Gold is one of the most badass and complex characters in the show. I like how he plays off against the heroes and the other main villain Regina.

This actor deserves an Emmy or Oscar he is amazing so natural and so into his character...I love him and the show....He is the reason I watch Once Upon a time :)

Well, I'll be honest, I half-agree; he's my favorite character from OUAT, but I've seen plenty of other characters from other things that were pretty damn interesting and complex.
However, I will say one thing: Carlyle's one absolute BAD ASS! >D
I don't know why it took Henry so long to figure out who mr. gold was I figured it out as soon as I saw that he was a pawnbroker and a lawyer I said he's Rumpelstiltskin I love once upon a time I may be obsessed I don't care

this is really awesome. I had showed my dad the episode of him and Belle and also clips from the episode about him and his son. and when we were listening to the song he was beating on his arms in such a great rhythm to the song I wish I had recorded it.

He's so amazing . I love this show so much, and Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin is an amazing character. I don't know what it is about him but I find him attractive as well. So people who are fangirling over him don't be alone. I have this weird obsession with bad guys. And Rumplestiltskin is one of them now. He's deranged and rather a psychopath and is just amazing.
When he is Mr Gold...His eyes are so amazing he looks so sad...Hope he finds his son...I love this show...Can't wait for season 2...Mr Gold is the star of the show...The only reason I watch....He is a good man with a broken heart :(

Well, actually i don't see him as a romantic character but the idea in the episode is quite interesting as it shows some hidden traits of his personality and it perfectly matches with his notion "a great power requires great sacrifice".As for Belle apparently she has a Stockholm Syndrome and her love is for the man she invented. I believe that Belle could have been a nice pair for Mr Gold if she were more brainy, but for Rumplestiltskin love can exist only in a "bottled" condition))

Honestly I don't quite find him as a bad character, I despised the Queen more.
I sincerely liked him especially because he seemed like one of the most complex characters from Once upon a time, plus his story really impressed me and I felt bad for him. Hope he'll find his son the second season.

@Harpoxy, i think this song might describe lots of relationships, but it is rather cheerful and as we know with Belle there will be no happy ending in nearest future. And also Belle loves only a human part of him, not his "decease", that's why, perhaps, he felt tricked and sent her away. So the song maybe is not the best candidate for this couple.
