Fun videos guys. The Beneteau is a nice step up for cruising. I'm nitpicking, but the wipers that park in the middle of the windscreen like that would drive me absolutely bonkers!
Sorry just saw this comment. Yeah so far I love the boat. Not a big fan of the wipers either but I just ignore. Hard to find a perfect boat. Maybe some day I will design my own boat :). But Overall i love it.
Man, I just LOVE your optimism and positivity! We hope to make this trip one day ourselves in a boat I am building on a pontoon boat frame. Thanks for helping us to understand the perils but also the beauty!
Great stuff ... I'm bought a boat in deale, Maryland in November, I'm bringing her back to Ohio in May with four of my buddies . I'm looking forward to boating the Chesapeake bay thanks to your videos. Keep it up my friend !
Congrants on the boat!!!... Yeah boating the Chesapeake Bay is great.... I hope this Covid19 situation gets better so we all can enjoy the crab houses and bloodymarys in the Bay :)
Any good tip ... or do's and don'ts when traveling thru the Bay heading north bound ? I have navionics and the 2020 Eldridge tide charts book . Looks like I'll be boating the Bay , Elk River , C&D Canal, Delaware Bay , Cape May , open ocean to the Hudson River, etc.... not sure how far northwest you have gone , but any good tips would be great ! Thanks , and have a great Easter! Oh, I'm in a 50 ft Chris Craft Constellation
@@itsofficialj You have a good big boat so no problem. Yes make sure you get updated charts.. Have more than one chart at the time. I split my boat chart in two screens, one close up and anther far up. And I also have a navionics running in a 12" tablet. Navionics in a tablet is so user friendy and easy to check tides and currents (always check). Also switch to the sounding chart which will give you actual readings from other boaters that have been in the area lately (more accurate depths). Identify potential issue areas the day before and be ready to face (shallows, currents, warnings in navionics etc).
I just found your channel, it's fantastic! Some constructive advice: slow down the camera movement. Try staying focused on your shots longer. The swaying is a bit hard on the eyes, and it's nice to see you both without the movement distracting from your beautiful smiles. Stay safe!
Thank you for the adventures and enjoyable videos. Your new yacht is is really nice. I’m on the Potomac at Capital Cove Marina and often thank about that that trip down Charleston since that’s my home town area. Did you jump out of the ICW into any of the blue waters on your trip back North? Looking forward to Part-5 of your trip. Y’all Take Care.
Sorry I just saw your comment. Yeah you are in my neighborhood. I am in James Creek Marina. Is it true that your fuel is much cheaper because it is subsidized? The trip to Charleston was great. Video is out already. Yeah I got out in the Ocean in the way back from St Augustine to Beaufort SC. We cover a lot of ground by doing that. It was a beautiful day.
@@boatingchesapeake2481 That subsidy rumor is a myth. We get some tax breaks but fuel pricing must be comparable with the surrounding area which means comparable to the DC area fuel. I normal purchase at Belmont Marina when we are swinging on the hook at Sweeden Point. The boaters I know on this end of the river fuel up at James Creek Marina. Thanks again for your work on your enjoyable videos. Take care and be safe.
Awesome trip!! My wife and i love Carolina beach. We go there to camp sometimes. Lots of stuff to do and see there. Are you guys going to come back up to the Potomac?
@@boatingchesapeake2481 lol...can't blame ya. That's a super nice boat. We can't wait to get back on the Potomac. We put in at leesylvania typically. Then ride to wherever....sometimes the warf and sometimes colonial beach. We want to do a overnight trip on the ski. Maybe stay at a b&b along the way somewhere. This virus might mess us up doing it this year . You guys stay safe!
Thanks gmcirillo!! Yeah DC is great for boating... 5 ports to hangout... my favorite is Georgetown... check out our Georgetown video... The entire Chesapeake Bay is great we love it!! More videos coming....
Hi Curt. The Beneteau Swift Trawler comes with one single diesel engine (Volvo Penta 370hp - with shaft/propeller). Cruising speed is about 16 to 18 knots burning about 16 gallons per hour. If you cruise at 6 knots (sailboat speed) it burns 1.2 gallons per hour giving you about 800 mile range.
@@boatingchesapeake2481 that’s awesome. I plan on taking that trip for the 1st time in sept 2021. Video was very informative. I can’t find as many power boat videos for that trip as I can sailboats. I have a 37 Searay but I love the layout of that boat especially for a 30 footer. Maybe a future boat for me
Get the chepest diesal (wife) ever.. thank you "baby". I don't know why but stop calling wife or gf baby every 2 minutes or you will get a divorce and she will take that boat of yours and you will be beached in no time. Free advice. Try using other names like sunshine, princess, honey, sugar, honeybun, sweetness, Wonder Women, Angel eyes. cutie patootie, blossom, even sexy moma ,peaches, Queen, kitten , pearl , Sparkles,....

The shrimp dinner you made on board looked fantastic 👍
Yeah that local shrimp was great!! :)
Another great video!! Thanks for sharing!! Cheers!
Thanks Dominique!!
Nice job Lucho! Moved our boat to Annapolis on April 1. Stay safe and healthy...see you on the water someday!
We just moved the boat to DC. We are quarantining in the boat :)

I've been waiting for the upload!

Are you guys back to the Chesapeake Bay yet?
Yes, we are now back in DC quarantining in the boat. Videos of the way back coming up soon.
How many times did you have to fuel to get to Florida
I think about 4 or 5... total expense was about $1,800 all the way to St Augustine Fl. If I go slow (6knots) I could make it in one tank $400.
Loving your videos. We are new to boating in the DC area. What brand are your compact bikes? Awesome videos BTW. Maybe we'll run into you!
