My EF was 30, my heart enlarged, LV muscle thickened, july 2020. I got a pacemaker and now….. EF is 57, heart shape’s normal, walls of LV normal. I am on some meds also, but so happy for the great improvement and I’m 72!😊
Hi can you please share what medication are you on? Thank you and God bless
I am 55 year old. I had heart attack and two stents are placed. My EF is 46. I feel sometimes shortness of breath. How do I increase EF?
Thank you for explaining this. And making this educational video Drs.. And for Serving and Saving lives daily. ❤
Thank you so much for the information! i share my journey in LOW EJECTION FRACTION DISTRACTION.
A year ago I was diagnosed with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. My ef was down in the mid 20’s. I was placed on one of the regiments as described here in this video. The doctors could not find a cause for my issue. I ended up switching doctors because I felt my previous one did not like interacting with patients and never spent more than 3 mins in the room with me. So I got no answers from him for a year. My new doctor tripled my metroprolol from 25mg once a day to 50mg twice a day. However, after 3.5 hours I start experiencing the feeling of shortness of breath and begin to get fatigued very quickly. Once I take the second dose I spring back to life for about 3 hours. On my last echocardiogram my ef was 45 I believe.
I have many questions but no longer really trust OSU doctors and my local LMH doctors are a total joke. I’m not really sure where to turn, is there a way to send my records to an organization that’s not close and have them do a second opinion?
Hi, I had a silent heart attack and my EF was estimated to be around 40%. Viability test showed a small portion to be hibernating, angio was done with stent to open up the artery( was 100% blocked). In the follow up( a week after angio), my cardiologist said that my EkG is already normal. Is there is good news for me in that? Or a normal EKG in my case does not mean much for my EF/HF or life expectancy?
I am at 25% left, 28% right. Am I a candidate for a DF?

@@docbob5821 I don't remember commenting but evidently, I did. What did you mean by "get a grip"?
My ef is 60%...🤔🤔🤔
I had my first heart attack at 42, extremely lucky to survive as it was over 12 hours before I went to A&E and, after an emergency airlift to a specialist hospital 2 hours later, the surgeon, looking at blood tests taken half hour beforehand, said my results were, "through the roof" and "by all rights you shouldn't be alive". 6 stents put in that day. 2 heart attacks after that, both mild but more damage done and more stents, my EF was consistently below 35%. The surgeon decided to put in a defibrillator and, after years of changing medications with help from the heart failure nurse, I'm stable. I have difficulty with low tolerance exercise, suffer angina attacks a lot, and severe fatigue. Now 53.
