This is gonna sound stupid but I didn’t know melodic death metal could be this melodic until I heard about these guys on the heavy with Andrew and Don podcast. I have a lot of great music to catch up on.
@cortx2lh DT is a primarily atheist band, but the song is the story of Lucifer's exile from Heaven. Stanne has commented before that no matter what you believe in, the epic story of the rebellion in heaven is one of the most exciting examples of folklore ever told, and I'm inclined to agree. Let alone how awesome this song is by itself, and how this song alone is proof of metal's will to stay alive years after a song releases. This song alone is the pinnacle of perfect lyrics and music.
@MegistosZeys they always play behind space, which is from their first album.. although they rerecorded it for colony, and they usually also play moonshield from jester's race album :P which is from 1995-1996
It probably wouldn't make a difference since Mikael was never an official member of In Flames and he was always a member of Dark Tranquillity and still would either way.
i don't know about that, i've never actually seen them live even though i've been a fan for more than half a decade now. but i've seen their dvd from 2004, and on both live shows on that dvd they play behind space.. so i kind of assumed they had kept the style.. but i guess not :P?
@MegistosZeys They used to occasionally, but it didn't get received well by the newer fans. I mean, standing still while a monster like Morphing into Primal is played? That's just ridiculous. Every single one of them need an ear exam. But since In Flames had to make a living, they had to fit themselves to the newer fans' taste. (*Sad Panda)
