Same here! I also like the advice on legal length and your recommended length if their is no NSW stipulated one... And advice on slow growing species as well. As a new Spero I think there should be more emphasis being made on sustainable species and to target species with that in mind, rather then shooting everything that happens to swim by... Keep up the great work!
Love your vids! Only feedback I have is the text often disappears too quickly, you provide excellent info but I find myself pausing the vid to read it and not miss the awesome shots
Thank you! I know its a really hard balance between getting the clips to go with the music and then the descriptions be informative enough. After NSW 10 im going to change it all up abit :) make it easier to follow :)
I was the same Miles, got hooked on these videos and live 4 hrs drive from the ocean. But I've been on two spearfishing trips now since late last year. Make it happen :)
Nice one mate there some awesome fish shot there loved the buzz off the Kingy. Keep up the good work. Request - More wild camping spearfishing videos 👊🌊👍
@@WetMammal I know the feeling in Scotland just hanging out for spring so we can get some decent long trips in! Well done on the channel BTW it has grown like a wild fire!
Masterfully done as always Sam, you film in quality and it looks like you already thinking about the editing while you shoot, what makes you even more pro. great shots, wicked about the manual squidding, and the amberjack at the begining. i really love the narration you do on the videos. its adds much to the explnation of the sport, which is so critical these days. continue with the good work!
Jacob the only thing I’ll add is just check out the reserved areas where you want to dive , a lot of areas are no go zones reserved for no fishing which is a real pain in the ass , the fines are not worth it , hope this saves people from landing in trouble with the fisheries , good luck brother . 👍
Moving to Sydney early next year bringing kit over, so handy listing the species like that so I can find out what to target! Is this mostly shore diving in NSW? And can you do okay just shore diving in the area?
@@WetMammal awesome haha iv actually got a 80 cm rob allen gt carbon coming on Wednesday.... present from the boss haha iv only ever used a 1000 double band before
Nice stuff. Im fairly new to SYdney and was wondering if you could recommend any shore diving spots. preferably an hours drive either way from the harbour :)
Thanks man, Sydney is an awesome spot for beginners there are lots of easy to access points for spearfishing. Pretty much every legal spot you can spear is productive. Download the NSW Fishing App for more info too
How do you find the 85/90 roller? I have a 110 roller for all round shooting as I'm in SA. Also use a 100cm sparid evo for whiting and such with a pranger but thinking I might get a smaller roller as well for shore dives... What do you reckon?
Mines an 85 and i love it. Moves wicked in the water has punch to land big fat Kings. Works for caves and tight spots, and light for hiking. Its my go to gun now unless its super clear vis then ill go the 105 or 115
Would you let someone new to spear fishing tag along with you on your dive in Sydney? I just moved to Australia from Canada. I’ve wanted to learn spear fishing for months. Watched a ton of videos. I just bought all of the necessary gear but I can’t go alone.
hey man, i live in sydney and am trying to get into spearfishing, any recommendations for a good beginner gun for the sydney area/conditions. I'm worried im going to buy a gun and go out and realise it's the complete wrong thing and have a lot of money go down the drain.
Hey man, Id definitely look to join the San Soucci Dolphins or Central Coast Sea Lions both awesome spearfishing clubs and they can help you begin your journey without splashing hundreds of dollars :)
Hey Question do you ever come across any big sharks that you have to get out of the water for or do you go to places where you know there arnt and deadly sharks?
@@WetMammal Thanks For the reply! I knew they wouldn't target you for food but I should have said do you not risk it most of the time. But anyway love your vids and i hope you become a lot bigger on the platform and also say thanks to I did a thing cuz he brought me here and I'm glad he did.
Probably being attacked by 2 bull sharks in murky water on my own a couple of years back 😯 very lucky not to have been bitten they were just coming in really aggressively so i gtfo of the water haha
Its actually easier for us to hold our breath underwater than it is to hold our breath on land. Dont worry its a learning curve you get better with practice
As someone getting into spearfishing, the names and descriptions are incredible, thanks!
You are welcome, thats actually why they are there

Take a little give a little 🤙🏼
@@WetMammal such a good attitude mate! Keep up the great work.
The opening flag shot was at Longy! I'm just down the road! Great video, some solid red rockys :)
Cheers bro, Yes it was! All the bonito drone shots were also from there... good diving!
@@WetMammal Fantastic GNS cave out at the point, we've seen 8-9 each time in there. Just a very hit and miss spot with the vis.
Love your videos I wish I lived near the ocean to go spear fishing
Thank you, Some places in the world you can spearfish in lakes too.

Epic as always, getting me keen to make that 4hr drive again! 🔥❤️👌🍻

Hey mate, do u think u can make a video review on your aimrite roller?
I definitely think i can, ive got an undesirable video next but after that ill do a review
Is this of Sydney beaches? Or coastlines?
Sydney Beaches and Coastlines
Why was old mate throwing up?
Hangover + choppy seas = no fun
Where do you go spear fishing in sydney
Depending on the weather ill dive just about anywhere
Hey Question do you ever come across any big sharks that you have to get out of the water for or do you go to places where you know there arnt and deadly sharks?
Yeah sharks are out and about, even in that video, generally they arent trying to eat you like everyone thinks though

What’s the minimum age to start spear fishing in nsw?
I believe its 16
Love it!
Thanks bro!

@@WetMammal damn. Your a lucky man
How many fish can you kill?
I rarely take more than 2 fish per dive. This is a mash up of lots of dives
