    I have a question for you.
    As you're a math teacher and like a card game (Magic the gathering, I guess), I guess you surely have some game theory books, as some or even most games are also invented or built using mathematics. Would you like to present some books you own which contain topics about different theories for example game theory and talk a little bit about them?
    That would be awesome.
    I would be interested how (card) game developers built this game from scratch. They surely use mathematics to keep things as fair and as balanced as possible. Am I right?

I really like the program because has a lot of different pathways as electronic, electrical and physics. But I’m afraid if I choose well because maybe I don’t get a good job as a technician and I need some bachelor or master to get a better pay. The problem is that i don’t know what major could pick. I was thinking on electrical engineering, physic engineering, optics and photonics engineering or biomedical engineering.

    Hi Math Sorcery I have a question, Why does Calculus need Trigonometry? isnt trignometry about Triangles , I understand the algebra but why Trignometry?

    • @carultch
      @carultch 7 днів тому

      Technically, you could learn a limited scope of Calculus without trigonometry, since you could cover a lot of the material for the calculus of polynomials, roots, reciprocals, exponentials, and logarithms, all without touching a single trig function, and still have a good understanding of calculus. However, it is very common that we are interested in the calculus of the trig functions as well, which is why trigonometry is considered a prerequisite to Calculus. There's plenty of applications of trigonometry to the real world, and calculus of trig functions, that trig functions are part of the toolkit of calculus tools we need to learn.
      There are also hidden connections through calculus, between inverse trig and purely algebraic functions. For instance, arctan(x), arccos(x), and arcsin(x) all have algebraic derivatives, which form the basis of trigonometric substitution as an integration technique. As an example, d/dx arctan(x) = 1/(x^2 + 1). You may wonder what the heck arctan(x) has to do with 1/(x^2 + 1), as they seem to be completely unrelated function families.

    @TheMathSorcerer How to understand Physics more in depth in terms of definitions? For example momentum is p = mv what does this say in reality? Even inertia I went through books such as Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, and 3000 solved problems. Still no use watched Walter Lewin. I am kind of lost.

    • @carultch
      @carultch 7 днів тому +1

      Inertia = a property of matter that is its resistance to a change in state of motion. In other words, inertia is the m in F=m*a. It is the property of matter that impedes efforts of other matter to change its velocity. It's very common that physics formulas take the form, "cause = resistance property * effect". Inertia is the resistance property in this formula.
      Inertia is one form of the evidence of mass that we have, and has the same units as mass. The other evidence of mass, is participation in gravitation.
      Momentum is a mathematical construct, that allows us to unify Newton's 3 laws as one master conservation law. This has the advantage of tracking the before-and-after conditions of a system when objects interact (collisions, explosions, etc), without caring about the details of the forces between the bodies. Apply conservation of momentum with other applicable conditions (e.g. conservation of energy), and you can predict the final state after such an event, from the condition before it.
      For the low speed case, momentum is defined as the product of inertia and velocity. More precisely, it is the integral of inertia relative to velocity as a body accelerates from rest. You only need to think about this integral definition, if you are interested in the relativistic case of high speeds. For most events at the human scale, simple multiplication is good enough.
      The master law that unifies Newton's 3 laws:
      Sum of external forces on a system = rate of change in the total momentum of the system
      Each body contributes its value of mass*velocity to the total momentum, which is added up as vectors. The only way to change this total, is for forces from outside bodies to act on something within the system. An isolated system which doesn't interact with anything else, will have its net momentum conserved.

    F’(x) = F(x)/gradient f(x) right 😂

    • @carultch
      @carultch 7 днів тому

      F'(x) means gradient function of F(x), also known as derivative of F(x). I rarely hear it called a gradient in US English, but I've heard it in other dialects of English. Usually, gradient is a multivariable calculus term, and slope is what we call the single variable calculus term.

      @@carultch F’(x) = f(x).
      The joke i was trying to make was that the gradient of f(x) multiplied on f(x) yields F(x) so the inverse would be a solution.
      The gradient of F(x) is f(x) as you have confirmed but my joke is not accurate and thank you for the reminder.

    Why is this channel constantly suggesting new books of the same topic again and again? Book suggestion should take 1 or 2 video for a topic, devoting the whole channel for it is just waste

      For the knowledge that odour can bring. Some people, and I believe the Sorcerer may be one of them, have what is called synaesthesia: the gift of hearing colours, seeing sounds, and smelling words and numbers. And some old books do smell very nice.
