallnt as my "most inspiried by" in my year book. Awesome episode.

I am from Waltham MA and remember Ryan before he was pro, with Pj skating around Boston and Cambridge MA. Next thing I know these guys became next level pros in Cali.

I'm 3 years late to this comment, but you're completely right dude. Growing up watching this dude and everyone else in the early 2000s completely shaped my skating style and my lifestyle
Ryan Gallants part in Transworld First Love will always be my favourite skate part, smoothest style and the high speed kicky at the end of the line in the hall way 👌

In first love Ryan has this fakie 180 where he Ollie’s first and then turns rather than in one motion and as a kid I was mind blown. Throughout the years of skating he’s one dude I’ve always followed and seem to be under the radar but glad he’s got a 9 episode!

Dude the line he does at the highschool (forget the name of spot) as the music crescendos into the big switch flip over the loading dock rail when the beat drops....still gives me chills. Then does the back heel right over the same loading dock rail.....
When I see guys like joslin treflipping Davis gap n doin inward heels n hard flip reverts over fucking WALLENBERG!@!?? The kids nowadays are aliens man. Idk how kids are supposed make it in skateboarding nowadays when there's are unsponsered 11 year olds skateing hollywood 16 like its fuckimg nothing....back in the day lil kids that ripped were kids like nijah n Sheckler n they were fewer m far between..now every other 10 yr old who grew up skating in California can hard flip 12stairz like nothin, can switch flip front blunt hollywood 12 like nada n not even sniff a sponsorship opertunity. lol....

My favorite growing up. Since 2008 over here. I got his Circa shoe and still one of my favorites because it flipped so well. I want a new part and shoe if possible. However possible. Wish I could be mellow like him. Cheers to recovery and thank you for clearing up the controversial mess of the end of Expedition.

Chris, you are an excellent interviewer. You stay on topic, indulge the side notes and stay genuinely interested. Ryan's Coliseum part was awesome, one of those videos I put and my dad sticks around to watch because he's a Doors fan. Great to hear about all the success.

Great interview. Ryan is good at being engaged in the conversation. I had laughed out loud when Chris asked "Which video?" and Ryan responded straight faced "The DC Video". Obviously that is the name of the video, but the interaction was hilarious since it seems as if he didn't really answer the question.

Im 17 yrs old so I wasn't skating when videos like First Love came out but this dude is literally one of my favorite skaters of all time. He makes me wish I was a young, American, skater boy during the 2000s Transworld days.

Grew up pretty much with him at True East, hasn’t changed a bit. Always the coolest guy and would just hang out with everyone. He’s come pick me up at my house to go skate and I sucked.

Sad to hear Gallant say he never considered himself as a world-class skater. Me and my friends would go nuts if we saw footage of him pop up. He and PJ were our legends

20 mins in(the part they mention PJ) makes me wanna skate! After 4months off skating from an archillies injury. I can’t wait to get back on the board and hit up the loc park and skate for a good 3-4 hours every day after,inbetween and before work.

I remember The back big spin switch crook from his c1rca part was amazing. The journeys thing is pretty crazy, I heard wenning talking about it once... did he not think to talk to Danny or Colin? As they were on Plan B and DC as well

The Mind thing............when you zone out while driving, thats your sub conscious taking over, it basically depends on how good you were when learning to drive (routine) as thats what the mind is depending on when in that state. you probably do the same on instagram while scrolling and then cant remember the last 20 mins. you are training your sub-conscious when in routine form.

I was at Nashville for the Journeys backyard bbq incident you guys were talking about. I was watching Ryan doing flatground at the side of the mini ramp. Had no idea you had been coming back from an injury, one of the things I remember the most if I re-call correctly was how gangster your Nollie Inward Heels were! Dude everything you popped looked HUGE! I felt bad for you guys, all the kids were literally throwing decks and shoes and anything they had at Dyrdek while he was up on the deck of the mini ramp trying to get him to sign stuff. They bombarded him coming out of the RV too. You took time to come over to the barriers where I was watching you skate and signed my shirt, such a nice dude. I remember wondering what happened to you when I came back to watch later on. I will never forget that day, was really cool seeing you skate, hated to hear that was a bad day for you.
You have to track down who ever jumped Kelly and have them on the experience, great episode though I'm always relating to east coast skaters on here thanks guys
