If you notice in some fight scenes, some actions look strange or restricted because of the character models proportions, at least without notable clipping.
Is it just me or does the Chorus stuff feel a lot slower? Just the animation in general has a lower fps feel to it, even when Carolina is fighting and she's supposed to be the fastest fighter in the series.
Raloris it’s due to monty’s death. Monty oum was responsible for all the fight choreography (which he was damn good at) and so after his death all the action scenes in rooster teeth’s shows took a noticeable dip in quality
It's definitely slower. But at least there's the plot handwave of Carolina being badly injured, Locus's increasing reluctance and doubt, and Felix just being happy to toy with Tucker in their fight. It at least picks back up to skillful levels for Carolina vs. Sharkface, even if the fights are still a step down from seasons 8 and 9.
55:12 This was the absolute peak of the show for me. After watching Restoration this scene just makes me tear up. All of the gang, standing next to each other is absolutely priceless
Honestly, the second Wash & Carolina vs Locus & Felix fight and first Carolina vs Sharkface fights are the best post-Monty battles of the entire series.
Washington and Carolina vs Felix and Locus is easily my favourite fight It really gave Wash a true chance to shine, he’s not some little brother freelancer that the others just put up with, he’s actually a soldier, and he’s a skilled one
@@neronick4it’s not that I don’t like Monty’s work I just prefer when characters aren’t sending each other flying with every punch Wash and Carolina vs the mercs felt like skilled fighters duking it out Not a superhuman slugfest It was also just a lot simpler, it wasn’t some crazy over the top action like a fight on the freeway or falling down a building I still liked Monty’s work though, like the fight between the Reds and Tucker against the Meta, that was awesome, same as Tex vs Wash and Meta Also, I kinda have to disagree on the whole animations not being as good, because I didn’t notice any major flaws that the Monty animations lacked
Worst part of griff getting his genitals destroyed is that its a call back to season 1. There Griff was talking shit to tex after they somehow captured her. Then tex said something about not needing a weapon to destroy them. While griff was laughing that off, she took a step forward, which then caused Griff to back up in a hurry saying "Not in the face!"
That’s because Meta had all those A.I’s telling him what to do at once and goes through his energy way faster than her while Carolina had a healing unit and mostly she and her A.I worked as a team
That fight actually impressed me, namely because the impact of their hits was realistic. With some writers and animators, they would insist that Carolina's punches would send the Meta flying. Instead they took a realistic route and made Carolina's hits rather ineffectual. Why? Because a hulking beast that weights 3x that of the blue warrior in front of him isn't going to move much when hit.
Monty Oum's animations are sharp and quick while newer animations feel more soft and slow. That said, even though Monty's art style is messy, I still prefer his style (it's more up to my heart). However, I am still glad that Rooster Teeth continued the series and even animated it. I ❤ RvB!
59:11 has got to be my least favorite fight, the choreography felt flat and choppy and the movement very stretchy and bouncy. Not including the newer seasons of RvB though...
Started watching this and instantly got sad.. being reminded of the legend that was Monty Oum passing... his passion in all his works is so easy to see, it's rare to have such talent and drive these days it seems. I donated to his family not entirely just to help them, but as a way to say thanks to somebody who I never met, yet they still had a big impact on my life, with the wonder they inspired in me when it comes to animation and what you can do with it. tldr; Thank you Monty, may your works and those they've entertained live on forever.
You gotta admit seeing these Spartans beat the shit out of each other or others is pretty fun and way more entertaining than actual halo Spartan fights

Sarge- "Simon's what are you waiting for" Simons- "They look the same which one do I shoot" Tucker "Shoot the one who's winning dumbass" Ahh good times XD 4:13 forgot to post time
Fun fact: Carolina is canonically better at fighting 2v1 than she is on 2v2. Which ironically/unironically suits her character very well since she's very competitive, but doesn't play too well with others.
49:00 what I really love here is that the tank driver and gunner aren’t useless cannon fodder they get Texas on the ropes (this may only be that they have a tank and well tank beats everything) up until York turns the gravity off
At first at thought that the Chorus arc fights were really bad compared to the freelancer arc fights...but they really improved A LOT when you look at the choreagraphy of the fight between felix and locus vs carolina and wash...that fight is easily my second favorite in all the series
Honestly, I didn't realize they used the Halo 2 Mark VI armor design for York until today. They used the Halo 2 color design but animated it in Halo 3 style.

37:24 Agent South has a MA37 Assault Rifle from the Halo Reach game.
37:51 And now she has an MA5c variant.
Who cares
Actually the MA5b model is from CE. The one from Reach is the MA40

Yo thanks for making this
After just finishing restoration… I needed to see these one last time”
Where’s Wash and Meta Vs Reds, literally the first Animated scene in the entire series, the one that made everyone’s Jaw Simultaneously drop
It Bounces Who makes a gun that Bounces this has to got to be the worst gun ever of all time
It is a fuel rod cannon, it is supposed to.
Somewhere a grunt is crying right now
Yes that is the joke, thank
Is it just me or does the Chorus stuff feel a lot slower? Just the animation in general has a lower fps feel to it, even when Carolina is fighting and she's supposed to be the fastest fighter in the series.
Raloris it’s due to monty’s death. Monty oum was responsible for all the fight choreography (which he was damn good at) and so after his death all the action scenes in rooster teeth’s shows took a noticeable dip in quality
@@vlixle2781 Yep. RWBY is at least starting to get better, just watch Cinder VS Neo. That fight is near Monty tier.
lazures HD not his death. He stopped working on Red vs Blue after season 10 in order to focus solely on RWBY
@@nico-v113 He did die, Rooster Teeth made him a tribute video ua-cam.com/video/_465XaHoiGs/v-deo.html
55:12 This was the absolute peak of the show for me. After watching Restoration this scene just makes me tear up. All of the gang, standing next to each other is absolutely priceless
Me before the video: Ok im gonna watch death battle after this.
Video: i got you fam -bonus round plays-
Me- oh bby
Lobo Gaming same here
Honestly, the second Wash & Carolina vs Locus & Felix fight and first Carolina vs Sharkface fights are the best post-Monty battles of the entire series.
I will never forget the Tex vs R/B's fight. Man was that something back in the day. Still is
Im in 2020, and im surprised that this still stands up to how it was a long time ago. Not as amazing but still great.
All the Freelancer fight scenes were incredible, hence why this was just another way of tributing Monty and his work.
Washington and Carolina vs Felix and Locus is easily my favourite fight
It really gave Wash a true chance to shine, he’s not some little brother freelancer that the others just put up with, he’s actually a soldier, and he’s a skilled one
I felt metaphorically (and plot wise) it could've been awesome, but unfortunately the animators weren't at the top of their game after Monty passed.
@@neronick4it’s not that I don’t like Monty’s work
I just prefer when characters aren’t sending each other flying with every punch
Wash and Carolina vs the mercs felt like skilled fighters duking it out
Not a superhuman slugfest
It was also just a lot simpler, it wasn’t some crazy over the top action like a fight on the freeway or falling down a building
I still liked Monty’s work though, like the fight between the Reds and Tucker against the Meta, that was awesome, same as Tex vs Wash and Meta
Also, I kinda have to disagree on the whole animations not being as good, because I didn’t notice any major flaws that the Monty animations lacked
I forgot how much sheer eye candy these fight scenes are. Just- perfect.
Wash is just accepting his fate with cars that he just watches a hog being hurled at him with no movement or anything lol I love it!
LOL, the ending to their fight with Tex and Griffs balls died
big oof
Worst part of griff getting his genitals destroyed is that its a call back to season 1. There Griff was talking shit to tex after they somehow captured her. Then tex said something about not needing a weapon to destroy them. While griff was laughing that off, she took a step forward, which then caused Griff to back up in a hurry saying "Not in the face!"
Those first fights remind me why Monty Oum will be missed, years later still enjoying what he made possible.
GOD
I forgot how funny it was watching griff loss his manhood.
NOOO NOT META HE WAS THE MOST BADASS CHARACTER IN THE SERIES!!!!!!!
That’s because Meta had all those A.I’s telling him what to do at once and goes through his energy way faster than her while Carolina had a healing unit and mostly she and her A.I worked as a team
I think they were talking about how his fight scene got cut off
That fight actually impressed me, namely because the impact of their hits was realistic. With some writers and animators, they would insist that Carolina's punches would send the Meta flying. Instead they took a realistic route and made Carolina's hits rather ineffectual. Why? Because a hulking beast that weights 3x that of the blue warrior in front of him isn't going to move much when hit.
The songs during the Monty Oum era are so good, they just go so well with the fight scenes.
Monty Oum's animations are sharp and quick while newer animations feel more soft and slow. That said, even though Monty's art style is messy, I still prefer his style (it's more up to my heart). However, I am still glad that Rooster Teeth continued the series and even animated it. I ❤ RvB!
Mother and daughter fighting together
45:06
59:11 has got to be my least favorite fight, the choreography felt flat and choppy and the movement very stretchy and bouncy.
Not including the newer seasons of RvB though...
It looks so awkward. But for sure the creativity of the previous seasons really seems to be gone
It's cause Monty Oum made the older stuff
its not the worst offender, but it doesnt look natural
The lighting is a bit annoying also. You can barely see locus in the fight.
59:19 sooo bad I mean that flip is awful they just flipped his character
Started watching this and instantly got sad.. being reminded of the legend that was Monty Oum passing... his passion in all his works is so easy to see, it's rare to have such talent and drive these days it seems. I donated to his family not entirely just to help them, but as a way to say thanks to somebody who I never met, yet they still had a big impact on my life, with the wonder they inspired in me when it comes to animation and what you can do with it. tldr; Thank you Monty, may your works and those they've entertained live on forever.
The music for every battle dominates
45:00 I want whatever Monty was having when he made this absolute masterpiece of a fight
23:27 My computer when I run any modern game.
Ok, that is a good one
What started as a team working and playing games making animation turned into a fully fledged company with award winning voice acting and animation
Damn this is givin me an urge! Welp- time to go rewatch all of RVB again

Monte had the best Fight Animation I think I’ve ever seen!
Name anything better!
The death battle between Carolina and the Meta was actually the reason why I started watching Red vs Blue.
Damn the fighting scenes got so much less fluid without Monty. R.I.P
9:36 Hilarious Fact: Caboose ordered that hot chocolate.
wait really? when was this revealed and what episode?
It's incredible how far this series has come since S1E1
You gotta admit seeing these Spartans beat the shit out of each other or others is pretty fun and way more entertaining than actual halo Spartan fights
Finnaly I found this again, Idk what happened, I loved watching this then one day it just disappeared and for months no matter where I looked for it I couldn’t find it, but ah finally I got it back, I even had it on my liked videos and couldn’t find it
It might have been taken down due to a copyright issue
everyone: you cant have a comedy series with good fight scenes
rooster teeth: *observe*
You missed the one at the beginning of Revelation with the Warthog, but still I appreciate that you gathered them all here
its sad to know that most of you wont understand but....We're on the Xbox 1 now Halo 3 & Halo: Reach was out years ago... all of those friends you made online, the friends you would play with everyday & all the custom games you guys made are all now gone... they've been offline for years and you never realized it...I did once the nostalgia hit me while watching this video :(
ive been alive since the original Xbox came out & ive played all the halo games that came out (except for the War series :/). I've made friends in all of those games but the last time i actually played with them was during that era. RIP to those OG friends i made in the Halo:2 Multiplayer, IN Halo 3 & Reach you'll never be forgotten

Why isn't York Vs Carolina kept in?

@@XxCrazy_m Annoying Dog is awesome!!!
RIP Roosterteeth, thanks to everyone who made RvB and more possible!
I always hated how Carolina just stood there when Felix knifed her in the leg, so avoidable. And yes I know it's a fictional animation, but still.
It's sad to watch it just get lower in quality.
This is literally halo the anime
I never paid attention to halo but now im starting to love it
Fun fact: Carolina is canonically better at fighting 2v1 than she is on 2v2.
Which ironically/unironically suits her character very well since she's very competitive, but doesn't play too well with others.
6:00 thats a pretty damn meaty slap considering they are in power armour
Master chief goes near spartan
Spartan:
Confused dead
49:00 what I really love here is that the tank driver and gunner aren’t useless cannon fodder they get Texas on the ropes (this may only be that they have a tank and well tank beats everything) up until York turns the gravity off
Category: MUSIC
Me: there is music but it's only action
I remember when I was younger and thought this was all halo gameplay.
Maaan. If Tex, Carolina, Maine, etc. can fight like that, I can only barely imagine how Master Chief rips through the Covenant!
He doesnt have that type of training, but he makes up for it with a lot of armor and shields (freelancer armor is not spartan armor)
@@dragobane4728 I'm sure he has better training though. He can handle two alien factions and the flood all on his own countless times
12:35 is that Ian and Anthony from SMOSH?!
they cameo at least 3 times in the freelancer arc
dude holy shit, every time i have seen that scene i have wondered why their voices were familiar, they are smosh lol

Kevin Donovan i think it is
Kevin Donovan Yes it is. It's an Easter Egg

Isaiah Thomas not really at the end there
Bow chicka Bow wow
Carolina and Wash are my favourite Freelancers. They are such a good duo
Never have l ever seen a Pelican fly so fast
_CLEARLY_ you havent been in one stuck in a dogfight with Sabres...
Just realized that Grif’s “Protect me cone!” Was used in MootroidXProduction’s the lost colony
I also didn't realize that they used the halo 3 mongoose design for Texas' motorcycle :/
@@iEatTreeSap well what else would they use?
jesus christ, you can see the massive drop in quality in the Halo 4 era when they lost Monty. That man can never be replaced
