Thank you for both of these first ice "tips and tricks" video. I missed first ice here this year for 2nd slug season, but will watch both again for the quality information you provide. Stay topside and TIGHT LINES ALL
@@AnglerX Finally hit the ice yesterday in NW Illinois. Used your advice of fishing higher in the water column to pick off larger and more aggressive fish. Worked like a charm. Caught 2 of my 3 biggest gills in the first 3 bites. I should have done more hole hoping as you've suggested, instead I chose to sit on my only 2 holes. Thank you again for creating and sharing the content you do. Stay topside and TIGHT LINES ALL!
That’s great! I’m glad you got on the ice. Niki and I fished today and the crappie and bluegill were hitting just a couple feet under the ice. It was a blast!
For the newbies out there, his tip about adjusting the knot to keep the jig horizontal is one of the best bluegill tips ever (crappie too). You will easily out fish your buddies who dont do it.
Keeping the plastic straight and the jig horizontal will get more bites. I agree with David also that a micro snap can help give the lure better action. I like to use snaps when using Rembrandts because it allows it to flutter.
Hi again Lance, I just ordered some of the finesse tail baits from Liquid Willow. I mentioned you in the notes section. I also looked for a promo code from your channel but didn't see one. Did I miss it? I look forward to giving the finesse tails a try! Dave
I'm running 4# yozuri hybrid in clear color this year for my jigging line. I hope it works as well for me during ice fishing as it has for me throughout the warmer months.
@@dannycarlson2758 thank you! Right now I’m just fishing with close friends and family. Someday I hope to have more time to meet and fish with other anglers.

I've used fast snaps for 12 years now and don't have that issue anymore and as a plus they seem to give your jig a much better action.
Loop knot👍

@@gillgetter3004 good luck out there and be safe
Lance you are talented fisherman. Can I hook up and fish the back waters with you this winter?

Have you or will you ever be at St. Paul ice show?
@ I have never been there. We were at the Wisconsin Ice Expo in Oshkosh, WI last year. Someday we’ll have to check out the St. Paul show.
You gotta eat more whale blubber on your pancakes so your hands don't get cold
@@matthanson4217 😆 I’ll try that
