    For all the haters that moan that Orange's are overpriced... this is why. Proper quality, handbuilt bikes. Great to see some more behind the scenes Guy.

    I had a 2011 P7 that lasted me until this year, that only failed due to rusty chainstays which was through lack of care unfortunately.
    I’m now saving up to buy a second hand Orange Clockwork 120, will be my first non 26” mtb.
    I’ll only ever ride orange, their bikes are bulletproof

    Orange hit a bit of a financial glitch, but all seems well now, I pulled a P7 out of the skip about a month ago, it was filthy, rusty, there was a paint/rust corrosion thing going on at every screw thread point but the first thing I done was saturate the thing with WD 40, let it rest, and wiped it to a light coating. Now I could see what good condition it really was. It's amazing how bad dust, dirt, light rust, can make a bike look. I now have, (with not too much work), a cracking bike, ive still got to enjoy it yet, but already, it feels like a fun bike. Respect👍

      Thanks James, it's a bit rough and ready this one but it does the job and it sorts of suits the industrial Orange feel ;-) Have you watched the ride video that goes with it?

    I remember seeing those at races in the 80’s. Leicester Noble used to ride them I think. Amazing to see how they’ve progressed after I’ve been out of touch with mountain bikes.

    Absolutely great video! Here in the states we love Orange Bikes too! One day I’ll be able to afford an Orange Four or Five. That single pivot, no nonsense build is what makes it so appealing. Hope products and slick colors make for a dream build, the hell with all these super plastic bikes, I’ll take a long heavy trail bike anyday! Cheers from NY!!

      Tom Bowman in normal times they regularly do demo events and so do their dealers. I’ll ask the lads at Orange if anywhere is still doing them at the moment.

    How is this tubing method in anyway better than hydroforming..I respect that they decide to make everything in house but seamless, hydroformed tubes obviously opens up more design possibilities and better weight/strength ratio.

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  5 років тому

      I'm a bike tester not an engineer. Orange's argument is that this allows them to control quality and tolerances much better than using 3rd party tubing and vendors. Plus they can evolve and evaluate right there in Halifax literally on a day to day basis. The latest frames are pretty competitive on weight and it certainly marks them out as unique. Whether you agree with them or not is entirely up to you and your wallet ;-)
